I love Ghoti Runick so much. Such a fun deck. I know it's Rogue at best, but the fact that a synchro-on-your-opponents-turn style toolbox deck even stands a chance in the modern game makes me smile :)
It's really important to know that S:P can banish cards from your own GY on summon. This means you can use Leaffish to dump Psiics, then make S:P with Leaffish + Hugin to banish Psiics in GY. Psiics will then SS itself by banishing Leaffish. From there you can use Psiics' search and setup more interaction. Furthermore, when it's your opponent's turn, you can use S:P's other eff to banish your Psiic. That way you can trigger yet another Psiics search.
you know jillian jumpscare aside, imagin how scary it actual is to have a spouce whose main source of income is cultivating a group of silly people with fish jokes. THEN again I now feel like a fish in the barrel for jumping to see more fish, if only next week we could get some fire eye ghostricks..
I’ve been scrambling searching for content on this deck since I just recently purchased the runick part of it. I’ve loved the Ghoti archetype since it was announced and the new support inspired me to try to get back to playing competitively in this meta. Thanks for the content as always!
Genuinely love the new approach lately in explaining the deck non-linearly and highlighting what's going on before each game starts. It makes these play-by-play breakdowns a lot more comprehensible.
intresting thing to note S:P can banish your own fish in the grave to trigger them. that way lifeless + 1 Runick does something because you can send a fish go S:P and then banish the fish
I appreciate how MBT gives Ghoti so much attention even when there are so many stronger decks. It's always a good day when it talks about it or Plunder.
Crossout is legitimately worth a slot in the deck. It can protect you from hand traps and act as a play starter by banishing Shif or Paces on your turn, to trigger them on your opponents' turn.
Another build is the SHS variant that plays like Snake-Eyes does, with a bunch of handtraps. Since you can't play S/T, PSY-Framegear Delta works as a spell negate and Wakaushi is a one card combo by itself that can end on Beatrice and extra bodies for synchroing on your opponents turn.
Another Ghoti video from MBT, another 20 minutes of hearing Snopios be pronounced "Snopoisus" Edit: In the Conclusions he fixes his pronuniciation like at 18:28
@@snekpeachy Any kind of deck that can play in your opponents turn, you want to aim to activate at least 5 effects before the point you'll need You're Finished! to trigger. Ghoti, Melffy (maybe with Sprights too?) and Purrely (pretty sure each Sleepy draw is a separate effect) sounds like the best option for it. From the top of my head other decks where maybe it would be playable in VS, Labrynth and Ninjas.
hey, i just learned the turn one setup with lifeless leaffish, is supposed to be lifeless bin psiics, lifeless plus hugin for a S:p, sp banish psiics to trigger it, banish leafless to summon and search a keaf, and then banish the keaf. This is supposed to leave you with fountain, keaf that can tag out for lifeless to bin a zep, and S:p which can tag out your psiics to get it back and banish the zep. That's supposed to be the bread and butter combo of the list.
I remember hearing this deck mentioned in another vid and I was hoping this would be covered soon. It's exactly was I was expecting it to be but I'm happy. It seems strong but isn't meta breaking which makes for fun games against everything else
It might be worth considering Crossout ratios of the hand traps this deck is most vulnerable to, and sometimes just using the card to self banish your stuff so it can float on the following turn can be the extra gas you need to keep going. Speaking of Self-Banishes, apparently S:P can also do that, even hitting your stuff in GY if needed, and the Runick summons ensure you have an Extra Deck monster to get that effect off with more frequently than other decks that aren't Link heavy.
great idea, but you are still missing the point mbt made. The only reason this deck is mid rn is cause Snake eyes can play 18 handtraps no prob. And thats the problem not the deck itself.
Hey man im so glad you make these videos, lmaonthats funnywith the power of runick anythings possible 😂 but yeah theres alot of decks i enjoy testing, feels really good to see other good duelists making similar decks - as always sweet deck, i also just posted my first deck on ygoprodeck
If you play Munin in the extra deck, you can make Arianpos by normal summoning any level 3 tuner. If we’re trying to run more hand traps, this might be the way to go. Having to run specifically Ash, Belle, Mourner and Ogre isn’t ideal, but it slightly makes up for any lost consistency you have by trying to cram more hand traps into your Runick deck.
My ghoti dream support -> "a level 4 synchro fish(1 fish tuner and one non tuner monster), If this card is synchro summoned you can special summon 1 level 4 or lower fish tuner monster from your graveyard, then immediately after this effect resolves, you can synchro summon a fish type synchro monster using only those 2 monsters as material. You can treat this card as a tuner for the synchro summon of a fish type synchro monster using only fish type monsters as material. If this card is banished from the field or graveyard you can return it to the extra deck."
Btw. the combo with Lifeles (if you have a Runick spell) is to send Psiics, summon a Runick, go into S: P and banish Psiics. That way you end on way more then Arionpos on the opponents turn.
I just realized that Psiics, is pronounced, SIX, and I looked at the monsters level, and then proceeded to slam my head against my desk, multiple times.
The deck needs more ways to get going. If you manage to somehow get the engine going (Snopius in Hand + Tuners in Grave/Banish) it feels like the deck literally cannot loose any more. I don't think I've ever lost a grindgame with Ghoti ever
Loved the video, but I'm not a big fan of Leaffish. It's normal summon is decent, yeah, but it accomplishes so little imo. I prefer playing the lightsworn engine (2 raiden 3 charge) as it's Arionpos directly with Hugin, plus it fills the gy with runicks and fish.
if you like this deck, you should try pure ghoti and ghoti banish variants. ghoti banish plays dimensional shifter, necroface and aloof lupine. very effective against many decks
this was a pretty good showing of the deck. however, I CANNOT recommend that other plays play lifeless leafish in this deck. it's a good card in any other version of ghoti, but unfortunately it just doesn't really do much here. the boards that lifless leafish make are far less impressive than if you had used Paces or Shiff.
I like phantasmay in the side with Magnamut and druiswurm cause if youre against a light dark deck bystials are good and if you're going first and can put a light in grave you can search a fantasy for your opponents turn 1 if you can't make an unbreakable board
I've been playing ghoti since it came out. Crossout is genuinely broken because if nothing else it grabs you a fish to get the engine running and of course there is the protection
Joshua Smith sure is incredible. He accomplished so much, despite only being a jpg.

Only reason I don't play this Ghoti variant. SP is too much money and, as you said, does basically everything for this deck.

MBT taught the fish to synchro summon so well, they become the runick variant of the month.
Great seeing MBT and Josh finally collab.
Josh has such a wonderful voice.
Your pronunciation of Psiics was sending me, shades of DB Grinder!
Once again, Ghoti proves to be a sick Synchro engine

i love snupoisus

are there other decks where that card is also decent?

Funny how MBT made a lengthy video on murdering your darlings (ash) and then ends up play 3 Ash in a Runick deck with only 6 handtraps.
why wont you pronounce snopios correctly, or even near to the correct way
