Chinese Man Who Arrived in Taiwan on Speedboat Probed | TaiwanPlus News

Authorities are looking into the case of a Chinese man who arrived at a port in northern Taiwan in a speedboat. The man apparently claims to be politically persecuted and seeking freedom but authorities are suspicious about his motives amid reports that he may have been a Chinese naval officer.

On 11th June, a man who was also the former PLA navy vessel captain has escaped China on a speed boat to Taiwan Tanshui Sea Port and surrendered himself by turning in to the Taiwan Coast Guard at his own will, interestingly his landing spot is a popular tourism attraction where lots of International travelers have visited. Then later on the same day Xi held an urgent political meeting addressing many important issues on internal affairs such as food crisis, technology and potential political turmoil disurbamces in many provinces....what does it mean to you?

Why was he arrested? According to the constitution of the Republic of China on the island Taiwan, he is the citizen of the Republic of China.
