- I bought a set of Taco RC ND filters for my DJI Mavic Pro, and this is a test of the ND32 filter. I also included some clips using a LUT from IWLTBAP. The ND, or neutral density, filter acts like sunglasses for your drone. Highlights are less likely to get blown out, and you're able to achieve lower shutter speeds for a more cinematic look.
Production Notes:
Recorded with DJI Mavic Pro drone (settings: D-Cinelike, Soft (-1, 0, 0)). Edited in Final Cut Pro X with the W-9660-STD LUT from IWLTBAP.

Thank you!
Thanks great vid - Who'd of thought youd need ND 32/64 in the UK ;-}
Its hard to judge with youtube compression, did you notice any loss of sharpness?
I haven't noticed any loss of sharpness with these filters. They're just like putting sunglasses on your drone. The Mavic Pro is known for having sharpness issues when shooting trees, but that happens with or without the filters, and you can compensate by setting the sharpness setting higher.
Great video! I just bought an ND32 filter for my mavic, but not 100% satisfied with the footage I'm getting. What are the ISO and Shuter setting you used for this video??
Thank you! I actually just left my shutter and ISO settings on auto and used the PolarPro app to determine which filter to use on this - which happened to be ND32 based on how bright it was. I was shooting at 30fps, and I don’t believe the shutter got down to my target of 1/60. It ended up around 1/100. You can also use the +/- EV wheel to help get your exposure where you want it. I don’t suggest going over .7 (or whatever is closest to that) in either direction. The PolarPro app is definitely recommended for making sure you’re using the right ND filter.
TBH, I liked the footage without the filter in this video!
nd32 all sharpness and detail is gone. Poor quality ND.
So, everything gets unfocused/unsharp/not crisp image with the filter. Great. Now I know I won't buy a filter.
Not true. Is the opposite. You get much more details on a bright light if you use ND Filters. But only when needed and you have to manually change the video settings accordingly.
