I was cleaning a QY0274A today. Looked thru all my Manitowac manuals and noticed I didnt have that one. I had the B model and 4 more other spiral hand manuals over the years. hard to keep up with them. I hate how they want you to squeeze the plastic pins to remove a part like the curtain or thickness probe and I know that one of these days its going to brake doing that. Good video, we always remove the ice and use nickel safe, especially for liability reasons. trash can with a plastic bag does wonders. Have the customer do it to save him some money and my back...

Wish I had seen this one day earlier.... BRAND NEW machine with only two months of use.. my city water supply adds some sort of chemical that is clogging ice machines with scale that looks like crystals all over town. I had four machines go out overnight , two old ice-o-matics from the 90s and two brand new Indigos.. Thanks for the vids, will be back in early New Years Day to remove those lower evaporator trough and checking out those valves thanks to your tips.

Just a tip..once you get the water pump off I'm able to get my hand up to unstuck the Miller connector for the water level sensor. Might be easier than going over the top.
Love the videos Dave keep em coming!!!!
Ps try and get a video of you cleaning a Manitowoc flaker!

awesome job dave...i deal with this multiple times a week...i clean like 5+ ice machines a week and have to go thru all that. I get ice machine cleaner and sanitizer by the gallon...use spray bottle, 3M scotch brite sponges i buy by the dozen...subways are the worst. Sometimes 2+ hours to clean these nasty messes. Glad to see you are showing these people how to do it the right way like I do...most techs hit the clean button and pour cleaner in then turn it back on when its done. Then they call me up to clean it again the right way. Again....excellent job 👍

I used to have a whirlpool under counter ice maker which used a cutting grid instead of a chill plate the size of the cubes. Pump went bad, corroded up and they wanted an arm and a leg for it. Got a 20 dollar aquarium submersible pump, dropped it in and ran for years like that until the compressor finally gave. Shorted winding. Its crazy how much CRAP thats in our water supply!

Now this is honest to goodness ice machine service and cleaning! GREAT JOB DAVE!!!! To do the job right, it takes time. Honestly though Dave, that was a one year old ice machine? Dang! If you want something equally bad, try a place that makes their own bread, and serves Subs, hint hint, sandwiches. I've seen pink "goo" building in those machines and is hard to eradicate, due to the yeast from the bread cooking inside the establishment. Again, great job DUDE!!!! Congo-Rats from San Diego!

As a technician he should make the managers or owners clean the parts with mold on them. Teach them a lesson to not be so careless, clueless and stupid for something that could cost big bucks. He can do his techy job. Lol what a waste of money that's it pay a technician just to clean your moldy ice machine parts. I got fired for making pizza order mistakes I don't know who's dumber at wasting money.

Ice makers are nasty, if everyone knew where ice came from nobody would want ice in there drink..lol I put in a Manitowoc in 2013 and it hasn't been cleaned yet I wonder how it still works.

Depends on location of ice machine. They have another machine outside and it only gets a little scale on it.
