Family says woman, children who died in Renton crash were carpooling home from school

- Authorities said four people died, including three children, after an 18-year-old driver allegedly caused a multi-vehicle crash in Renton on Tuesday afternoon. Three other people were critically injured and an eighth person suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The crash involving four vehicles happened around 12:45 p.m. in the 19200 block of 140th Avenue Southeast on March 19, according to fire officials. The King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) identified a 38-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, a 12-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy as the victims killed in the crash.

The other driver is also in the hospital. I don't think we can just jump to the conclusion that he's a criminal though, he has not been tried and convincted. Everything needs to be investigated. Hypothetically, say the other car suddenly pulled out in front of him. In a case like this, he would not be the one at fault.
Its our job to have sympathy for those that have died. Its the courts job to punish those responsible for causing it.

This could happen to any of us in King County. Be happy to be alive everyday. There are too many people in this world that don't care about other people's lives.
4 counts of vehicular homicide. Sentences to be served consecutively, no time off. This will insure he is removed from society for a very very long time.

The cause was an 18yo kid speeding and crashing into their vehicle.
This is like the 5th story the station has done regarding this accident, it’s called a follow up and this story is strictly about telling the family side of the story

Yes, the 18 yr old male who is suspected to be at fault is under police guard at the hospital treating him.

this is so sad. the police should set up a speed trap on that street. hide somewhere with a radar gun. anyone doing 10+ over the speed limit gets pulled over and ticketed. i have the same problem on my street. people think it is their own personal drag strip doing 100+ in a 45mph zone. its dangerous.

It's okay, you don't have to show me a photo of the attacker. A more honorable news network than you guys showed me the suspect's name, photo, and well, let's just say that the "usual suspects" strike again..
The name made me think he was some affluent, preppy kid, if you catch my drift. That could still be the case, but just not what his name makes you think he looks like.

If they're calling him a teen then you know he's wyte. If it's a blk kid then the headline reads "blk man crashes into..."... So yes, Chase Daniel Jones is a protected specie, but I think you had a different race in mind.

It's time to start using speed cameras. This attitude that speeding is okay as long as you don't get caught is like the 'poor guy, he only had a couple drinks...' attitude towards drinking & driving.

Accidents happen when something can’t be avoided, crash is when someone whether driving drunk, high, distracted, speeding or running red lights.
