    The shift to second is so smooth. I been trying for a year and half to figure out how to get it into second as smooth as that. When I do it, it jerks a lot or it takes too long and I lose all the power and traffic is right behind me from a stop

    Will be installing the Tomei this weekend. Is the exhaust really that loud? I am super excited

    • @thatbluesube
      @thatbluesube  Год назад +5

      like I put at the begging of the video I had the seats down so it makes it like 5x louder. It is the best exhaust for the STI hands down. You made the right choice. Easy to daily drive with. Your gonna love it!

      way less drone man. I had aftermarket catted downpipe and Tomei. it sounds like music.

      unless you have an STI it won't be loud

      Yes I have, but I got something recently that is stopping me from wrapping it any different color any time soon. you'll see why eventually...

    DOes the car feel outdated compared to the type R ?

    • @thatbluesube
      @thatbluesube  Год назад +11

      Amazing question. Funny enough I was back and forth between the sti and the type r when looking for a sports car. I obviously decided on the STI in the end. One of the major contributors other than the AWD vs the FWD was the difference in feel of the two cars. When I drove the type r it felt like I was driving a computer and it felt very weak. When giving full throttle in 1st gear and in between shifts sometimes it would wheel hop. However, when I drove the STI it just felt raw and like a true drivers car. The engine roared louder and sounded meaner. The overall feel of the car felt like I was driving the car and not a computer. Love the type R and to this day would still love to own one, but the STI is where it's at when it comes to driving experience!

      @@thatbluesube TYSM, I appreciate it. I agree, I was thinking maybe the power lacks in the STI where the torque comes on late but I guess it's not all about the power. You have the AWD and I love Subaru's visibility. Luckily the used prices haven't soared too high, it also has hydraulic steering right? True and the sound on the type R is horrendous, Idc about what the fan boys say. The STI is a great all rounder if you could only have one car. It was also my dream car too when I was a teenager, thinking about pulling the trigger and getting one soon before it's all sold out. It's iconic. There's more soul and character is what you're trying to say...

    • @thatbluesube
      @thatbluesube  11 месяцев назад +2

      @@timothybracken1728 Yessir man, another part to consider is that the Type R is more reliable, I would say. The type r will probably outlast the STI, but you must maintain its maintenance, and it'll run great for a while. Yes, it does have hydraulic steering. Another worth mentioning is that the STI looks way better than the FK8 type Rs. An STI with some tasteful mods beats the FK8s any day. However, I love the look of the new FL5 type R's. I've never driven one of those, so I can't speak on the drivability of that model type.

    Anything else done to the car other than tomei?

    • @thatbluesube

      everything is stock besides the tomei drivetrain wise. I have a slew of cosmetic parts and coil overs and a few other supporting suspension parts.
