Hey man. That Pterodactyl that lived up stairs at your old place. He lived in mine for about 15yrs. Finally got him moved out 9 months ago today. Found cycling and I suck but I’m able to move a lot of that pain that was in my soul down into my legs. Just wanted to tell you thank you and it’s nice to know that people like us can beat that and succeed in life. Thanks for the inspiration sir. Kyle heard.
Before Lionel's last video, I'd never heard of Phil. Since then I've been binge watching with all the free time on my hands. These two are hilarious. Phil's response at the end is epic! Great job you guys!
Native Tucsonan here - As a recreational cyclist who attempted to tackle Mt. Lemmon every weekend for years and never saw anything under 3+ hours, I must say this effort is jaw dropping.
Grew up in Tucson and never knew at the time it was such a cycling destination. Now that I've gotten into cycling, it has given me a reason to go back.
I love watching this. Great KOM, but watch out for this Sam Long kid. I use to do the Mt. Lemmon Hill climb in the 70s and the official finish was always the palisades ranger station. I’m sure you know this if you train in Tucson. Great ride!
KOM wars are crazy. I tried to take one locally that required me to ride in a tropical storm for enough tailwind and spotters at two intersections to make sure I didn't get hit by cross traffic (I had the right of way, but never trust cars to always stop). I was one of the most fun things I'd ever attempted! Took three times to finally get it.
I did the same. We had a 45-50kmh wind the other day which I rode to 32 KOMs and 13 top tens in 1 ride. I got up to 71kph on a short downhill but averaged 49kmh for over 21km, and a few of the short KOMs were high 50s and low 60s. Good fun, but I know someone else will beat some or all soon enough.
This is brilliant! Love the rivalry and the clip at the end. Following the cancellation of the marathon I'd been training for I've turned my attention to local segments in a bid to motivate myself. Keep the videos coming!
Hey lionel just saying you are my fav tri guy. Love your rawness, openness, and purity. I hope to achieve a metamorphosis is myself to someday race competitively with you. Goals bro, goals!
Phil could learn a thing or two about producing a video from Lionel. Really well done! Glad to see that Phil seems to be a pretty good sport about it. :)
I was waiting for this video after seeing the one from the other day, priceless!! Another amazing effort Lionel (it takes me like 3hr 12min, like 2 hrs slower ;-) ) Love both Lionel and Phil, and love Mt Lemmon!!
BRAVO!!! To both of you!!! You are both inspirational to us mere mortals!! And a nice bright moment in a time when bright moments are far and few between. Thank you.
Great job, I’m a new rider I have one KOM. The person I beat is Lauren Hall, I live near Durango Colorado, great video and I’m inspired to ride. I ride because of my severe depression,
love the videos without Talbot great work thanks for the content keep it up we all need something to watch while we are social distancing stay safe and best wishes from Saskatchewan And you are a frickin beast keep pushing that Canadian power
I used to climb Mt Lemmon on a cheap mountain bike non stop to the observatory which is the official top of the mountain. Took me 4 hours up and 1.5 hours down without stepping a foot on the mounatian. This was in my 50's I'm 72 now and looking to build an e-bike to help me get there again :)
Interesting wheel choice. I wonder if a lighter, shallower profile would have made an additional difference of if the average speed was fast enough for the sail-effect to benefit more
Hey Lionel Sanders.Glad to see you got the KOM.You obviously have the talent to compete with the Division 3 and P1 riders easily. In you're video, you can clearly see the stark difference in you're form on the bike when compared to a road racer. You need to work on you're form.Emulate some pro tour riders like Moreno Argentin and Miguel Induran, just to name a few. What these riders all have in common is,they we're Aerodynamic,Supple but yet sat Solid on the bike pedaling with there knees in.You're knees we're out, creating a parachute affect.Phil has more road racing experience than you and you still beat him by 2 minutes, that's amazing.Phil is coming back for is KOM but if you work on you're form, you'll just take it back from him.All the best, stay healthy and safe!
forget racing, forget swift, forget everything. KOM wars are the best cycling thing RUclips’s ever seen
amen dude, its cool to see them race stuff that we could actually give a try ourselves if we went there...
Agreed! I’m coming over!
Awww yeah. You should see how epic mine are on my channel ;)
Kom wars are the street racing(literally) of cycling. Anyone, anytime, any place just compete. I love it.
yea for real Im about to start doing them as well
Thank you Erin for recording this and sending me the footage to edit. Without you we would not get to enjoy any of this during these tough times. 🔥
Talbot Cox what song is used during the climb
@Talbot Cox. You guys are all such a great team. Thanks a million for your vids.
Hire Erin @Talbot cox ! 🥳🥳🥳
Yes, thanks

Phil's books are really good, I highly recommend them.
Peter Watt I agree.
Agreed
Lionel has some of the most unconventional ride and run form I've ever seen and still destroys 99.9% of humanity... what a legend.
I am super-impressed. I knew you were a beast, but to take down Gaimon’s time, given how specifically he trains and what he weighs, is amazing.
Native Tucsonan here - As a recreational cyclist who attempted to tackle Mt. Lemmon every weekend for years and never saw anything under 3+ hours, I must say this effort is jaw dropping.
Loving this friendly KOM war, great content Lionel
friendly? All I see is all out war
That ain't friendly. That's raw, unbridled aggression..
Just imagine how quick he would go with no helmet straps hanging out, probably sub 1 hour...
That's it guys, we found Phil's second account!
For 12 minutes I forgot about everything going on right now! Thank you guys! Take care.
Love the response from Phil. You both are inspiring.
Kim Kardashian thought she could break the Internet... Then Lionel and Phil went and actually did it.
Bravo. Great video!!
EVERY SINGLE TIME there is a new Lionel video I get excited! It never disappoints!!
Grew up in Tucson and never knew at the time it was such a cycling destination. Now that I've gotten into cycling, it has given me a reason to go back.
Couldnt thank LS enough. Most of us are in a lockdown right now and he give us this awesome cycling content
Well done! Sidenote: I love Phil's message at the end. "This aggression will not stand!". Dying over here.
Thanks for filming Erin!
Lionel you are a massive source of inspiration! Thanks for the content and stay safe my friend!
I love watching this. Great KOM, but watch out for this Sam Long kid. I use to do the Mt. Lemmon Hill climb in the 70s and the official finish was always the palisades ranger station. I’m sure you know this if you train in Tucson. Great ride!
you didn't just take any of his KOM's, you took his favorite. This is so good, its like Davey and Goliath, Lionel rides like Goliath of course (ogre)
love it! awesome getting Phil involved and spreading some positivity. cyclists/triathletes are good people.
Correction: triathletes are good people
Thanks Erin for editing this video!
Love the community - Great work Lionel & Phil!
That celebration will definetly be a part of my routine for a KOM this summer when racing seems to be out of the question due to covid19!

the ending with Phil, muhahahha, literally lmfao
That was great, Lionel. I got all teary at the end when you gave No Kid Hungry a shout out. Way to go.
This is brilliant! Love the rivalry and the clip at the end.
Following the cancellation of the marathon I'd been training for I've turned my attention to local segments in a bid to motivate myself.
Keep the videos coming!

Congrats - great entertainment - and even greater sport! Waiting for Phil now. And THANKS for this content in difficult times!
Definitely not the most graceful person I've seen on a road bike but a KOM is a KOM.
nice nod to the Big Lebowski "This aggression will not stand."

This made me smile and laugh a bunch. Thank you!
Hell yes. Phil and Lionel need to race for possible fund raiser. Great job Lionel

"this aggression will not stand" omg
SkeetSystem

He's probably quoting it from Lebowski, not the CIA guy

Who could have disliked this video!???? .....PHIL :-)
David K. Typical roadie bully and snob
Who couldn’t do his own work

I'm so sad that we haven't a mountain like this here in the area of munic
Go to the alps 😁
@@rogerc23 from munic you need 1:50 h with the car to the alps
The Champaign spray was the best!!!! 😂😂😂 congrats!!
Champagne is the correct spelling.
😂 great banter from you and Phil 🤙
Interesting wheel choice. I wonder if a lighter, shallower profile would have made an additional difference of if the average speed was fast enough for the sail-effect to benefit more
Nice job Erin, thanks for the footage. You won’t need Talbot soon. Well except for the edits.
Donated to foodforkidsHalton.ca, same idea here at home 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Yeah, do more! This was great!
Why don't you guys arrange a head to head race up Mt Lemmon for charity!
Freaking love this dude
Awesome job 🦁
Lionel, any possibility of doing a road bike overview? Some bike spaces, bike fit numbers?
Thank you so much 🔥💪🏻 It isn't over...
That is so awesome my man!

Looks like a pretty fast paced ascent. Would it not be quite a lot quicker on the TT bike? Looks like a big ring climb, haha.
Great ending!
