Thank you so much for these pubcasts, they are the highlight of my week. I have to share a story, I live on the south shore of Boston and I had surgery a week ago. I pretty much am laying low and healing but after a week had to go to the grocery store. I was feeling pretty lousy and didn't even realize I was wearing my Madigans Pubcast shirt. Behind me I hear someone yelling I'm a termite too. I didn't even turn around, but she came right up to me and said it to me and it dawned on me that oh my god shes a Kathleen fan too!! We had a nice talk and I left smiling and grateful that I had to go to the store. Just wanted you to know that your termites are everywhere and they are being good and making people happy even when not feeling good. Thanks for everything!!
Great story thanks for sharing. Cheers to you and a quick recovery. I would probably talk to any other termite as well. 😁 we're all special peeps. 🤣
“I actually forget I’m trying to do something” 😂 I have the feeling that won’t even be the best quote. Definitely the first best quote
Awwwww yaaaaay!! Baby Cat!! So adorable! 🥰 Thank you for another great show Kathleen and Paddles! 👍👍🙌🙌🍻🍻
Awww, Baby Cat's special appearance was so cute!! And, Kathleen, your review of the Queen's funeral made my day, LOL. Can't wait to see you in Royal Oak, MI in October!
Ahhhh, sitting down with your new podcast just made my nerve wracked day so much better! Thank you!!!!!
Queen Elizabeth II funeral, I watched the whole event on BBC. They did a fantastic job. I watched all 10 days, now I have no idea what to do with myself. Thank God you and Paddles are here!!!!
Hi Mama T and Paddles. I recalled that you mentioned on a recent Pubcast about the Rhine River drought, so I thought you might find this information interesting. I was listening to a news report about the current drought in Europe and in some parts of France, you can now walk across a river. Also, in the Czech Republic a lengthy drought has exposed carved boulders, known as "hunger stones," that have been used for centuries to commemorate historic droughts, and warn of their consequences. The folowing warning was carved in 1616 and read, "If you can see me, cry"; first seen in 2018 and now resurfaced again during this drought. Another hunger stone's inscription says, "We cried, we cry and you will cry." YIKES!!!
I just learned about Lewis Termin. "After WWI, Lewis Terman, a psychologist at Stanford, decided to do a long-term study following a group of extraordinarily intelligent children, whose IQs averaged 140. He called them the “Termites.” I thought of you immediately! Malcolm Gladwell wrote about the Termites in his book, The Outliers. Just thought you would want to know, if you don't already. Thanks for the pubcast and for keeping all your termites so well informed.
It would be great to have a merch shirt with Baby Cat-would buy that
Baby Kat!
Omg yes please Madigan's Pubcast with our beloved mascot, Baby-Cat, wearing Baby Shoes 😄
My husband says you’re killing him as I cannot stop laughing….Chuck has to have his shoelaces ironed🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think French's used to make potato sticks that came in a canister. I remember them hurting my mouth if I ate them wrong as a child! I just had a memory pic when you brought the Utz ones out. I love your show. It always makes me hungry! Welcome Baby Cat!
Think you are right!
Kathleen is just ...too awesome .. i didnt watch the funeral but would definitely pay for reaction post by her...
Hahahaa...
Thanks for soo many amazing posts
"No one here is in love, for Christ's sake! What does that even mean to you??" Omg...that part STILL has me rolling!! 🤣😂🤣
Yay!!! Love to hear from my friend, Kathleen Madigan!!!!!
I would like a dummies version of fantasy football. Please and thank you. Loved you in Denver!
They are called Piknik Stix. I can still buy them at my local grocery in West Central IL.
Terrific #106!! You are amazing! Love Baby Cat too. She should be an official Pubcast participant!!
What do you set the A//C to? You’ve had a sweatshirt on all summer and talk about the heat 😂
Having Vicki transport the jewelry would be a good idea, except she doesn't make left-hand turns anymore. So it would probably take too long!😂🤣😂🤣
I AM SO EXCITED! I was searching for places to see your first comedy special, AND FOUND OUT YOU WERE COMING TO MY AREA at the Luther Burbank theater in Santa Rosa, CA. I've already scored my tickets. Meanwhile, I'm checking out Peacock to see if they actually have your first special. SO EXCITED!
Love the kitty!!!
Glad to watch your podcast! It’s great seeing you!
Re Andrew taking Corgis - I’m told that he gave them to her so…but initially I thought I could hear them scheming to give Andrew the job of royal poop scooper.
Coming to see you in Asheville Saturday mama Termite!! Cannot wait
My job is to be "continuous" too dam funny.hahahahahaha
I always keep a $2 bill in my wallet. It's a tradition that my dad passed down to me since my grandfather always carried a $2 silver certificate so he "never went broke."
Absolutely loved the show in Dallas! Please come back soon so my momma can join ❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Loved the appearance of Baby Cat! What a beautiful cat. Yeah, there needs to be a Baby Cat t-shirt like @Lily Pudding said.
About wealthy people donating - some of this is present, some is past. This barely scratches the surface of what they did.
Tom Yawkey, owner of the Boston Red Sox, lived in Georgetown County, SC. He donated his land to SC as a wildlife preserve & for research purposes. He also donated funds for Georgetown Hospital & a boys’ home.
His will set up the Yawkey Foundation which has donated to Mass General, Boston Medical Center, set up scholarships for students with financial need, helped the homeless, and more. The YF is still very active in donations.
The Huntingtons, super wealthy families descended from the same forebears, did a lot of donating. Here’s info about some of them & only a bit of their work: Collis P. and his wife Arabella were abolitionists. They funded what is now Hampton University. Collis has a building named after him @ Tuskegee University which was dedicated to education Black women; Arabella financed the building after Collis’ death; the building is still in use.
Collis’ nephew, Henry E. donated his family homestead to the city of Oneonta, NY to be a library and park. Arabella married him after Collis’ death. He & Arabella founded the Huntington Library, Art Collections, & Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA.
Archer M. & his wife Anna Hyatt Huntington (a sculptor) built Atalaya Castle (now a part of Huntington Beach State Park) & Brookgreen Gardens. Both were donated to SC after he died. They donated funds & land during the Depression, established museums, and donated land to two different colleges in the State University of New York system. One piece is Camp Pine Knot, a “great camp,” on Raquette Lake in the Adirondacks. The camp was “sold” for $1.00 in 1947 to SUNY-Cortland to be used for educational purposes.
Hilarious - as usual. The Tower of London is home to The Crown Jewels (and the Raven master and the ravens): the state crown on the purple pillow, the scepter and orb - and a whole friggin’ lot of other jewelry. And that’s in addition to her PERSONAL jewelry: Diana’s Lover’s Knot tiara (belonged to a the wife of the Tsar of Russia, I think), the tiara that Meghan wore when she married Harry (which was a gift from the last Queen Mother), the Pearl chokers her dad and Prince Philip crave her, the diamond Bow brooch the Guide Girls gave her, which was her favorite - and TONS and TONS of gifts from heads of state (check out that diamond/ruby tiara and parreure from a Saudi king that she wore when she hosted Trump). Only what she got at her wedding, I think. After she became such gifts became part of the Crown Jewels and belong to the reigning monarch. Baby Cat (a/k/a El Mencho?) looks fat and happy. Thanks, Mama Termite. Man - you work a lot for us!
Kathleen has a work ethic second to none.
King Charles III was basically raised by the Queen Mother & he was very pampered. Emma the Queen's horse was beside the procession. 💔😞
YES, Please on the Fantasy training podcast!! :)
I agree! I would love this!
Baby cat official mascot of the pubcast!!!!
The TSA would suspect your mom as being in on a heist. They always pull my 80 year old mom aside for a pat down. Seems suspicious that she can’t use the scanner because she uses a walker (and still ask every time “can you make it through without it”) and can’t get her arms over her head. Not a good get away driver or terrorist. Guess they think “this lady clearly has nothing to live for, she’s probably hiding explosives”
FIRE!!!! Baby Cat is soooooo dang cute!
You slayed tonight in Knoxville! Thank you!! Hilarious
Love from the DFW area...I hope to see your show next time you are in Dallas
Great pubcast but then again their all great ❤❤❤ I would be interested in learning how to do a fantasy league, I always wanted to learn - so I will tune in for sure😊
please do a football pool break down would love to follow along with you. find you super entertaining thank you for the free content!
I bought five, two dollar bills in 2003, and I have one two dollar bill left. I have given my daughter to give all my grandchildren two dollar bills from the tooth fairy from 2003. My youngest granddaughter received her two dollar bill about three weeks ago.
Pic Nics are the potato straws you’re thinking of.
I have to admit I was a bit more excited when I thought you said Cheetos were returning to India for the people instead of cheetahs. ha. I was all happy for them to be able to finally partake in that tasty finger staining treat. Everyone should have the opportunity to try to get that orange stuff off their face and fingers.
I've been listening to your podcasts but had to come here to see Baby Cat. Adorable! I'm totally here for when you go all in on being a cat lady. Cat trees behind the queens and the cats just staring at you as you do the pubcast, one of them licking the leftover ranch out of your bowl, another sprawled out on your papers....Lol
MORE BABY CAT!!!!!!!!!!
I can hear baby kat talking on audio recording and here:
6:31: All of your back catalog of cd recording bits are under you tube "kathleen madigan - topic"
ruclips.net/channel/UC8IgCozO7g58Xrg7U2yJ_tQ
3:39: Pik Nik is the reg kind that the rest of the US gets and again for some reason they are popular enough overseas that Asian markets in US will carry more than just reg flavor. They don't have them at all super marketchains, maybe that kruger place has them would be in the even more processed area of the chip isle.
Sky New Australia Live on RUclips is the best for all things UK. The funeral commentator was excellent!
Here we go
Thanks Kathleen
You are so right, we have the money to take of so many things here in Merica but only 25% of megawealthy contribute in some way🤷♀️
I was so happy to see babycat
We had potato sticks back in the day too ! And I’m older then u Kathleen! I don’t think they ever went away?
I watched all the Queens stuff because I think it’s curiosity more then anything- glad we don’t have a monarchy!
Try celery salt on your fries, or your Utz 'shoestring' potatoes, or just on plain ripple chips!
"i ThInK hE's TeXtInG pEoPLe!!!1!!" 🤣🤣🤣
Awe cute kitty. 😁💙
I ordered Burger King through the app during Covid and when I went to pick it up the doors were locked. I had to keep keep knocking til they let me in. 😂. I like Burger King but they are always short staffed
Prince Charles Breakfast: Musilex? In Englad that's what they call Granola cereal. I learned that from the author Bill Bryson. TTFN, Ms. P
I always like the gold dollar coins, more than the two dollar bills. I could order the coins from the US Mint, free shipping right to my door, and get miles on my airline credit card. I liked the old Presidents. Nobody knew Millard Fillmore was a president and would question if that was even real money. I felt rich with a pocketful of gold "dubloons". I used them a lot when I traveled for conferences and meetings for work. The coffee shop people would get to know me right away and were really nice. The cab drivers liked getting whole rolls of them, to give to their kids. I only had one person not enjoy getting those coins. But then NPR radio did a Big Expose' about the credit card miles and the US Mint stopped the free shipping. I am still sad about that, and the banks never have the gold dollar coins. Nobody likes the two dollar bills near so much.
"dumb proof" ~ I'm in.
Thank you!
Leave it to you to recommend where to go for tacos based on level of drunkenness 😂
Heads up Asheville termites!!!! Security and ushers aren't letting beer in for Kathleen 😭
Tickets to the Knoxville show!!! Woot
Love you, Kathleen! I have to say if someone knows my job is going away, the sooner I know about it the better. I'm sure there will be severance and hopefully the expectation was set well before the death of their queen.
Politian being followed through a Buckey for TV interview I saw wall of Buckey Jerky wow that looks familiar to me
SPORTS! Yes! Fantasy, general, whatever! I’m in!
FYI, Peacock app free channels has Sky News, British channel. Best coverage and reporting of UK events and European news daily.
How do you get to the show notes?
I think it was Jay's that did shoestring potatoes by me in Illinois
Sooooo you say you read all of these but can't reply. Well, I left a Pompeii calendar for you in Austin. I gave it to Jodi (red curly hair) after the show. We thought it was hilarious when we were there and have kept it as a momento of our trip in 2005. I thought it might be worth giving to you the way other people give you trinkets. I'm thinking you didn't get it and now neither of us has the calendar. 😥
You got a taste of the B, but did you git a good taste of the H-E-B while in Texas town? There is more Texas food junk to explore!
I stopped going to Burger King when they brought out that creepy king mascot in their advertising!
BABY CAT!!
What happened to Baby Shoe Madigan?
There's a scrap metal place in Houston that pays out in $2 bills.
The Queen was the best !!!!!
The last whopper I had, tasted like
chemicals(the beef patty). I haven’t
been back since. And there isn’t any special sauce Kathleen, it just
mayo, ketchup and maybe some
mustard. Also, you can order it minus
any of the toppings.
Here in Brentwood California it was 118 outside. Jesus H. Christ.
What about a termite team? But we have to give half of our winnings to charity. And you have to prove it.
I'd love to know more about fantasy football. It confused me when I tried to do it.
Cheetos are back , 👏I agree Paddles. Ref/ cute reshingly fun and light hearted tonight, thanks we ALL need this. Baby Cat you're welcome totally hot cutie, aren't all baby cats.
Burger King’s Original Chicken Sandwich is the best tasting chicken sandwich by far out there! Try it Kathleen and let us know what you think!
UTZ brand ANYTHING is the BEST !!
After being dragged to multiple bachelor parties for straight dudes, as a gay man was not that fun I just talked to the strippers about their shoes. They had an ATM machine that only had two dollar bills at everyone of the strip club. So you can make it rain for like $100
Sounds like some good stand-up comedy there - talking about shoes 😂
Now I understand why common people are so against the monarchy. One inch of toothpaste? Who does that.
A fairy princess. Was that rhetorical?
In Austin, afterwards, I gave Jodi (tour mgr?) Spiral curly red hair... I gave her a calendar from Pompeii. :( I'm sorry if you thought it was creepy we thought it was funny.
Where might one find the “schnotes”?
The schnotes are at the top of the page. Paddles writes a brief summary about the show. Click on 'show more' and you have found the 'schnotes'.
@@klkinne yea but there’s never a link to anything
I don't see them on RUclips but if I go to her podcast on a podcast app I see them there
Hello Termites!
Quite a pre-meditated, pre-planned heist 😲
Separate sports pubcast, please! :-D Go Tommy!
Burger King - King Charles - why don't they do a joint venture. Win-win-win. Have that creepy Burger King character show up with King Charlie in his ironed pyjamas. The possibilities are endless.
My road trip buddy love burger King and clips coupons better smell when cooking burger also better shakes and onion rings KFC says stick to burgers and onion rings chocolate shakes pretty good 👍
If “It’s not a gas station, it’s a lifestyle” is not Bucky’s (spelling?) actual tagline, it should be
I watched the sun channel on RUclips they had the best coverage The majority was live all night
Andrew gave her the dogs and he did help with walking them I heard
@@tahant00 Was still the saddest part. Such loyal companions over the years. Maybe she’s the reason I love corgis and give them my vote in best in show
My grandmother was very superstitious and she tore the corner off of the $2 bills. It was just the corner, so they were totally useable. I used to see a lot of them like that when I was kid and teen in the '80's-'90's. Whoever wrote they weren't useable in that article just made an assumption because they didn't understand. It doesn't really make sense for people to render the bills unusable.
"It's not a gas station, it's a lifestyle." 💀💀💀
BOOM!
BAM!
My youngest kid says he SAW you with a woman he did not recognize…I could not figure out how he even recognized you, but he says to me, “Just because she’s ‘all old and stuff,’ doesn’t mean I’m STUPID, really Mom,” AND, he had friends who went to your AUSTIN show‼️
Watched the BBC this week aka #mournhub
OK, this is odd, but the Queen was the Queen of Australia, but they aren’t yet saying Chuck will be their king…
I would be interested in learning how to do a fantasy league.
Re: The Queens funeral, Prince Charles sobbing (losing mom is the most painful loss of a parent). Royalty probably has a servant for every little thing, maybe even a handkerchief servant nose wiper for an itchy nose.
I will join your sports podcast to learn how to do a Fantasy League
I will too. Don’t really need the lesson, but learning anything the Madigan way is fun. Toss in a song and teach Schoolhouse Rock style. Will be interesting to see how focused she can stay. I’m showing for the opinions, not the information (the reasons I don’t watch cable news)
COME TO GRAND RAPIDS MICHIGAN, KATHLEEN! DANG IT! 😠😠😠
PIK NIK Brand. Midwest!
