- This was just a glimpse inside his heart and I so very much respect where he is coming from on this one. This is one terrific guy.
ITVAlaska, this one is dedicated to you!
This masterpiece is so overlooked because of the album getting bad reviews, revival is actually one of my favorite albums Eminem poured his soul in it
Mine as well. It’s when he really started sharing his journey of working on himself in a healthier way. Em inspires me.
Same here revival is the realest saddest most chills I've ever felt he opened up his heart on this
Funny how many are relistening and realsing they slept on tht album.😂😂
@@helenk43 ya and us real fans already know this was one of the best albums
I didn't like it on My first listen because of the production. After a few more listens I understand that the production was used very artistically and the lyrics and his rapping abilities were phenomenal. It's now probably my most listened to of Em's albums. This album is just so Honest!!!!
"I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to Eminem"
My man doesn't realize the bar he just dropped 😂
Dude. GREAT observation! I missed my own bar!!!
Real stans have always loved this. Eminem makes himself leave the comfort zone and experiment with his craft. People were mad about that and tried to cancel. But we will keep Eminem around forever. We will fight till our hands bleed for a better future, and he embodies that to his core.
Wow. I don't think nobody tried to cancel him because of the album, the album just didn't largely for the most part resonate with people and that's that. People tried to cancel him for the other stuff that many got heat for at the time and some got actually blacklisted for saying certain words in the past and stupid stuff like that totally out of context of the times etc. Also the track Foolish Pride he made when like 15-16 years old is what he has been apologizing for now what the fourth time already got risen up again. Nobody needs to fight till their hands bleed, the man can hold his own. Everythings fine.
@@aleksisuuronen5969 your a very literal person aren't you? Check out Eminem's whole discography. He has fought tooth and nail to make his future better. At the same time pointing out the bullshit in America. I was simply making an observation on how stans view Eminem and his revival album. It's a free world though, so you do you.
@@UnitedWeStan I have listened the guy 20 years now so I know his discography and life. The comment just sounds like a bit weard speech before going into battle 😅 But no worries. Still yes I still think it's pretty important to point out that the cancelling and the album didn't got nothing to do with each other.. other than he was already talked subject because of the album and back then people grapped to anything that was easy to try and cancel for past deeds so it was more so just the timing than people being mad about the album. He would have been anyway on the list to try and cancel back then even without an album to trend.
@@UnitedWeStan nah ur comment was just weird af
Beyonce does the female vocals on this track. You've heard enough tracks by now you should recognize and agree that his pursuit of more and more and being better is a never ending journey. Even back to Rap God with the lyric "But look at the accolades these skills brung me / Full of myself, but still hungry". Its like rap was his one and only reason for existing (besides his kids). Its his life, and his passion. If you notice through most of the video on the typewritters, he is typing nothing but random letters and gibberish. But as it gets later in the video there is clarity and he is typing actual words for the track Stan. Still looking forward to seeing you do some content in his interviews/documentary videos :).
Did you have to put it so well?....true characterization
the "random letters and gibberish" are a representation of him finding his complex rhyme schemes i'm pretty sure
It the monkey on the typewriter theory search that up
"If you put a bunch of monkeys in a room with typewriters, on a long enough timeline they'll type the works of Shakespeare" @@anomaly3215
Awesome video! Vocals are Beyoncé
I love this song. So many people hate it though cause it's not "hard"
When Em shows his insecurities, that's my favorite. He's showing us that no matter where we are or where we've come from, we're all in this together 💜
Hope you and the fam are well 😊
Thanks again Lux. Yes, whenever someone put on humility, they are instantly approachable and relatable. I love that about Em. Of course, he has his proudful moments as well, lol!
@@larryshair have you done Zeus yet? I can't remember. But that song is on music to be murdered by side b. It's very similar and how he is humble, but the delivery hits a certain way LOL there's not a video to it. If you haven't reacted to it, make sure you put the worty dirds in there 😘 ❤️
I agree. I love this one, and the Revival album .
Its Beyonce singing, and the ending has continuation in the next song of the album "believe" which is super motivational track
Those last 3 words is a double entendre. "I wrote Stan" as in he wrote the song Stan, but also as in he wrote a letter to Stan. What's even more interesting, Stan's first 3 words in his first letter to Eminem (after the salutation "Dear Slim") are "I wrote you".
It's also a metaphor. Stan represents a fan that has expectations from an artist. He expected Eminem to write back. Although it was too late, Eminem indeed wrote Stan back. This song (Walk On Water) deals with Eminem questioning his ability to give his fans what they expect from him. By using this Stan reference of him writing Stan back (and therefore fulfilling the fan's expectations), he basically confirms it. But yea, even without understanding this second layer underneath, Eminem bragging about writing the song Stan still delivers the same message.
Very good catch!
EXCELLENT obsevation!
@@larryshair the vocals from Beyoncé made this song more deep
Never thought of the double with "I wrote Stan". Ty for that!❤️
@@Swifties4Harris If you want some more...
"Why are expectations so high? Is it the bar I set, my arms I stretch, but I can't reach"
1st layer: In terms of rap he set the bar high and it's hard to reach it (even for him).
2nd layer: The word "bar" has become a slang term denoting a double entendre or a clever/shocking/interesting line or rhyme. The words "stretch" and "reach" both mean an interpretation of a bar that the interpret himself didn't intend. So Em is saying that he's trying to "stretch", but he can't "reach". Like he can't write a stretch/reach. Everything he writes he means it. He's unable to write something basic or something without deeper meaning.
But this could be a stretch.
DEF A CLASSIC. one of the most underrated em songs of all time.
It’s great having a reactor who focuses more on the substance as opposed to the rhymes and wordplay. Much more educational and interesting to watch someone so wise giving his personal perspective on it in my opinion.
Wow, thanks so much for your kind words!
Great reaction as always, Chris
.I've requested Believe a few times. Now might be a good time to do it as it follows straight on from this song!
Such a good song
Yes, listen to Believe next time if you can. It’s a really motivational and raw song. It perfectly showcases how strong Em is and he’s just always able to pass that energy onto the listener.
Believe just doesn’t have the great hook like walk on water and higher do imo. I appreciate the master lyrics of believe as always though
If only Eminem could really know how many of us depended on him, to get us through hard times. He’s done more for us, than he could ever know.
he does though that's why this song was made. is just we tend to forget that they got feelings too, and we tend to drop our issues to be healed by there music
Deshaun is proof
This song is a masterpiece the way Em bared his heart & soul onto this track was just so emotional and yet so revealing Beyoncé vocals are amazing too this song has a sad yet uplifting message towards the end and to answer your question this album got heavily criticized just cause Em chose to take a different creative direction from his previous albums which was unexpectedly great and yes it’s a masterpiece Em The Goat!👊🏽🐐🔥💯(Please React to Eminem “Beautiful Pain” Ft. Sia Lyric Video)
Yes pls 🙏🏻 Beautifull pain
This then goes straight into believe which was basically the warning and how we got kamikaze and MTBMB
Skylar Grey and Eminem did a great live performance on Saturday Night Live: ruclips.net/video/GxkLy_mvGXE/видео.html (Walk On Water/Stan/Love The Way You Lie (Medley/Live From Saturday Night Live/2017)
This performance is absolutely perfect, thanks for reminding me of it so I can watch it again. Skylar is so amazing as well. Beyonce, Dido and Rihanna are so good, but Skylar does all their parts so perfectly in this.
Just imagine.. Well none of us can imagine, the pressure.. Every time he puts out an album to his 40+ million fans and every single thing has to be better than your last. It is absolutely insane. When a rapper put something out, eh it's either good or bad but when Em puts something out.. He is tested for every single line he spits. The pressure of that!
I'll never understand how a lot of ppl didn't like this song.. Its a master-piece tbh.. The blood, sweat and tears this man has been putting out for decades.. The lives he's saved with his music and still ppl seem to hate on everything the man does.. *Now take your best rhyme.. out do it, now do it a thousand times* (Which he's done) - - Like Joe and Tyler calling this the worst song they've heard.. like WHAT?? This is purely beautiful poetry..
You should check out "Jay Z ft Eminem - Renegade". There are several lyric-based videos for this song. Keep in mind this was 2001. Jay Z took a lot of heat for Eminem surpassing him on his own track. Truly poetic!
It was originally an Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" song. It was later gifted to Jay-Z by Eminem, along with Em's verses.
@@Daymare_666 not really relevant tho ngl
@@Francis_Higgins, it's just an interesting fact for fellow music nerds like myself, and since the fact pertains to the song that was referenced, then it actually could be deemed relevant.
@@Daymare_666 its not relevant to what he said tho
If he's a big enough fan of em to be watching a reaction video and suggesting songs he probably knows this anyway

Vulnerable Eminem. 🥰
Knew this one would hit you! So glad you appreciated it. Keep at it Chris!
The “wash out the blonde” line…hits me. I started going gray at 18. For over 20 years I dyed it, hid it, basically battled it. During covid I decided to try to embrace my gray and stop dying it to really embrace who I am authentically.
Oh and hopefully you figured out it’s the Queen B, Beyoncé

I love this song. I like almost all his songs. I've been listening to him for a long, since I was 14. Watching his progression has been awesome. I've like watching ur videos. You've mad me think of the songs in a new way. So thank you. Also you should do eminema 25 to life. I think you'll like it to. Thx
God I love your reactions
Thanks so much Nick!
i would love for you to react to Believe by eminem off his revival album. Its an amazing motivational song .
He's just amazing. I think the fact that he is such a perfectionist makes him even more relatable and loveable. Doesn't he know who he is!?!??! 😆 I wonder how many of his fans are perfectionists themselves. Lol. Raise your hands 🤣🙋♀️
Chills 5 years later…!
Keep them coming Chris. Great, sincere reactions
I thought his name was Larry
Thanks so much, TB!
lol, that's a long story... I told it on one of my videos once. I'll have to re-tell it again.
I don't know if anyone's mentioned the "DeShaun" reference and I couldn't see anything, but it's a reference to Proof who's name was DeShaun Dupree Holton. So when he says "But the only one who's looking down on me that matters now's DeShaun" he's basically Proof is watching over him and that's all that matters.
Love the videos btw!
He does a song with P!nk called won't back down and I believe he was featured on one of her songs. They were a good pair!
I just love this song , such a beautiful classic Eminem song 👏❤🐐🙏
Walk on water is the first track in the Revival album. I feel starting from this first tack, this whole album is very underrated as Em himself has stated. Great reaction as always. Thank You.
Yes. He is a very sensitive soul and he will live on in the hearts of his ALL of his fans because the true ones really understand that he has nothing else to prove...he's around because of us and we're just lucky he continues to give himself. Heck, Paul said the Curtain Call 2 "Marks the Beginning of a new chapter in his career"...so, I doubt he's going anywhere and that makes me love him even more bc music is pure therapy.
*Especially his and at his level
I've never really liked this song for some reason (hoped it would grow on me but it never did but oh well) really glad you did tho :)
The singer is Beyoncé btw
Beyoncé is the singer
Eminem has been a huge part of my childhood growing up. Coming from a broken home as well his music has helped with the suicidal thoughts and being in a dark place.
RIP, Proof.
Revival got heat that it didn't deserve. In time it will be recognised as one of the greats. Things are already shifting for it. It's an amazing album.
Hello Larry! I love your content and I am so glad to see someone around the age of my father discovering the beauty and depth of the hip hop and rap culture. I would love to see how you gonna like some of the underground artists which are again very talented just with a bit harder language but in some cases having even deeper bars. I would like to suggest you Vinnie Paz and RA The rugged man and songs as a start maybe "Keep movin on" and "fraudulent cloth" from Vinnie and "First born", "Contradictionary" and "Afterlife" from RA. And maybe one of their colab songs - Vietnam Story. Hope may be you find some great artist in this part of rap as well. Anyway, great job.. keep it up. Wish you all the best! :)
Thank you! Thank you! I love this song so much!
This is the one Em song that reduces me to tears pretty much every time I hear it. Because it is so relatable. He has other songs that are tear-jerky - When I'm Gone, Like Toy Soldiers, etc. But although you can feel them even if you aren't in the position they portray (a parent of a child, a leader in an effed up "war"), they are still conditional. But this one isn't simply because it doesn't matter WHAT you do in your life, whether it is rap, programming, teaching or cooking, everyone know what it is like to doubt yourself and be afraid of disappointing others. That why this one is so universal imo
Deshawn = Proof
Never heard this one before, great song, loved the reaction as always but there's one more thing... I just realized that my neighbor never returned the tools he borrowed about a month ago. Thanks for reminding, Imma go get them back 😂
Always love the end of the song. He spends the whole song breaking down how truly vulnerable he is and how everything affects him. Laying his heart and soul out to tell you I'm just human, but don't you forget I'm still GODLIKE on the mic and FUCK YOU. Perfect encapsulation of Eminem.
Unfortunately don't have time to watch right now. (I am at work 😏.) But wanted to thank you first for doing this reaction. One of my all-time favourite songs from Em.
Thanks H!
I absolutely love this song. Revival was an amazing album
I know right! Just at the beginning you feel like a kid in a candy store. With high expectation, waiting to listen to Eminem's next song. But then you feel almost awful when you hear him struggling with insecurities of making God tier music. When in the end we just want to tell Marshall that we know he's human. And we appreciate everything that he had shared. That we know that he's just a human (with amazing brain to create masterpieces of songs). And we are forgiving when he falls again and again. Because like he had said before, (I'm paraphrasing) his worst is anyone else's best
PS. I always struggle singin along at Beyonce's verse because it's just so raw and honest that it never not got me in my feels
Exactly. As an empathic person on a similar journey of working on me, I can feel his pain but proud of how he is so honest about his struggle and still overcoming. I’d so love to just make sure he knows that he is seen and appreciated.
@@stephaniecornwell8766 exactly. I'm sure most of his true fans are a lot like us.

@@larryshair can't wait to see your reaction to the emotion he puts in his songs
Love seeing your attitude change since the first eminem reaction, when from someone who doesn't really listen to rap or rappers, to breaking down bars and trying to decipher the meaning and the stories behind the tracks/artists and catching all the entendres. Its been and an amazing journey and can't wait to see more as you dig deeper
What a great song. Em is wearing his heart on his sleeve here, though the last sentence may make you think twice. It's kinda like he says :"HA! Got you! " Pure genius anyhow. And a great reaction as always 🙂 It seems from the comments that this album actually is the favorite of many. I think I'll have a go at it and listen it through. But I feel like I need to read the lyrics to catch more than 70% of it, as I'm Norwegian. Take care, Chris ♥♥♥
Sorry to read about Freya. Take care 'AL' patti
Not really a ha got you in my opinion, it's just finishing his thoughts. He feels like the song at times, gets down, but at the end of the day he still knows who he is and overcomes the bad thoughts. Everyone is like this. Think bad, but snap out of it, do what you need to do, be proud of your accomplishments.

Media journalists have been so horribly Harsh! All they ever point out is his color and criticize everything he does!!! Beyonce is on this track with Eminem. DeSean is Proof! So many look up to Eminem....worship him. I believe thats why he's saying ...Yes I walk on water but only when it freezes! He saying he's just like the rest of us! He's afraid of letting fans down and himself! He was getting pulled in so many different directions! They want the old Eminem back....no we like the new Eminem...his verse didn't have any content....he puts his feelings on wax and its too much. He felt like..no matter what he did it wasnt going to be good enough! He isn't ready to stop yet...and he's afraid of losing everything he's worked for!

Just keep going Chris, No Life Shaq started from nowhere and now gets stuff directly from Em, so it may happen to you, you never know!

The reference is about his buddy Proof who he lost years ago. His real name was DuShaun Dupree Holton.
The next song on this album is 'Believe' and it's like a part two of a same song. Something like Castle and Arose. Check it out 😉
So I get so much shit when I say this but in my personal opinion this album was directly from Marshall not Eminem or Slim but the man himself no facade(aside from a few filler tacks Framed, Heat etc) which is also why I think he took it so personally when the album was shit all over by the media, it brought him back to when he was rejected and bullied as a kid for being himself. Great reaction as usual 🙌
You should love her voice UNK. It's Beyonce
That’s Beyoncé in the chorus and bridge. All of the EMINEM’s sitting at the typewriters typing gibberish is a reference to the saying that if you put a thousand monkeys in a room with typewriters and let them go eventually one of them will randomly type the entirety of Shakespeare’s works. Throughout the video they are getting closer and closer to typing out the song Stan and at the end when the lyrics say “I wrote Stan” is basically saying that they achieved it. It goes along with the theme of the song that he is constantly trying to outdo himself.
Joyner lucas I'm not racist reaction please
I hope Eminem sees this reaction video out of all of them. Love it man, you’re so true and genuine just like Em!
