I feel the pain in the lyrics... and the ending is just like someone struggling in a storm or struggling in violent waters not to drawn. It's sooooooo deep and heartbreaking.

I’ve heard some Avenged in the past, and some moments I have definitely liked but overall it’s not quite my jam. However! I’m all for giving bands new listens as time goes by because they can change their sound over time. I will add “Save Me” to my list!

They also use it in the intro for Blood Sport. Nice little motif, probably referencing that the songs are tied together thematically.
