Your interpretation is really quite brilliant for not knowing the backstory. Lucio Dalla wrote this as an homage to the SUPERSTAR opera singer Caruso who died young at only 48. This song imagines his last days/moments with his much younger wife with whom he had a little girl. The sea is metaphor for death & love as well as literal for the sea surrounding his hometown and the oceans he crossed in his amazing career. No one has ever sung this song as well as Lara Fabian, imo.
Assolutamente! I only just came across this song a couple of weeks ago and have listened to it and it's reviews every day since. The words are meraviglioso and her delivery is flawless. I cannot believe I had never heard of her b4 (I am a dual US/Italian citizen now living in Italy). I have also heard Caruso sung by Pavrotti and Boccelli among others and secondo me she is by far the best and that is saying something.
Thanks for telling the story, I was just about to... Just a note: because of the imminent death of Caruso, Laura's face is distorted when she sings the last phrases about tinte vene: because it's love that Caruso had no option but giving up. As in it's a death cry.
t's incredible how today we listen to everything that comes out on the market and in a moment something old comes out of nowhere, as if forgotten and gives a class to everyone, changing everything we knew until then about music. Lara, a sacred monster in the world of music, something that remains forever.
Enrique Caruso was the first "famous (opera) singer" as we know the term today. The song was written by Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla in 1986 . It was dedicated to Caruso .The song tells about the pain and longings of a man/or woman, who is soon going to die. Here he is looking into the eyes of a girl who was very dear to him. It is an emotional song, and to me, that love and pain have found a home: Lara Fabian.
Please forgive me but I can't handle the english language very well. However Caruso Is a a song of Lucio Dalla an italian artist. There is a story behind this Song. One day Lucio Dalla broke is boat in front of Gulf of Sorrento. He asked a friend for help and the friend was the owner of the hotel (Grand Hotel Excelsior Victoria) where Caruso (famous tenor of the past) died. The friend gave to Lucio the Caruso's room. At the same time chance willed that the barman of the restaurant "La Scogliera" tale to Lucio Dalla that Caruso had fallen in love with an unrequited love for a young girl to which he gave singing lessons. Shortly after, Caruso died. In his room Lucio found the piano that belonged to Caruso and inspired by this story began to play a few notes. A little later the song was ready.
And also you should listen" Adagio" is her s ,and Dimash sing Adagio becose he is a fan of Lara. Beautiful performens ...and so manny performens of her s that are simply amazing, this is nothing ..she is more than amazing ,and for sure one of the best live performer
This guy you are talking about was the Famous tenor Enrico Caruso. He is dying and remembering is life with his wife, which was 20 years younger than he was.
Caruso was in love with a woman 20 years younger than he was. They had a daughter together. The song is to express his pain and how he must have felt knowing he was leaving her in his death.
I love your reactions to Lara!!!! This was wonderful. She can honestly do no wrong. Pick a song, any song!! lol She does have some music videos.. but honestly she’s usually better live.. any video from her Mademoiselle Zhivago album is a masterpiece. For something really different, check out the Mademoiselle Hyde video! The Desperate Housewife video is amazing as well... and Llora... but you need to brace yourself for that one. It’s powerful and incredibly sad. Her “par amour” video is brilliant as well!! (From her most recent album Papillon) Seriously, pick anything!! It’s all amazing! Thanks so much! Greetings from New Brunswick!! 😊
Thanks a lot for this nice reaction. If you ever need top quality material when reacting to Lara, I have actually restored all the songs from this concert to unmatched quality (except the bonus tracks). The only drawback is the lack of subtitles, so sorry about that (edit : the subtitles have now been added!), although many of the songs are actually in English : ruclips.net/p/PLV-BfzP9ln4xyPy8l43ag7hd20S9PeNiE
Can't thank you enough for that work!!! 👍👏 Many of the performances from the concert are truly uniquely amazing. I've been searching for HQ version(s) for a while. And while I found a "HQ" version of the concert, your restoration looks better. I created a .srt sub file w. French+English subs for 'Je Suis Malade' (that performance deserves a shrine all by itself). Off the Fr/Eng subs on other YT vids. Now I just have to synchronize it to your vid. Let me know if you want a copy. Least I can do.
If you want to see her use her body more to deliver a song, check out her Tango. She sings the whole thing from a chair...and it's very vey sexy. Don't miss it.
There are great live performances of Tango and the music video is also great but not sitting in a chair. I think the official title is Tango Mi Amore. Her music videos are really beautiful but I love watching her concerts...and wishing I were there! :)
Hi ! Can you react to Mylène Farmer please ? she has been an icon in France for about 37 years. She has a lot of interesting and different songs, emotional songs, rock, pop, songs that move ... And she is the QUEEN for the intro. I advise you : - "Désenchantée" live 2009 at the Stade de France (her best song) - "Degeneration" live 2009, very electro and sexy - "ouverture+peut-être toi" live 2006, this intro is Amazing 😍
She lives next to you here, in Montreal a beautiful humble singer . For sure one of the world's greatest SuperStars
