I don’t know why some people are so anti-car wash. Throw 10 bucks a couple times in the winter. My father’s old Silverado lived its whole life in the northeast. 300K miles and very limited rust.
I tried getting a car wash subscription for a couple of months this winter, turns out I has to chose a more expensive option to get the desired undercarriage wash, and the degreaser they used was watery junk. Your results may vary though
On this situation, I suspect it wouldn't help at all, my dad just sold his 04 as parts with 80k and it looked about as bad. Every time it was out in the winter, it got washed, but it didn't save it. Even after we stopped driving it in the winter at all, it continued to rust pretty bad. The sitting just kills them after the rust starts. The only solution would have been to fluid film or oil bath it. It is also very dependent on what county you live in, some use way more salt than others
