    I just saw them last night in Glasgow and WOW. All 4 bands were amazing, Paledusk were an insane opener, Thornhill are super talented, Silent Planet gave one of the best live performances ive ever seen, and the energy from Polaris was fucking insane

    Jacob has defintely added a bit more grit to the live performances of their newer tracks, loved to hear it, but I also loved Heroine as an album.

    What an amazing lineup and I really wish this tour would have made it to Canada.
    However, on a positive note, the north lane tour, with invent animate and Thornhill are playing in a relatively small city, only a half an hour from my house.
    This summer I got tickets to North Lane, periphery, knock loose, and I'm taking my wife to see Sarah McLachlan for our 20th wedding anniversary.
    Cheers and thanks for the in review 🤘

    No way! I’ve been watching your channel for ages and I was at this show! I was in the pit for this. Absolutely incredible.
    But also screw 02 for £8 pints and 20% merch cuts.

    I saw them recently in Zurich and I bought the tickets without knowing Paledusk would show up. I rushed to get there on time when I noticed. The venue was barely half full when they started and in my opinion that was a bit of a bummer.
    Musically they played so incredibly well and it was just such a joy to watch them live. I knew all songs but one and that really enhanced the experience for me tremendously. I knew the switches and changes in the songs coming up, anticipating them and when they occurred i just had the biggest grin on my face watching people be like "wtf". I had a massive grin plastered on my face for the entire set. After their set they hung out by the merch stand for quite a while and was able to chat with a few of them.
    The only thing hurting their performance imo, was that they had to open and they opened with my most anticipated song "Area PD". I wish they had chosen an "easier" song to start and when the crowd got into it, then hit them with their harder songs.
    I would've gotten the tickets just to experience the meticulously constructed chaos that Paledusk is. Was very imrepessed.
    Unfortunately didn't care too much for Thornhill. Their drummer was fantastic though.
    Silent Planet was a big hit and their most popular songs got the crowd really going.
    Polaris was fantastic. Nothing much to add there.

    It was my favourite gig for a while, I really enjoyed that every band had a distinctive set up (Silent planet's projector was fantastic). I certainly helped (in Birmingham) it was a younger crowd with more people willing to mosh and get into the songs whereas a lot of other gigs I've been too post covid has been a bit more stale. Great tour.

    What a terrific recap! Judging by the video footage, you seemed to have described the entire experience very well. I’m always impressed when a band succeeds at playing live because it’s so difficult to reproduce recordings from the studio. To me, that’s what separates the greats and the legends from the rest is when they have the ability and the talent to put on a hell of a show. Glad you had a great time! 😊

    Bro people gotta put more respect on Thornhill, jacob is one of the greatest vocalist in the metalcore genre. His singing technique is absolutely flawless. They deserve more respect all round

    Was there as well! Thornhill’s newer songs sounded better live because of the Jacob incorporate lots of screams into them, and the beefy guitars imo.
    The sound production on SP and Polaris was amazing.

    Saw you walk past me and only then remembered I was in the center of the country and everyone was there lmao
    Edit, the spoken word song by Silent Planet is called 'Panic Room' and is easily one of their greatest songs, the lyrical choices are absolutely worth your time

    • @SteveOGRock
      @SteveOGRock  6 месяцев назад +1

      😂 Haha yeah, gigs like that feel like the centre of the metal universe when the lineup’s so strong. Next time say howdy if ye have time 👋🏻
      Panic Room! That’s the one, I couldn’t remember the name of it. Cheers, will give it another listen.

    Great show - I felt the mixing across the night wasn't the best - I've heard much better at this venue including for Thornhill when I've seen them before

    • @SteveOGRock
      @SteveOGRock  6 месяцев назад +1

      Sometimes the mix can depend on where you are in the venue. There are always muddy spots due to some physics madness.

      NOOOO WAY, I was there too. I don’t rlly like Paledusk maybe cuz I didn’t know any of their stuff. Thornhill are my fav band ever and idk why. Silent Plant slapped and Polaris did a great job, I had to leave early tho to catch a train which was awful

    • @SteveOGRock
      @SteveOGRock  6 месяцев назад

      @@SamB-yj8is haha don’t worry, you don’t have to know why a certain band is your favourite. Some bands just click for some people. Enjoy with abandon!

    They’re great live, shame Fatalism is an absolute miss and barely contains a single good, innovative track.
