Dusty is one reason we need the 60s back, on endless loop
No way man I love my mixed grandchildren 😂😂
The music...yes! The craziness, riots, and other such nonsense....no.
@@jwnagy There were three GREAT features: pop culture (music, movies...) finally reaching adulthood from 1967 on, The Moon Landing, Woodstock. Otherwise, pure horror, yes.
Ladies and gentlemen the incomparable Dusty Springfield!!!!
I can't believe she's British. She looks and sounds like the picture of 1950's America.
It's May 2024 and Beyond Paradise brought me here. Always loved this great song and the amazing Dusty Springfield!
Dusty was an Icon. Beautiful, elegant and sang in tune without all these aids and "Gimmicks" that are used by the majority of the singers of today who couldn`t "hold a tune to save their lives......and EVERY word was sung with a clarity that most of the singers of today will never be able to match.
This was absolutely one of my most favorite songs...ever!
One of best pop songs
A wonderful singer along with Patula Clarke.Great voice n expression!
One of the greatest voices in pop music.
And folk, jazz and soul music too
Karen Carpenter and Whitney Houston too!
No fireworks, no crazy lights, no wild girating/dancing, no foul language...just a beautiful woman with the voice of an angel.
¡ Cierto ! 👋👋👋👋
Accurate. 100%
The talent and entertainment of a human, like it used to be
@@jimmykarlsson2567 👍
No auto tune
She had no idea of how much the world loved her and her music. Pure perfection and so much missed.
And she was most beautiful british singer about the sixtys and early seventys,in my opinion
Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark were the two best female British singers of all times.
Ditto
Totally agree with you.......!!!
I'D add Cilla Black and Adele.
Don’t forget Julie Andrews
And shirley bassey too
I was 6 years old when she came out with that great song. I was enchanted with her then as I am today… ❤
Classic Dusty image! Boy could she belt it out!😊 Top British female singer period .Gone too soon 1999 RIP xx
Damned cancer
Has to be one of the most iconic performances in musical history Dusty dancing in the spotlight
Dusty was phenomenal singer. I do remember her. She was true singer in a class to herself.
Heavily influenced by girl groups of the era such as the Exciters and the Shirelles, and with lavish Phil Spector-style production, “I Only Want to Be With You” became the first ever song on Top of the Pops when Dusty performed it on New Year’s Day 1964.
Beauty, elegance and talent.
Really
Dusty was a great vocalist. It's sad she died so young. Glad her legacy will live on forever!!!
This song makes me smile from head to toe.
This song makes me feel like I'm sixteen all over again.
Pure talent, natural beauty, no gimmicks, and no sex. God, I miss the good old days.
Dusty still is the bomb. Nuff said.
Short and sweet.
And. Truthful
“Sticking to one person for a lifetime is not a waste of time or lack of better ones, it means you've found your place of eternity.” ― Michael Bassey Johnson
She is my joy..., and sorrow too... .Will
She was so lovely. Her voice, her beauty, and her entertainment.
Only the people who lived through this era understand how brilliant those day’s were
I did. And yes, you are right.
Dusty's first big hit. And her best. Along with Stay Awhile.
Taken to early at 59. In accordance with Dusty's wishes, she was cremated and some of her ashes were buried at Henley, while the rest were scattered by her brother, Tom Springfield, at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.
Love. Judy Garland, Dusty Springfield--why can't the world be like these amazing ladies today. Absolute talent and charisma. We will never see this again, sadly.
How can you not smile? Pure joy to watch and listen to.
John Zalewski and her panda eyes 😘
Oh so true... energy and melody... pure pleasure
Beautiful, talented and gone too soon.

Exactly my thoughts 🙂💛
She had such a powerful voice.
A sultry, "whiskey" voice.
@@JudgeJulieLit ¿Qué es una "whisky voice"?
Dusty was one in a million, she had it all.
One of my best 10 British women singers of the 60's, this song has passed my 5 points to be a hit for the rest of my living days.
1.- lyrics, 2.- voice. 3.- rhythm, 4.- music, 5.- Performance. (NO NECESSARILY IN THIS ORDER).
I agree wholeheartedly .I assume you include the musical arrangement , with the ' rockin ' bass line ' !
... Y belleza y simpatía !
Wow!! Loved her voice!! RIP Dusty Springfield xoxo
What a voice.
My heart melts at her little jump and dance at :43
Just saw that and it is so cute
Dusty springfield was 100% pure perfection. She had it all. Immensely beautiful, immensely sexy in a very decent way, rich with rhythm and a voice that was out of this world. Dusty Springfield was and still is the pride of Great Britain and the world. Rest in peace my beloved Dusty. Respectfully: Henry Pope
Love Dusty Springfield. I could listen to her all day.
That was beautiful love songs back then that you could listen to over and over and still today. There will never be songs like that again from the 50's and 60's.We have so many memories of those nice times.🎷🙂📯
Absolutely beautifully stated. I lost my wife of 50÷ years to cancer recently and this song and video remind me of how much I miss her.❤
No smoke, no dancers, no microphone, a gorgeous, simple, beautiful woman with an angelic voice.
No microphone must give you a hint?
Oh why can’t they make ‘em like this anymore 😢😢
Hard to find a pure voice like that, these days.
Several country singers have hits inspired by this song. Reba Mcintire - WRONG NIGHT. Patti Lovelace - I Try to Think About Elvis.
Beautiful song ❤️
Beautiful voice ❤️
Beautiful lady❤️
Beautiful in 2020❤️
When entertainers had Class & new how to dress appropriately. RIP my dear Dusty! 🙏
I was born in 63,so I only became aware of the lady a few years after the song was released. I think that she was one of the greatest talents show up in the 60s, and one of the easiest on the eyes. Wow.
Oh how I love Dusty and her incredible voice
I love her dancing during the string solo
Sexy al máximo.
One of the greatest singers ever. And what a looker! 🌪️🌟🌪️
What's so sad is that Dusty never considered herself 'beautiful' despite all her fans thinking so. She (quoted in articles) thought her face looked 'manly', mostly because of her strong jawline and long face, which 'may' have been considered manly at the time, but I and most other humans on the planet found her to be beautiful! She hated her own looks, which was very sad. Too bad that some of the most talented people are also the most insecure.
@@Frankie2012channelshe has gorgeous strong jaws 😍
I played this song at work today
I have been obsessed with this video ever since I recently discovered it. Aside from her great singing voice and song, there is something mesmerizing about her affect, body language, facial expressions, and just the way she moves, that strikes me as just so joyful, sweet, sincere, wholesome and appealing, that is both endearing and touching to me for reasons I don't quite understand. ❤But, I'm sure that being a child of the 60s-70s has something to do with it. 😄In any case, this has become one of my most favorite YT videos. 🥰
One of the greatest singers ever. I am black lady. I just love her.
Hello Cynthia
Taken from us too soon but immortalised through her singing and personality.
This is an Everlasting hit!
This performance was the 2nd song on the brand new pop show on the BBC( THE ICONIC )Top of the Pops on the 1st January 1964 , the first was the Rolling Stones….. great era and great music indeed. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
One of the greatest songs in my life time . 👍😊
She was a pioneer, an icon, and an angel!
This song always sounded timelessly great no matter who recorded it in what era - Dusty Springfield in the '60s, the Bay City Rollers and the Tourists in the '70s, Samantha Fox in the '80s. All of them packed it with punch. Thanks for posting the original!
Number One Favorite Song Of Mine...
One of those singers with a UNIQUE voice, which is not easy to be. Too bad she did not have more songs.
Perhaps look up her discography on Wikipedia - you will be surprised just how many songs she recorded!
This is just wonderful and thankyou s much.Isn't it amazing how attractive in dress 'Dusty' presents herself.A true proffesional. Why do we have to see people trying to look like they have fallen out of a rubbish truck.I am now 59yrs old and missed being older when Dusty was around.Excellent musicians backing with beautifully arranged orchestratation. It is a little magic . Isn't the world sad enough at times without entertainers looking and sounding like 'bums' and screamers. Sorry but why can't we have some 'professional entertainers like this .(entertaining)).
Opino como usted, pero desgraciadamente esa época mágica pasó. Sólo nos queda evocarla y seguir amándola con fervor.
Oh how I miss her fantastic voice and personality, she is/was a true icon
She was a brilliant entertainer no gimmicks just a brilliant voice !
No auto-tune!
She's one amazing singer
definitely a spectacular singer...as for gimmicks...pancake and hairspray...
@@999manman No need for it either.
This was literally more than likely a lip sync.
I watch this performance on TV when I was a kid in the U.S.! Loved it back then!
The string arrangement is beautiful, includes the peak of the song in every way.
I love her facial expression and hand movements when she sings, " I didn't stand a chance." Go Dusty, Go!
👍👍👋👋👋
The One And Only Miss Dusty Springfield. RIP Dear Lady.
Here name was actually Mary O'Brian.

Elegance, beauty, style, and a singer among singers. My all time favorite. Dusty is greatness personified.
She had it all
Amen to that!
Completamente de acuerdo!!
I love Dusty's look and music!
This describes my wife and I perfectly. After 35 years, I doubt it will change.
What a stunner she was, beautiful voice too. RIP Dusty.xx
Damn I’m old! This was the year I was born! 😹🤣😂
All style, class, sophistication, very chic, and a incomparable voice with a great vocal range. The great Dusty Springfield is all this and more. The great eras of musical geniuses and no fancy stage props, just the Greatest singer-songwriter, Ms Dusty Springfield. Wishing you were here. 😪😪😥😥💜💙💚💛🧡❤️❣️💝💕💞💓💗💖💖🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶🎤🎤🎤🎼🎶🎵
I simply love her music! One of best female voices I ever heard! Love the 60's
She was very good, but a little before her, the best I've ever heard was Connie Francis. That woman sang so effortlessly. If her career didn't get cut short by her father's overpowering control as well as some tragic events that happened to her... She would have surpassed Elvis for being the Female Version of him based on vocal talents alone! Dusty was great and not only is this song good, but her other song, You Don't Have to Say You Love Met that showcases her angelic voice as well as a few other songs, yet I would still state that she could not hold a candle to Connie Francis.
@@skilz8098 Cool, but it’s a Dusty Springfield video and we’re here to stan Dusty. Go Dusty!!! 🙌

The greatest female pop vocalist ever, Dusty.

Still chillin' me at 71 and I listen to many times a month.

The one and only....love you Dusty
I'm 40 and I wouldn't trade this music for my generations music. I missed out but I am glad it's here
today they do not make "Music" with very few exceptions, they just make "Noise"
Listen to the Petersens (if you want a family band that plays/sings bluegrass).
I was born in the wrong era. I love this ❤
This sounds better than any officially released version I've heard. Nice!
Dusty had a perfectionist ego drive and always wanted control the outcome of her work. Some people were affronted by this but the proof is in the pudding so to speak. She was the real productionist behind the scenes and I will always love her. Thanks for being DUSTY.
Never been a better female singer
I call her Dusty doll. She looks like a doll in that spotlight. I love her.
Fantastic, timeless song, still sends a shiver after more than 50 years, the incomparable Dusty !.
❤❤❤Dusty❤❤❤ The best from Britain.
Very clean and clear voice! Just similar to our Mina.
I'm a fan of the 80s but I really like this song from the 60s. Who would have thought?
The fabulous Dusty Springfield. No one ever like her. This song is so amazing but only her voice does it justice. Love you Dusty. RIP. Forever missed and forever loved. RESPECT
Dusty had it all, beauty, class, and style plus an amazing voice.
👍👍👍
I long for the good old days. More decency back in the day.
This is such a beautiful song I can’t believe I discovered it just now
sounds great! thank you for that! such a very special lady.
Definitely one of the top 5 songs in my 66 year old life!
Dusty had an amazingly powerful voice. I understand she Wowed a crowd at a gathering, singing (no amplification) from a staircase, loud & clear. I always wondered what possessed her to dress the way she did, but it became her Thing. She became an Icon with it, and helped to usher in London's Swinging Sixties. She will certainly be missed, by many.
It always makes me happy to watch and hear the great Dusty Springfield
A great song, a great singer
Can't get enough of Dusty!!
It doesn’t get much better than this
I wannabe with you great tune from The one and only Dusty her style God Bless You.😊
