Wow, incredible episode. So glad you made Jim comfortable enough to share about his childhood. When he said "You need to treat yourself like your own best friend" I almost started breaking down at work. Thank you...
I’ve followed Jim his whole career, I met him twice. He’s a great dude. I have never seen him this healthy. It’s good to see another dude around the same age doing well. He has gotten more boring. He’s way funnier when he’s drinking and on drugs. But I still love healthy Jim. Cheers
Jim is one of the most entertaining and naturally funny persons I heard in Interviews. Even amongst comedians. And on top of that it's always interesting and somewhat philosophic, even within a sentence with 5 times the word c*nt in it. 😂, love him. great podcast!
I loved Jim in this, Tom Papa must make him feel truly comfortable, everything he said resonated with me. Followed him for ages, seen everything, but I feel like I really got to know him in this episode. I want to meet him now, I was too intimidated to even hope for that before, but because of this pod I feel like I know how to talk to him. ❤
Resonated for me as well! 😳🥹😬 Glad we all made it through the childhood tumult (putting it lightly;) to enjoy sharing this sincerely hilarious chat. 💪❤🫶
The two of you are such absolute RIDES!!! I've gone twice and I'm only a third the way through!!! I've just written my first comedy special and it's called ' Potent Dad Load'.
Back in Jim's punch in the face days, I made my then girlfriend watch all his material. She loved it. We're now married with a house, daughter, and several animals. His comedy was my test lol
Aussie here. Jim forgot to say that when you’ve wrapped the sausage mixture in the puff pastry, you cut the log into 1 inch pieces before baking. So they’re delicious bite size pieces, usually dipped in tomato sauce (ketchup). Yum 😋
Just a couple nice guys having a conversation about real things - Tom was meant to do this, a great listener - and Jim, man, so genuine and funny - sharing his not-always-fun life’s journey with us, quick-witted - and vulnerable, but in a way that entertained. Good humans
Great interview (or...was it a monologue? 🙂) Tom, I could listen to your laugh all day. Wouldn't need to say a word. You're adorable!! Let us know how the sausage rolls are if you get Jim back. Wouldn't mind getting the recipe. Can't find a decent sausage roll in this place.😚
I’m not famous, but I’m writing my own biography ahead of time. The abusive mother situation. I totally understand that-having had something similar with my mother. Love both of you.
I am an Aussie who hasn't been to America since the 80s, but that was my clear impression at the time there was no good bread in America !! In the 4 months I was there I found one artisimal bakery, the rest was like McDonald's bread.
Why! So many Ads!! Just listened to Tom and Craig Ferguson, not one commercial, I swear. Listened to Jeff and Tom & every Bloody 3 minutes ads. Just subscribed to Breaking Bread and hoping their not all like this segment.
I find it strange that I have no memory of Jim mentioning Billy Connoly as an influence upon his style of comedy. I see more than a few similarities, anybody else? or is it just me?
Oh man! I’m kinda craving lousy tuna hotdish (I’m from Minnesota so it ain’t casserole) with potato chips on top. Now that’s a nostalgia dish (which is positive for me).
That was really entertaining. I've been a Godfrey Nugget fan for a long time but had no idea about his difficulties growing up (besides Gunta being a bitch). Tom is a really good interviewer, he gets interesting info by letting the guest talk. I enjoyed that a lot. Peace.
i share a similar story: found Carlin through bill and ted, then my older brother rented some vhs, from video ezy or blockbuster, one of Carlin, one Pryor. comedy changed my life. thanks Jim for the laughs.
My wife is a tiny little thing that eats fine but can be picky. And I bake bread, grill, and try new things, not tiny. So you remember a couple years ago when the peanut butter, green onion , and ramen noodles were making the rounds online? So I make them, the wife won’t have anything to do with them. Kids love them, I love them she no. So I go out one night and she’s eating the leftovers out of the fridge. I started laughing, and didn’t say a word.
That is brutal about the abuse from the mother while extremely young. && a schoolteacher. The reason why she wanted to have ‘sick children’ was to vicariously suck up sympathy and attention towards and for themselves.
Now that he's not using anymore, perhaps he can lower his ticket prices next time he tours South Africa. Went to Jimmy Carr instead only cause it was cheaper.
Wow, incredible episode. So glad you made Jim comfortable enough to share about his childhood. When he said "You need to treat yourself like your own best friend" I almost started breaking down at work. Thank you...
There’s a reason why the two of you are a couple of my favorite comic. Thanks Gents!
I really enjoyed your interview with Jim. I laughed and giggled right along with both of you. Well done guys.
Me too!
what an incredibly resilient man jim is. i’m a bit stunned hearing about his childhood. great interview with one of the best!
😅😅😅 yous are not from Oz

Fantastic! I would have loved for this to be longer.
JIM JEFFERIES went very deep for the first time that i can remember it was nice to hear ......... love from hamilton ontario canada
I love Jim Jeffries! So funny! And I really needed this today! A fellow Aussie. Loved it!! ❤
I agree. He's naturally very funny
Such a fun episode! Good job, Tom Papa, for being a good listener, as well as funny guy. This, and Kathleen Madigan; my fave 2 podcasts….
Great podcast! I'll listen to both of you talking anytime.

Very much enjoyed this episode with both Jim's openness and Tom's interview style.
This is a pairing I didn’t know I needed. It’s like watching 2 friends from junior high reunite
Love both Tom and Jim in their own right and this was a really fun colliding of worlds. Thanks guys
Bring Jim back so we can see the sausage roll.
I was taken back by his honesty and introspective nature. Much respect for you both.
This was the Best! Thank You!
Such a good interview, Jim you are so honest love it, you turned out great regardless of the crap.

Great interview
IDKAT is 1 of the best podcasts ever.
...and rewatchable -- always funny -- Jim's hilarious (always on fire) = an absolute gift.
Jim mentions sausage rolls on a popular podcast >> they are now legitimately Jim’s famous sausage rolls™️!
Back in Jim's punch in the face days, I made my then girlfriend watch all his material. She loved it. We're now married with a house, daughter, and several animals. His comedy was my test lol
I really appreciate Jim being so honest about his background. 💖
Aussie here. Jim forgot to say that when you’ve wrapped the sausage mixture in the puff pastry, you cut the log into 1 inch pieces before baking. So they’re delicious bite size pieces, usually dipped in tomato sauce (ketchup). Yum 😋
Great show. You two just shooting the shit was awesome. And hell yes you should have Jim back to bring those sausage rolls.

I’m so jealous! That sausage in pastry sounds amazing.
Great hang💖✨🤣
Baffled you have never heard of them, - sausage rolls.
(in Britain it can be a slang term for Poles, Polish people)
@@De5O54 I’ve had perogi (sp?) but Jim’s sound way better!
fantastic episode. Love that these guys are so genuine after being heavyweights for decades.
Came into my algorithm, and sub. straight after hearing Jim’s chat.
This was really enjoyable.
Soder, Normand & Jefferies sounds like the ultimate trio!
I have missed Jim Jefferies. What a great interview!
He's been on 50 podcasts in the last month, where have you been?
Great Show Guys !
one of the funniest people to exist.
“It’s like Jim shows up and saves Geoffrey”, damn that was a perfect sentence for the conversation Tom
Brilliant Gents!
great chat thenkyou
Two hilarious people. ❤
Good guest....good conversation
Tom must be a great interviewer getting all that out of Jim. Please have him back on - time flew by while I was laughing along with you.
He’s a gent, and he’s had a difficult life, I respect him.
The public has responded Bring on the Sausage Rolls Geoffrey!
Great fun the both of you.
I’m not famous, but I’m writing my own biography ahead of time. The abusive mother situation. I totally understand that-having had something similar with my mother. Love both of you.
Long live Greggs Sausage Roll !!
?! You don’t go for the Steak Bake.?
@@De5O54Sausage Roll is King !!
i met jim once. good dude
Well done!
Good interview. Let the guy sausage roll.

More Jim and sausage rolls! Excellent interview!
jim jefferies rules
The Big Gig was a fantastic show. It was also on Tuesday nights.
I find it strange that I have no memory of Jim mentioning Billy Connoly as an influence upon his style of comedy. I see more than a few similarities, anybody else? or is it just me?
10 mins in and still hasnt ate any bread.... what are you waiting for?! It looks delicious 😊
It drives me crazy
Oh man! I’m kinda craving lousy tuna hotdish (I’m from Minnesota so it ain’t casserole) with potato chips on top. Now that’s a nostalgia dish (which is positive for me).
I have an under and over electric blanket for my bed 😅 upstate NY gets chilly😂
Bread from pretty much everywhere else in the world is sooooo much better than American bread! 😂
That was really entertaining. I've been a Godfrey Nugget fan for a long time but had no idea about his difficulties growing up (besides Gunta being a bitch). Tom is a really good interviewer, he gets interesting info by letting the guest talk. I enjoyed that a lot. Peace.
very common in old japanese restaurants that the chef would straight up punch line cooks for messing up
😮
A _’stooshie’_ is a fight in a Japanese restaurant. (that joke only works in Scottish).
i share a similar story: found Carlin through bill and ted, then my older brother rented some vhs, from video ezy or blockbuster, one of Carlin, one Pryor. comedy changed my life. thanks Jim for the laughs.
How does this have less than a 1000 up votes? Maybe it will by 24 hours.
Reminds me of how l quit smoking. Smoked a carton of pj30s in the last week then ate a carton of fruit tingles the seek after. Got very sick but.
Sausage roll also known as a “rat’s coffin” in Australia
Oh Geoffrey, can i just call you George with a J? :P XD
Very insane vid title
Jim's wife is a vegan like I'm a non smoker.
Come back with sausage rolls😍
My wife is a tiny little thing that eats fine but can be picky. And I bake bread, grill, and try new things, not tiny. So you remember a couple years ago when the peanut butter, green onion , and ramen noodles were making the rounds online? So I make them, the wife won’t have anything to do with them. Jim said, “…late night shows…” & for a second I thought he said, “…like nachos…”! HaHa!!
American bread is soo sweet! I don’t understand.
Think he is forgetting about fast forward and full frontal 😅 funny as fuck back in the days
That is brutal about the abuse from the mother while extremely young. && a schoolteacher. The reason why she wanted to have ‘sick children’ was to vicariously suck up sympathy and attention towards and for themselves.
Make that man some damn sausage rolls!
OTTAWA DATE, PLEASE!!
Sorry, didn't mean to shout.
Try a winter in Canada
Jim talking so humbly about maybe catching some extra fans. Tix start at almost $90 a seat lol.
Sorry, Jim, your wife is NOT a vegan.
Yo - American restaurants really are that dysfunctional. All sorts of abuse by the tiniest little dictators possible.
also, his mom and mine have too many things in common. it sucks.
68-86f = 20-30c, easy peasy.
Ugh! 2024 49 years old Australian and I'm just learning that Wayne's World was a skit! WTF!
enjoy the sausage rolls they will be good
Now that he's not using anymore, perhaps he can lower his ticket prices next time he tours South Africa. Went to Jimmy Carr instead only cause it was cheaper.
Great episode. Why don't you have Theo Von on here? he'd be fun also.
The Finn's call what you call a sausage roll....pasties. it has the same filling but made into a type of large turnover. Man I could use a pasty!!
That's brilliant, stock pile Lasagna made by your students.
Jeff was 100 x better than Marc Maron.
God bless Geoffrey sp?
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Jim’s hair looks like a scaffolding for a construction project on his forehead.
"Grandma didn't pay for you" :)
