First Rule - always see if Motors Spin FIRST ! saves alot of time.
if it does not spin freely - it's Junk !!!
Especially important on - Condenser Fan motors & Roof Exhausters. a simple spin saves tons of time.
no amount of cleaning or capacitors is going to fix it.
    Good video !

I just changed one of those the other day. CaptiveAire (Stratovent) exhaust fan. Same issue pretty much, cap went bad and overheated the motor. I put a new cap on and got 2 days out of it. Just enough time to get a new motor ordered in. It was like 185 on Partstown.

Why remove the speed control? In my area, they use the speed controls to balance the building air. Now you have Full CFM and could be throwing off the air balance.

It was running full throttle already. Correct on the balance but it’s still pretty good. Neutral/positive. The ac units all have dampers which is why it flew.

When I have these motors go bad I order a power pack. A lot easier than replacing the motor.

Completely agree. But needed the exhaust running today so can’t wait 2 days for the kit. Way easier install for sure

Bzzt... Don't touch the shiny bits. Or let them touch each other.

If you don’t mind, who in Atlanta had the OEM motor? Thanks!

Let me guess, they don’t do regular maintenance
