2013 TOYOTA SIENNA CHECK ENGINE AND TRACK OFF LIGHTS

  • After filling up and while driving on the highway, the "check engine" and "track off" lights came on. I don't recall driving abnormal in any way and I was concerned because this was the first time I got a warning light stayed on on this vehicle. I disconnected the battery (computer reset) and the lights didn't come on after reconnecting the battery. I drove about 150 miles on the highway a week later, enough for the system to ready itself, and the lights didn't come back on again. At this point I don't know how to proceed, being that the warning lights are not back.

    Yeahhhhh it worked! My battery went out I got a jump and after that I got track off and engine light on. My husband disconnected the black battery cable but not for too long, so it didn’t work. He tried again but leaving the cable disconnected few more minutes then push start button twice and hold the trac off bottom few seconds hen turn the engine on and the lights were off. Thanks

      My wife ran down the battery of our 2014 Sienna about 5 years ago. The guy who jumped it initially had the leads reversed. He corrected that and got the van started. Since then, the "Track Off" light would periodically come on with the engine light. Eventually it would go away. On and off over the years it (check engine light and Track Off) would come on then go away. I just drove 400 miles on vacation with the check engine light and Track Off lights on with no issues. I had thought it would go away like it had before but so far it still lit up. the DTC code at Autozone pulled up P0607, an ECM issue but the van runs fine so far. I'll try disconnecting the battery.

    Same thing happened to my Sienna. Took trip out of state. Filled gas tank. Probably didn’t close the gas lid completely or correctly. TRAC OFF came on about 15 minutes later. Did the battery thing to reset. Now it’s okay. Gotta be careful with that gas lid.

    Have an ‘08 Sienna XLE. had all these random misfire codes (VSC) and even would have to shut my van down as the “traction control” light would blink along with the engine light causing the van to lose power and decrease in speed, till I shut it off and restarted it. And that would take care of it for a week or so then back again, usually one the Highway. So off to the shoulder again as the van would slowly lose power and buck and gas be basically unresponsive
    Seems like maybe the compression was changing over the 200,000 miles as i started putting premium gas in and the higher octane was the key.. as all the codes went away (once cleared) and never came back. Same spark plugs. I did change one injector (before I switched to premium gas) as it did have that code come up for the number 2. But the check engine lights would still come on. But same spark plugs on all 6 cylinders as those back are just too hard to change without a good reason.
    Again premium gas and all my check engine lights and blinking lights are a thing of the past and it’s nice having a dash free of those. (Those lights came on probable a dozen times in the past. But now problem solved for like 9 months now and counting…

    It occured to me and read that the codes P0455 & P0441 could be as simple as the Gas Cap not being correctly closed. Having read that, I went and checked and the Gas Cap was open. Of course, my wife was the one who added gas the night before and did not close it properly.

    I have this exact problem going on with my Toyota Corolla. The first time it happened was about a year ago and I disconnected my battery and it worked fine after that for about a year. Now I am having this problem a couple times a day, and I am getting sick of having to disconnect my battery over and over. I'm taking it to the dealership to find out what the cause of the issue is. Also, my vehicle will not go above 5 miles an hour when this issue is occurring

    • @SALGUCO
      @SALGUCO  3 года назад

      Might requiere attention? I haven't had that issue again........ I hope it doesn't happen again! I just filled up at the same gas station , couple of hours ago,, where I filled up when this happened to me. I kind of blamed on the gas but who knows why that causes it. I will start my dive back home soon. Will see. Best of luck.

    My Sienna encountered the same failure prompt after I drove 4300 KM long distance. But the DTC I scanned was P0128, indicating that my thermostat is faulty. Instead of replacing the thermostat, I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and now everything is back. It's just that I worry about whether it will prompt again in the future.

    • @SALGUCO

    It happened with my 2013 Toyota Sienna also. Plus the Cruise Control was not working. It was the small hose connected to the air intake after the Filter. After I connected it back, I did exactly what you did, I cycled the power to reboot the Computer. When I started the Engine, they were both gone and the Cruise Control started working.

    • @SALGUCO
      @SALGUCO  3 года назад

      Was the hose disconnected accidentally, suddenly by itself? I don't know, in my case, about the cruise control because I don't really use it. I blamed the gasoline....... could have been something else maybe? Thanks for commenting about your vehicle..... good indo to consider if it happens again.

    Hey
    I just had the same issue on my sienna 2015.
    From some chelc I made that happen because the gas cap is not turn till you heard a. "click".
    It should even be written in the gas cap itself that this light should come up it the. Gas cap is wrongly close.

      Check the comments on this video. Some have what could be a possible way to fix the issue. I'm considering recreating some of the environments listed by others, like removing or loosening a hose to see if that triggers the issue and then reset everything to normal to see if the issue goes away after some reasonable period of time. Also, you could try erasing the codes. I'm not sure if the Autozone can do that or not. Best of luck.

    unfortunately i spent $20 on a new gas cap probably $15 on MAS sensor cleaner still no luck O'reillys said the code was coming from the cat converter! after resetting the codes the lights were back on within 2 days sadly! car is 16 years old replacing a cat cause the engine burns oil is just not worth it.

      Unfortunately, as you said. Some might ignore that and keep the vehicle going, as long as your state doesn't require emissions inspections. But whatever way you go, best of luck to you!
