Love the videos! Have myself a rd1 CRV. That I’m looking into doing the b16 head swap so these have helped massively 🤝
Rebuild the block..skim the block to get some higher compression..get ctr cams..it should make 200whp with proper build using phk pistons+ctr cams
🍻
I was wondering in the first video if anything else had been done to support it as I heard that upgrading the oil pump was very necessary. Looks like you got that sorted in later videos. Checking this out as I'm looking at doing the same thing in my EF. B20B with an eventually changeup to a vtec head. Definitely subbing to see more of what you do.
Nice 🎉 I thought I was watching a movie with that introduction 😅
Love it bro ❤
Nice video sound pretty good u should shin the oil pump
I'm rockin the ACL race oil pump on my B20vtec that thing has plenty of oil pressure
Totally buying it. Thanks man!
I see you decided to call me out at 6:58 🤣. I think once you get your VTEC oil pressure issues resolved, my little R18 8th Gen Civic might have some REAL trouble keeping up with your CR-V.
No way. The crv is not fast.
So I got a obd1 p75 with hondata. In order for it to stay running I have to give it gas. On a stock virgin p28 it starts with no issues. But I saw you added 10% of fuel across the map before even starting. I put on a p30 b16 map do you thinking adding 10% would solve that issue?
Nice video bro! Oil pressure at idle should be 20 psi and full throttle should be 70 psi. I think. I hope your oil pump is fine and maybe invest in an oil pressure gauge and oil pressure regulator.
Thanks man, will definitely need a gauge for hooning around. 🍻
@@Donnythelatemodeltech Dude, this awd CRV is 🔥! Add a turbo, it's dangerous for yours and mine 32 😆
@@doubleclutchin6860 thought it was only fwd?
@@915Performanceit is only front wheel drive
Sorry to hear about the bicep situation! I just got my b20vtec all buttoned up but I’m a little confused on where the two wires go from the pressure switch, I hooked my solenoid up to a wire on the ECU, then I grounded the pressure switch to transmission and it completely melted the wire by the time I got back home 😮 maybe the Amazon pigtail I bought for it was reverse polarity? Thanks!
Message me on instagram, I’ll send you some pictures of my ecu, and the wiring, tomorrow.
I’m right in the middle of installing an oil pump on it.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech I’m on a p28 I hooked my vtec solenoid to A4 then disabled the pressure sensor in my smanager, but I’ve been hearing A4 needs to be jumped to D6 I think in order to bypass it? Looking forward to it thanks man!
Shim ur oil pump sping with a washer. Cheap easy way to make more oil pressure.
🤛
Very good! I'm building a b20 vtec. Which head gasket should I use?

I was wondering where you got the VTEC ecu from? I plan on doing the conversion, but I don't know where to get the ecu. love the videos man!
Look for a p28 ecu. That has Hondata s300 or a stock one you can send in. I bought mine from a friend.
I’ve been thinking about doing a vtec conversion but my knowledge of cars ain’t there yet. I do have a first gen crv but It’s a 4 speed.

Cool swap dude! Im doing a similar swap on my EK4. B20 block with b16a head. ITR intake manifold,
With that, where did you plum in your PCV valve? Since the b20 doesn't have the breather box like the b18c/b16a.
Thanks man. Yeah I haven’t done anything with the pcv yet. Planning on working on it when I do the boost.
I dig the build but if lifted be alot better awd but nicely done
I have half the all wheel drive parts to swap in.
Did you make sure you have the vtec dowel and o ring under the cam cap? I believe 3/4
Yep
You need to lower vtec cross over to 5000 rpm . It because b20 gears are long so vtec set to high
Vtec souding like on and off and on ? Does it feel strong when vtec pops cause if your engaging it at b16 rpm thats too high, 4800-5200 rpm with b20 bigger the motor sooner vtec activation
when I get the new pump installed , I play around the with tune and see what happens.. thanks !
What made you choose b16 over b18? I would like to do vtec in my crv at some point
I just happen to have it from another build
When creating my base map in honda tuning suite it asked what trans... what would I put if im running the stock b20 auto trans?
What ecu are you using?
@@Donnythelatemodeltech chipped p328 that's auto
You have to run a Vtec engine oil pump.
Thanks , on it. Lol.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech No problem, I just remember while getting my parts list compiled for the swap people mentioned a b18C1 oil pump in case you decide to go b20 Vtec.
@@CaptainTexas92 that’s wrong info all 96 and up pumps are the same pressure ls gsr and b20
@@frankier9125 that’s correct I made a mistake. For the life of me I thought the CRV used a lower output psi pump due to it not having piston bore squirters and no Vtec. The pump clearances are probably just bad enough to drop pressure at high rpm.
All B series oil pump are identical.
Could you tell me the whole price on this cylinder head swap? I want to do this on my non- vtec b20 crv
Is mostly 2nd hand parts, so I have really no idea.
