Spent $2,400 on my UTB18 just in replacement parts they are arriving still so it's not built yet but I have 2 so I will be able to compare it to the stock one when it's finished , only thing stock left is the cage, rock light's, head light's, replacing everything else ( got my steering link's from GPM )
My son and I have UTB 18 s. We both have Vanquish wheels with JC. Concept 3.8s, I use Scx10 links to extend rear for rear steering. Otherwise all of the Axial upgrades. Links have smooth transition. I replaced radio and running sidewinder 4 with stock motor. Looking forward to your motor. We need servo s and motors.
Yeah now they do for few bucks more. Sucks cause the first bunch came with plastic. Paid way more to get the brass alone. It's sad how that worked out. $20 sum plus shipping stand alone. We were put in a tight spot and taken advantage of.
I upgraded to the HH 380 Revolver/Rhino 40A esc. Lot of power. Too much for the plastic trans gears. Installed TGH metal gears. Then broke a front axle. Lots of power and great slow speed control. I recommend Hardcore RC links with the 10mm wb extension option.
Maybe you could develop a Holmes esc/receiver so that people buying these newer trucks have a good aftermarket replacement. Maybe you could have different models compatible with different radios. Spektrum, futaba, flysky, etc. Just a thought 🤔
Sometimes I see all brass axles and stuff for these. Maybe I should try another smaller truck....for some reason 1/10 is just. A sweet spot. Lists lists lists...... Good call. Shorter shocks with light springs front stiff rear Never had plastic links....wow somsoft. Brass that thing. Tires wheels!!!
Heh, I'm shopping for machined transmission gears this morning. I broke the stock ones last night slooowwww crawling around my yard. So far CM-Mini ESC & Rev380 = 2 / Mini-Capra stock transmission gears & front axles = 0. I am loving the low speed control and torque though. I'm also using the LP500, it works great and I upgraded the suspension & steering links to stainless steel, I got them from ie rc. I preemptively upgraded the portals to the TGH Standard Front / Under-drive Rear gears.
I've got the incision s8e shocks in mine and they work great. The stock springs fit perfectly. You'll want to use the incision offset pivot balls at the top to have clearance between the shock collar and frame
I have seen steering and suspension links and replacement axles with aluminum housings, c hubs, and knuckles for sale on ebay. Is a pinion gear change possible on it?
Dlux front shafts with brass knuckles, delux tungsten weight hangers, od the front or ud the rear, tires and wheels for sure(stock roll bad on side hill after weight). I need to add a little weight on the rear. I'm at 65 front bias and i think it's too much
Do yourself a favor change out the front axles to the Dlux fab front axle shafts. Snap, snap, on the factories.
Put a scale Chevy small block where the gas tank is
I miss you messing around with the crawlers. You so busy doing other things I don't get it wrong the topics are still good and I'm still here.
Desert Lizzie’s shocks!

Which brushed? I need 2 to pair with my 1080s
Dlux makes a Utb18 specific shock set that looks really nice
cool, I'll check em out

I'm enjoying this, I wish I knew more about parts for crawlers, but back than all I tried was to make a brushless ESC for crawlers lol.
Treal has brass knuckles and portal covers. They also have a link set as well. Very good quality and easy to install.
thx!
Dlux front universal axles are a must. The stock CVs are worthless .They come with modified brass knuckles, so you can knock out two upgrades in one.

Judging by the amount of videos you make on this truck makes me want to buy one more
it's really fun
@@HolmesHobbies Thats awesome. Now it’s just trying to justify getting another one.

If you want to keep the same remote you can use a sr315 reciever dlux brass knuckle and shafts are the way to go
I didn't notice a bind button on the transmitter. How do you go about binding it?
Yep, swapping the receiver is what I did, worked perfectly.
The Dlux axles are a must.
I have the same incision shocks running without springs. Works great.
sweet!
Best replace the Canuter valve while you’re in there
hahaha.... i watch your UTB18 video uploaded from a couple months ago just yesterday... just now...notification from you and Viola........
the universe is trying to tell you something

is that offset pivot balls a separate item?
@MauzyrockRC Nope it's the one for the shaft end that comes in the kit

Will a Hobbywing 1080 fit in the UTB18? Wonder if a Furitek Lizard Pro would work. Lighter but the 1080 has more tuning options
Wheels/tires!
Dlux shock set Axial Mini Capra UTB18.!!

Team garage hack gear reduction set.
Cs41 axles 😅
Awkward encounters? Are you advertising for the tugbuddy?
maybe...
Stock electronics are meant for a mediocre demo at best
yep!
