    Шикарный барбют, работа выше всяких похвал, но все же салад (#19) из цельного куска стали нравится больше .

    Hello,
    Nice work for the work and the know-how of the metal,
    But without offending you pity to make a tutorial by showing welding on such beautiful parts , it breaks the charm of the work of the epoch of the middle ages; congratulations for the know-how!

    Moi qui cherche désespérément quelqu'un pour me forger mon armure (raz le bol des pièces disparates achetées d'occasion), je me dis que je devrais peut-être me trouver un atelier et tenter de faire mon armure moi-même !

    Does having a protruded 'spine' along the top of the helmet benefit the wearer in any way when it comes to combat?

    • @thealex4477
      @thealex4477 9 лет назад

      I heard that its designed to deflect arrows, but I could be wrong. It might also provide extra strength against top-of-the-helmet hits.

    • @VertigaDesignMEDIA
      @VertigaDesignMEDIA 9 лет назад

      Master Of Unknown Ah k yeah, makes alot of sense with the added strength.

    • @Hrafnhistorical

      Vertiga Most evidence - both artistic and osteoarchaeological - suggests that the most prevalent strike on the medieval battlefield was a big brutish downwards one aimed at the top of the head, so with a steeper the angle at the crest of a helmet there's less chance of it staving in instead of glancing off. Virtually all helms from all of the Middle Ages are similar.

      ASaxonAtHeart Approaching someone in full armour from behind with a warhammer and laying it directly on there head will be very effective I can imagine.

      Vertiga And an armour plate with a central ridge (or several) will always be more sturdy than one without.
      Unless you go overboard with ridges. Or flutes as they are also called.

    • @Chutsey
      @Chutsey 8 лет назад

      Hiraeth Ephemral Not got the money to spend on such an item but considering there are so many Star Wars fans out there and this would be such a unique and original item. I wouldn't imagine he would have trouble selling it.
      At the moment even the storm trooper acrylic capped ABS plasic armour full suit sells for about 2500 USD and collectors buy those.
