Yeah, I'm really not a fan of mollycoddling every cranky whiner. Space is, shockingly, mostly empty space. Not hitting something at full speed shouldn't be a problem. Also what is truly awful is consider just how many ships were destroyed in star wars by way of their opponent leading them on a difficult to fly canyon run, or building weave that results in them cratering into an overpass. But in this game, apparently, they just bounce off and continue to follow? That's really bad.
I think a head on collision at max speed will probably kill you. These are ships that can fly in an out of atmospheres at high speed with no preparation and handle crazy G’s. It would expect it to hold up at least a little bit for slower and glancing collisions
yeah that is the one thing that is bothering me, come on how did they not think about that, especially when the fighter grinds the side of the ship it just bounces like a basket ball, wings should be ripping off and you should be losing all control until your demise
@@Lozwave I think they thought of that, but did not want it to be that you lose a game because everyone just crashes. I have an idea on how s-foils could work, by default, you would be in attack mode, (S-foils separated). But, when you would forward more power to the engines, they would switch into cruise mode, (S-foils connected). This would work for the U-wing and X-wing. This is honestly my idea on how deploying s-foils would work in a way that doesn’t add a new feature or change the way the game is played for each fighter. The s-foils changing would not have any performance upgrades aside from the ones given by switching the power to make sure the fighters stay balanced.

My answer for question 50 is the story mode. It seems really interesting switching between republic and empire and seeing their different perspectives about each, and learning more about the Star hawk project

Hi! I am from sweden probaly one of your biggest fans it would make my day if you could respond with hmm because I like yoda and he is my favourite character
I’ll definitely be playing this in VR as much as possible. From my experience, VR gives you more peripheral vision. In the X-Wing VR mission, being able to loo directly to your left or right to find your target helped immensely. Was also easier to focus a fighter down with your vision and zero your ship in on where you were looking. If this plays like that, I’m gonna be so happy
I have waited for a game like this for a long time. I'm hoping that maybe just MAYBE they'll add a Battle Station-like game mode. The Endor Trench run in this era of gaming is a dream for me. As for my ship of choice... "The Incom T-65 X-Wing is the fighter that killed [all 3 Death Stars]. An almost perfect balance of speed, maneuverability, and defensive shields, which makes this the fighter of choice for Rogue Squadron, except when the mission profile disallows it." Says it all, really.
Honestly, I hope it'll be fecking tough in the beginning. Flying ain't supposed to be easy and it'll make it more fun to learn when you fly through space in your favourite ship. At that, you can collect cool cosmetics and skins and whatnot. I preordered it yesterday, can't wait.
There is definitely an advantage when in VR mode. Being able to look to the left, right, and up while flying is very helpful. How much of an advantage? I guess that is relative to who is playing.
Hmm... Probably support. I know most people won't agree on that, but Support is usually my favorite class in video games. I'm looking forward to all the upgrades and changes you can make to your ship. I LOVE how there is two different currencies, too! (Since I would never by cosmetics over abilities)
In regards to the "it looks like you're going slow" issue... yes as Bombastic says, it's important to remember that out in the vastness of space without visual reference points passing by it would be difficult to get a sense of speed. Heck, at high enough altitude in a real-life plane the world goes by beneath you "slowly" even if you're going 500mph. But the second thing to keep in mind is... starfighter combat in Star Wars was very deliberately modeled off of aerial dogfights in World War I and World War II... which took place at relatively low speeds (say 100mph in WW1 and 300mph in WW2), at close range, with guns only... because it's more fun and intelligible for movie audiences to watch. Recreating that feel in a video game so we can all live out our X-Wing pilot fantasies probably DOES mean that the ships in the game are moving fairly "slowly" because if they were doing supersonic speeds then the maps would need to be much larger and the entire style of gameplay would change.
I hope they include more ships later on, like a stealth ship (TIE Phantom & Z-95), Heavy Bomber (TIE Advanced & B-Wing), & Super Ship with impossibly difficult controls but infinite rewards (TIE Defender & E-Wing). Maybe even heavy but clunky ships, like the Sorusub Preybird & YT-class freighters.
I enjoy the shield system and that the empire has no shields. It shows how the empire is more of an offensive fleet compared to the more defensive rebel squadron.
I really hope this follows similar to the X-Wing miniatures board game, where they slowly release more and more fighters as "waves" .. which could just be paid DLC. There are tonnes of Starfighters that could be added, not to mention extra factions such as Scum & Villainy, New Order, Resistance etc.
I like how they actually got the correct size for capital ships like the star destroyer you can actually fly around and beside it and feel how large it is
One thing I noticed about playing Squadrons and that I miss from the original Star Wars flight sims was the head-lock on a target. There wasn't a key bind option for that in the settings. Hope that ability in the final game because otherwise, it feels like you're having "tunnel vision" lol
Quick question for squadrons. If your getting shot at from behind can you reverse engines and put shields at the front and do a 180 degree turn and shoot the enemy? I would love to do that if it’s a thing.
I honestly don’t want ‘Hero Ships’. It just doesn’t fit in
Edit: I’m very happy how they handled the Tie Defender and B-Wing. Good job devs 👍

I'm just excited to play the game. I love Starfighter Assult and the fact that this could be even better makes me super keen to play it.
I would die if they remake X-wing and Tie Fighter in this engine or DLC
late question: can you look around your cockpit with joystick/mouse, like some racing games or can you only look around with vr?
This game had four (!) predecessors and none of them was called Battlefront. Learn at least about X-Wing vs TIE Fighter from 1997.
yes, it really hrt my feelings
But it is battlefront,it nothing like xwing
Most excited for VR in squadrons can not wait to play this game with full immersion
How many times did he says immersive?
FJHT Perfect at least once.
Looking forward to flying a tie interceptor in vr instruments only. Dream come true! Now we need wing commander 3 remade in vr!
7:12 Thank You Bombastic appreciated!!!
The thing I am most excited for is the gameplay. Looks fun.
An almost perfect balance of speed, maneuverability, and defensive shields, which makes this the fighter of choice for Rogue Squadron, except when the mission profile disallows it."
Says it all, really.
Thank God bombers will actually be bombers. It ticked me off so much in Battlefront two where bombers were just basically heavy fighters.
Like having them bomb units during ground battles or be super effective against objectives would have been sweet but they butchered it.
Can’t wait for this to come out! May buy a vr headset just for this!
Hmm... Probably support. I know most people won't agree on that, but Support is usually my favorite class in video games.
I'm looking forward to all the upgrades and changes you can make to your ship. I LOVE how there is two different currencies, too! (Since I would never by cosmetics over abilities)
That drift is gonna be nuttyyyyyyy
From what I’ve seen, it appears that power regulating looks a lot like that of Elite: Dangerous (a really awesome open galaxy space exploration game)
Yeah, I'm pretty excited about the similarities with ED. Feel like I need to go play that a lot between now and October 2 to brush up my pilot skills!
Which borrowed that mechanic from the original X-wing, lol.
I enjoy the shield system and that the empire has no shields. It shows how the empire is more of an offensive fleet compared to the more defensive rebel squadron.
@@Goferek5 very true it always seemed like they are
Id love for seperatist and republic ships to be added, mostly because I think the “cockpit” of one of the droid fighters would be super interesting
Can't wait to hop onto it in VR, coming right from Elite Dangerous.
I really hope this follows similar to the X-Wing miniatures board game, where they slowly release more and more fighters as "waves" .. which could just be paid DLC. There are tonnes of Starfighters that could be added, not to mention extra factions such as Scum & Villainy, New Order, Resistance etc.
I like how they actually got the correct size for capital ships like the star destroyer you can actually fly around and beside it and feel how large it is
Most excited to use a HOTAS in a Star Wars game. And I'm looking forward to the Tie Fighters and A-Wings.
Your vids are so calming
One thing I noticed about playing Squadrons and that I miss from the original Star Wars flight sims was the head-lock on a target. There wasn't a key bind option for that in the settings. Hope that ability in the final game because otherwise, it feels like you're having "tunnel vision" lol
Quick question for squadrons. If your getting shot at from behind can you reverse engines and put shields at the front and do a 180 degree turn and shoot the enemy? I would love to do that if it’s a thing.
