Bob, you’ve done it again! You found another absolutely fabulous person doing exactly what she wants and caring for her pet. Just absolutely down to earth person with all the essentials one needs to live the life they want to live. God bless you both and thank you for reinforcing why I want/need to be a nomad! God bless God bless God bless.
I just saved a stainless bedpan for my van traveling shopping list on Amazon. They are extra absorbing padded liners for the bed pans. I’m retiring this summer from twenty-seven years of public school teaching in Milwaukee. 😊Now is my time.
Did Vanlife in 1981 all over CA for a year. One of the happiest times of my life. My friend 42 years later is still doing the van life and is happy. Seriously considering going back to it 45 years later even though I live in a comfy home. To an old guy like me comfort is a curse really. A house is a place to settle in to die, not experience living.
Thanks, Bob, I enjoy videos like this because it helps keep me straight as a Nomad living in my converted conversion van. I sometimes find myself wishing I had more space, I'm too cramped, I need a bigger vehicle, etc. Then I see a video of what this woman's doing, and I feel like okay, I probably have enough space, I just need to use it better like she is doing. I wish her a lifetime of safe travels.
@OverlandOne - I've been planning (for the future) of what kind of van to get for living in. Being that you live in a conversion van, I'm curious as to how it is not having enough head space to stand up in? I realize we spend most of our time sitting or laying down, but when the weather is bad it's not so easy (or nice) to go outside to stretch out. I was looking at a semi high top conversion van similar to the one in your main picture here, but am just concerned about the longevity of living in a space where I can't stand up fully. Perhaps I'm making a bigger deal out of it in my mind than it actually is though?
@ Ikarianofficial. Have you given any thought to having a hightop added on? Bob has at least one video about that - likes an outfit in California and probably some other places, too. A few thou&and bucks or so. Great investment opportunity perhaps.
To this nice lady. I had a friend who had planned for years what he was going to do when he retired. His plan was get a big 5h wheel monster rig and pull it with his massive truck. After 3 years of traveling he sold everything. He then bought a Toyota Prius. He then purchased a used motorcycle camper to pull. He said he travels the country at 40mpg! You might just be interested in a motorcycle camper!
Awesome build & this lady is truly resourceful! Love her articulate voice style & her ingenuity! Happy trails & will definitely be following her journey!👍✅💯🫶
I had a 2010 Honda insight and when stopped at a light the engine would shut off for eco but the ac shut off too😳🤷🏼♂️ because the ac ran off the engine with a belt🤦🏼♂️ so in hot Florida summer you were sweating till the light changed green…one reason I wished I would have gotten a Prius because the Prius ac runs independent 👍🏻
I have to say, Heather, you have really worked out a comfortable space for you and your kitty. I don’t know if I could have a cat in such a small space. I do relate to your “why”. I’ve been either in a relationship, raising kids or both plus caring for other family members since I was 18. That’s 50 years! I’m working towards getting out on the road - hopefully soon.
What a great build. Loved it! And I love that she was able to make space for her pet. Just a woman and her cat hitting the road. So precious. God Bless! ❤✌🏽
I watch almost all of your video's Bob and have to say that Heather is in the top 5% of folks with knowlege of what she has, where she got it, WHY she got it, specifics and other options. I love understanding the "why" behind things, she explained everything..I think this is one of the better folks you've toured with. Heather I'm off to subscribe to your channel now.
Bob, I never cease to be amazed at what people can do with these small cars. If I weren't disabled & need more room...this is close to what I would choose. Have a blessed and beautiful day. LUCRETIA
Thanks for another nice presentation. Glad to hear Heather is starting to taking care of herself after always taking care of others. Amazing job she has done with her Prius. You find so many creative and sympathetic people Bob.
She is so likable and real. What a clever use of space. I love that she travels with her cat- beautiful cat, too. Thank you for sharing. I am going to subscribe to Heathers a channel!
I understand her burnout with social worker and working for all family members' lives. I feel it, too, want to travel, but still have a small one with needs. still, i will take those trips here and there and savor every one of them like Heather. Thank you for showing us your Prius home!
I have the exact same Prius and often think about camping in it as others are doing. Another great example of how it can be done. Love the drawers in the back and the first time I have seen a bed pan used, a great space saver. Glad to see her enjoying her life.
I’ve camped in my Prius, and using the air conditioning in hot weather is terribly inefficient and impractical as the gas engine runs far too much and frequently to keep up. However, in cool weather, the heating system on recirculate can provide a nice room temperature environment with just occasional engine running to maintain the needs of the system.
Pretty smart setup, and smart lady. I can only imagine the "road" that she has traveled to finally be able to do this - she's obviously got a great attitude & outlook. I wish her the best. But... she's got to make access to those board games easier! 😆
Kudos to her. Great attitude and use of space. Climate control in the desert is incredible. I don't think I could have a litter box so close to me though. I know she tries her best to keep it clean but that stuff is toxic when it gets in the air.
Wow, I thought I was an adaptable person. This woman kicks my butt all day long. Such an small space and she makes it work with a cat. I'm a solar power nut so my only suggestion is to get some solar flexible panels to charge her batteries during the day. Other than that, I bow to this woman and her adaptability.
I look forward to my life on the road. I watch so many videos so I can learn everything I need to know before I begin my journey. I can't wait to meet Bob Wells
❤ I like the way you have your car setup that is my dream but I am disabled and I use a electronic chair I have alot of health issues but that is not going to stop me from dreaming about it be safe and God bless you and your little furry friend she is beautiful cat
Fantastic! It's cool, I went to her channel and subscribed, she sings too! But she gained some more subscribers from being interviewed by you, that is wonderful!
I don't know what it is about this lady, but I find she's very grateful and organized.

what a great comment, i feel the same!
Small-car dwellers can teach us some of the most valuable lessons!
Can't be good for your back
No way! She’s doing it somehow
I just saved a stainless bedpan for my van traveling shopping list on Amazon. They are extra absorbing padded liners for the bed pans. I’m retiring this summer from twenty-seven years of public school teaching in Milwaukee. 😊Now is my time.
I love how caring she is for her Kitty. And to be able to travel in such a small place❤❤❤❤❤
She navigated the space for her needs amazingly 🎉

Not only did she do a great job but she is really intelligent and seems easy to talk to.
Wow her vehicle and her Nomad setup is an oasis of great ingenuity we're certainly not all rich
I don't think anyone exactly chooses to live in their vehicle. I think most of us come here in fear of this outcome, I do.
@@edie4321that’s the difference between houseless and homeless. She made the choice to before it could have possibly be forced upon her.

Smort, love my faithful Prius.
Like someone stated gutsy lady. She is very positive and using what she has to survive. God bless her.
She's done a brilliant job of her Prius Home! ❤
I loved this. You are so considerate of the people you interview. Good job😊
The heat and ac is absolutely fantastic……especially in the desert 🏜️🇺🇸
She’s very thorough…nice job🙏
Love the way she thinks. She got this!
Hello, hello everybody from Puerto Rico
Amazing use of space. I love the temperature control!
Great story. Very gutsy lady. I admire her courage in taking control of her life.
Window tint regulations usually only apply to the front windows, so she should be fine.
Nicely organized. I am in awe of people who can make a car work.
I’ve been living in my Prius C for 5 years. Luvin every minute of it.
The C actually has more head room.
Awesome build & this lady is truly resourceful! Love her articulate voice style & her ingenuity! Happy trails & will definitely be following her journey!👍✅💯🫶
Wise & perceptive to do a super recharge after 30 comprehensively emotionally draining years.
I love the diversity of the folk that Bob has on his channel :)

Amazing!!!! I am always impressed with the resourcefulness of the RTR crew…I love the simplicity! Great job! Thank you, Bob!

She is nearly as tall as Bob, and this still works for her. Good job!
Bob, I never cease to be amazed at what people can do with these small cars. If I weren't disabled & need more room...this is close to what I would choose. Have a blessed and beautiful day. LUCRETIA
So amazing, wow!
@Heather_Trek, Thank You for your Social Services. You're a lovely human!

Hey Nikki,
Nice to see you got rid of the gas guzzler sprinter and are back in the Prius.🎉
I am amazed at how ingenious these nomads are!
She's doing great. I wouldn't choose to live like that but 👍 to her!
Such a great build in a Prius
She's got it made😊
I love her story of why she’s doing this! What a beautiful soul! Thank you!
She's truly made use of every inch. Amazing😊😊
Bless her heart ❤😊🎉

Nice setup, my cat would be miserable in a tiny car. She likes to run, play, and have her privacy too.
I absolutely love how this channel shows pretty much any option can work
Pretty smart setup, and smart lady. I can only imagine the "road" that she has traveled to finally be able to do this - she's obviously got a great attitude & outlook. I wish her the best.

The curved metal roof bar is a great idea!
Great story! We actually met Heather at the RTR this past January. We were parked beside her & chatted a bit. Enjoyed the video.

Wow, she has got great ideas. Great, great ideas.
This is awesome. I’m a wide bodied gal too so that made me laugh. I’m going to be living this way eventually. I’d love to have an animal when I do.
Keep it going hun. Totally worth. Free bird.
That is some great organization I have seen in a long time for someone living in their car
This lady has a fantastic attitude 💖
