- I got to play the prologue for the Star Wars Squadrons Campaign... and it blew my mind! I'll talk details of the Star Wars Squadrons story, what I thought of campaign gameplay, and more on today's video!

How cool would it be if there was an option to have Aurabesh instead of English on the displays? I think a lot of fans would go for it.

All of the objectives you've described are something straight out of TIE Fighter or X-Wing Alliance -- my childhood games. I've been waiting for a game like this for actual decades, I'm so excited!
That makes 2 of us, there hasn't been a good dedicated star wars flight sim since xwa.

From what you described, its going to be jaw dropping in vr. Id never believe id be pre ordering an EA game, but 2020 has been 1 crazy year
It would be cool when it would be possible to change the story by winning or losing in the battles, I would lose all the time as the terrorists or the rebels as they are called here
In all honesty I’ve never understood why the rebels are called terrorists. If anything the Empire were terrorists as their entire navy was built around the idea of scaring people into submission (Tarkin Doctrine). The rebels never used terror tactics iirc, the only hit military targets

In all seriousness though the rebels could have been seen as terrorists because there were many people, even completely innocent people on the Death Star that didn’t even know that alderan was destroyed. Many of them worked on the space station as janitors etc. so that they could provide for their family and the rebels killed them all. On the other hand the empire did use fear tactics, slavery, and many other things reminiscent of an oppressive govt.

StarLordZ6 That’s true. But that very Death Star killed a *lot* more innocent people. It’s one of those “for the greater good situations”. And before someone says Alderaan was for the greater good, it could have been handled by just arresting the government. Plus, anyone who worked on the Death Star knew the risks. They were working on a military base, not their back yard
7:43 oh my gosh seeing the hull breach and oxygen leak out like that is so cool. I’m really happy with the amount of detail they’re putting into this game. Completely exceeds my original expectations.

Oh my GOD! Eck I don’t know the last time I was this excited for a game. I don’t know if I’ve seen a game made with such passion in recent years. You can tell this is the work of devs who truly care

@@cltstbts_ I'd fly any Imperial TIE-class ship any day, but the Interceptor is just perfect. The Fighter, the Bomber and the Reaper seem fun as well.
Would love to see a capital ship video! Also can you make a video about all the things you can take out on the capital ships? Like can you take out the tractor beams and what a the critical points on the MC 75? Might not have enough time figure it out, but would love to see that. Loving all the Squadrons content keep up the good work!!!

@@lecapitaine5937 It's a matter of semantics. When the ship is pressurized with a gaseous mix imitative of a human world, that's an atmosphere. It also happens to be air.
In the old X-Wing series of books, the phrase "venting atmosphere" was used.

the biggest surprise of this gameplay is seeing that you can stop mid-flight and rotate your angle in any direction you want to avoid hitting anything or simply just drift in space like its real space combat in elite dangerous
Last mission - I'm hoping Jakku, with the ravager takedown as the final scene, watching the Starhawk rip it down.

It would be really cool if there was a mission in the campaign that instead of piloting a fighter you have to use the turret on the ghost or some other light freighter.

I’ve seen a lot of excitement of Hera and Wedge but I’m pretty commander Hask is in this game. Why not the same hype? He didn’t defect, maybe we’ll see a continuation of his story. Like everyone wanted to see, the empire after Endor.

@@sirboomsalot4902 why tho?? It made perfect sense in the story and it was set after the death star and most wouldn't have realised they were on the wrong side untill operation cinder started. Then Thwy realises and thays what happens in the game. I feel as if folk just look for reason to hate battlefront 2
michael gallacher That is true, however the issue is that the story was marketed as being from the Empires point of view, no defection mentioned. If they hadn’t emphasized that it would have been fine
@@sirboomsalot4902 well it would be stupid to tell you the big twist in the story before playing it. And it wasn't marketed as a full empire campaign is was marketed as the first time seeing stuff from the empires point of view. Which is exactly what happens in the game
Was the tie advanced handed to various ace pilots or extremely gifted pilots like Vader
Vader used the Advanced x1, dignitaries and other important figures like Inquisitors used TIE Advanced’s.

Is the campaign closer in feel to the old xwing games or is it similar to that more... arcade smorgasbord we see in multiplayer? Do we get bigger maps, more downtime, pacing, tempo, something more simulator-ish than this?
The HUDs look great, but I'm kinda concerned about screen clutter. Just looks like there's too much on screen i.e. objects in your cockpit

I can see the love put into this... That MOBA description is beyond disheartening though. When I play this I don't want to be going "Rogue Squadron is better" because we have the benchmark and producer's need to do better than that, not try to sell customizability.

Blame the Princess of Alderaan for that...She lied about Dantooine. The Alderaan system was a huge thorn in Palpatine's plan withs the Empire so it had to go. I will be hoping in my TIE ready to take down anything that resembles a rebel in that game.
