Great Reaction...... I read in a interview where Talia Shire agreed with the idea of Adrian passed away before this movie happens.... She said that (summarized) "It would make no sense for Rocky to fight if Adrian was alive" and when asked if she felt bad about being left out of the movie, she replied "The whole movie is about Adrian" RIP Burt Young, "Paulie"
I love the emotion you give off, a pure and soothing emotion. The Rocky saga is timeless and a model for life. We can watch it in 5 or 10 years, we will still shed a tear over the same scenes. Thank you for sharing all these beautiful moments of emotion 👍. Be well.
If you're amenable, there's a video out there containing a beautiful monologue from Paulie to Rocky, which was cut from the movie. I'm pretty sure that pretty much everyone who's seen it wishes it were not cut from the movie. It occurs right after Paulie storms out of Adrian's and before he turns and tells Rocky that Rocky will do OK. It's a tear-jerker.
It was cut mainly because the film contained other, more powerful monologues on loss, regret etc. Also Paulie's crying was distracting as it sounded weirdly like laughter, which ran counter to what he was saying. I'm with you on checking out cut scenes as a completest, but in this case I think Stallone was right to remove the sequence, especially as Paulie had the chance to express his regrets in other scenes.
Both Stallone and the actress who plays Maria came out in later interviews and said NOTHING romantic was behind their kiss. It was simply a symbolic gesture of "thank you" mixed with "good luck", and that was ALL the kiss was about.
That makes more sense, especially since she was handing him the picture of Adrian she was clearly thinking of her too and maybe just wanted to give him the support his passed wife no longer could!
I sympathize with Rocky 6 Rocky most of all; I understand the cascading frustration when the one person who could help you the most with your pain happens to be the person who is gone.
Great to see someone so young taking these movies with such emotion. Having grown up watching these as they came out it really does give a look into the passage of time and how we all age. To see one of the heroes I had growing up coming to terms with his age is truly something
Only difference is that not the original actress that played Marie from the first Rocky movie the original actress did sue Sylvester Stallone and MGM for breach of contract because she cleared her schedule to comeback and play Marie again but she was told they were going with the other actress.
As we come to the end of 2023, I am truly thankful that I discovered your movie channel this year. Your movie reviews and reactions are always very well thought out and intelligent. I wish you all the very best this world has to offer in the new year. Your name (Jade) is also very appropriate since you are truly a gem. Sincerely, Kenneth
24:44 The announcer that Rocky says, "How you doin'?" is Max Kellerman. He really did grow up watching Rocky movies and is a huge fan of them. He calls Rocky 3 the best boxing movie of all time, so this was probably his legit reaction to "Rocky" asking him that question.
The depth of this film, a meditation on loss, age, regret, and the narrowing of time and physical decline. Melancholic and bittersweet. And another lovely heartfelt reaction.
just to point out because i dont think anyone ever notices or has it pointed out in these reactions, but spider rico (Pedro Lovell) is the fighter that rocky was fighting in the opening scene of the first movie. he's a retired fighter in real life too.
Moviejoob, your emotions shows what a true genuine and fantastic human being you are. Your really take every scene to heart and that is why I love your reactions to movies so much. Because, you go the extra mile to show us what you really feel, and that is makes your videos so wonderful to watch. Keep up the good work, and always be the kind and wonderful person that you are.
jade u are seriously too sweet! your reactions to the rocky series have been beautiful to watch... especially how empathetic and invested you are look forward to you starting the creed movies 😊 hope u are having a nice xmas/holidays
I love your reaction, I think this is the most emotional reaction that I ever seen, i did cry with you, to me this is the best Rocky that was made, life inspiration speech I think it is the best speech "But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done"
You have to be the sweetest person I've ever seen doing reactions. I watch reactions because they allow me to pretend I'm showing the movie to a friend who's never seen it. I have enough problems with crying. After my stroke, I cry at the drop of a hat; something happens to that part of the brain which allows a person to hold back. I simply can't anymore. And when you start crying, I lose it. So much fun to watch you watch movies. You are wonderful. :)
Awww Christopher!! When I watch these films I truly feel like you all are my friends asking my to watch this with you for the first time and it is such an honour to experience something so beloved by so many for my first time along side you!! Even if through a screen!
And I am so sorry to hear you had a stroke! I hope you are safe and well now!! I can’t relate to the stroke but I can very much relate to the inability to hold back tears, I was born that way I simply cannot stop my tear ducts when they are about to erupt!!
Yes, I'm fine. Took 18 months, but I went to the gym every day for 3 to 4 hours, and I visited my physical therapist about 60 times. The muscles were still there; I just had to stimulate them so my brain would grow. The brain's plasticity is amazing; it's just a matter of refusing to give up.@@MovieJoob
I saw this film opening night with my now ex-wife. She cried through the entire first half. But by the end, the two of us, along with the entire theater, were standing, pumping our fists and clapping, and chanting "Rocky, Rocky, Rocky" over and over.
I love your analysis of this movie. I’m from Philadelphia, so naturally I love every Rocky, but in my opinion this was the best after the original Rocky. Rocky is a live story disguised with boxing, and Rocky Balboa is a trip backwards with boxing. I saw this in the theater with my twin brother and I was crying the whole time. It was so emotional, and you’re so right about Rocky being the sweetest guy. He’s genuine in every sense. Philly Love.
Great reaction! I love your reactions! Please react to Cinderella Man, it's based on a true story, and its a great movie. It has Renee Zellweger and Russell Crowe. I promise you since you loved these movies, you'll love Cinderella Man, also, react to Gran Torino and Erin Brockovich, starring Julia Robert's, also based on a true story!
Loved Paulie in this movie. Burt Young hit me hard in the heart with his "I treated her bad" rant. But the character I relate the most is oddly the young commentator. I was born in 82, and though I wouldn't say I was a fan of the franchise (I only discovered #1 and #2 at the beginning of the 2000's, and didn't like them much the first time i saw them, though it changed through the years), I grew up watching #3 and #4 multiple times on TV and toroughly enjoying them each time. But I though I'd never be able to discover a Rocky movie in theater. And then this movie came out. So yeah, I was kinda like him, just couldn't believing I was discovering and enjoying a Rocky movie in theater. And this last opus is still nowadays a favorite of mine... actually, I wonder if, with the time, it didn't even took over #3 which was always my favorite.
This is my favorite of all the Rocky movies. It is so sweet. Sad, but very sweet. Rocky is such a gentle and loving person. Thank you for sharing this one with us. 😊
Joob, you've GOT to watch (and react to) the deleted scene of Paulie and Rocky where Paulie finally loses it over his mistreatment of his sister, and Rocky comforts him. That scene (or at least the bulk of it) should have been included in the theatrical cut of the film. It's incredibly powerful in how it finally brings Rocky, Paulie, and Adrian all together in the film...in the dimly lit alley behind the restaurant named after her.
Such a great reaction. Your raw emotions are so sweet, so genuine . You have a great heart. You brought me back to the first time I saw it, finding out that Adrian died. How can you not get emotional. Rocky was the luckiest man in the world having her in his corner. His speech to his son....as a father, its something I keep in the back of my mind, ready to use if/when the day comes that one of my boys needs to hear it. Im glad that you are fully vested in these movies. I grew up with Rocky, he was my favorite movie character.
That is the same actor that played spyder rico from the first film. Pedro Lovell. The only 2 movies he's been in. This is some of Stallone's best acting, this and Creed where he won the screen actors guild best supporting actor award for his first time. He's good in his latest series as well, "Tulsa King".
Jade, Thank you for all the pleasant times we’ve shared watching all those films from 2023; it’s been such a joy!! I want to wish you and all your team a very happy, safe and blessed 2024 🎉😊. Doug
Your losing it is why I 💖 coming back to see you. Stay you, you sweetest tender creature you! This my favourite Rocky "+" . The first one stays number one in the whole series, but among the sequels - this one rules, in my book.
Really enjoyed your reaction to Rocky Balboa. The best movie reations are the ones where the reactors don’t talk too much…they let the film have an effect on them.
Great Film Adrian's Death punches you in the gut hard mainly because you straight up love these characters and it stands to how well written this series was.
I have 2 favorite dialog/scenes from Stallone. One is his speech to his son in this movie about life beating you down and the other is the final monologue in First Blood.
Lovely reaction from a lovely young woman. Not ashamed to say i cried too at the time and at your reaction. Easy to get attached to these characters. For me its as good as the original.
Beautiful reaction, I love your empathy for the plight of the characters. Stallone really understands how to create gut wrenching emotions when he wants to. That's what separates Rocky from mindless sports based action movies.
I think i love you... ❤😂. You understand so well Rocky movies and the story of that guy that is amazing; not many girls does... And i think your emotional reactions are adorable! ❤
Everyone knows how important Adrian was to Rocky But damn you really get to see just how true that was. I think when Adrian died A part of rocky died as well There aren’t many people in this world who find their half of the missing circle ⭕️ But I tell you Rocky did and he never took that for granted . If all Men in this world could find and hold their own Adrian. Life would be damn near perfect
Love how they have Spider Rico in this movie, a great call back to the very first scene and fight in the first Rocky movie, enjoyed your emotional reaction thanks, Merry Christmas!
Yo Movie Joob, you did it!! You just finished my favorite saga of movies!! What a great Christmas present!!! You seem so genuine and sweet, also you look like a person with a good beautiful and humble heart!! ❤ When i see someone react like you to rocky, i know they are special. Because the world is a very mean and nasty place and not everyone has the stuff inside that makes them good, but you do!! There is not a single day where i don't think of rocky and how much he inspires me he is like a father to me. You definitely have made my december worth it!! You have motivated me a lot!! I love your reactions and i love your speech at the end. I would love if you did like a long video review of the whole experience and i am sure many fans would also love to see that!! I am ROCKY'S number one fan and i watch every rocky reaction on youtube, and i can gladly say yours is on the top 3 easy!!! Please everyone shower with support this amazing girl. She deserves It!! Give a shout to me un your next video if you can :)
This story line was probably somewhat inspired by George Foreman, who came out of retirement and actually won the heavyweight title for a second time at the age of 45, fighting against the 26 year-old champion. Of course, Sylvester Stallone is clearly older than 45 here, but I think they managed to make this as realistic as possible with Mason breaking his hand, the fight being an exhibition and Mason not taking it very seriously etc.
What I like is that unlike some of the other guys Rocky fight in the other movies, Dixon is not a bad guy. He's a really good boxer who is not loved and respected because he beats everyone too easily. Apollo was too good as well but he had the showmanship to win the crowd. Dixon finally grows as a person when he finally face someone who doesn't back down and keeps hitting.
Fun fact Mason Dixon was also a world champion Boxer Antonio Tarver. If Balboa made you cry can't wait to see your Creed reaction. Have a good Christmas.
Love this movie, but way too emotional to revisit too often. Great life lessons though. Happy Holidays to you and yours. On another Stallone related matter you Should check out First Blood, it's not what you think it will be. Thanks for the great vids
There's a cut scene available on RUclips where Paulie breaks down crying. regretting all the bad things he said and did to his sister, wishing he had been taken first.
@@MovieJoob yes it's been hard and Christmas was extremely hard and you replying to my comment has made my Christmas to be honest with you. Looking forward to your next release. Already counting the days
For me, Rocky Balboa or Rocky 6 is the 2nd best movie in the franchise. That has a lot to do with what Rocky told his son about life. That speech was some of the best writing and acting of Stallones career.
So happy you truly seem to have enjoyed Rocky so far. This movie was special imo after growing up watching each of these films come out in order waiting as long as we did between 5 (worst in series) to this what could easily be the best in the series was amazing. I think that 1, 2, & Balboa could be tied for best Rocky movie tho I still maintain my personal favorite to watch is 4. Can't wait for you to start Creed, it's a whole new beast and fantastic series so far (hope more are to come).
I've enjoyed your reactions to all these Rocky movies plus all the other movies Jade. Your emotions are so genuine. I look forward to more reactions from you. I hope you react to The Accountant with Ben Affleck in the future. You're a beautiful young lady with a heart of gold. Merry Christmas!! 🎄 🎁🙏
Mason Dixon sure fought good for having a „broken“ hand. Always thought the father-son life talk was one of the best. Great movie to finish out the ROCKY series. Cheers
I cant wait to see you watch the Creed's after watching Rocky series so fresh in your mind. You gonna have such a great experience. Creed 1 &2 are such great homages to the Rocky series while making you care about the new characters.
Not sure if you remember but spider rico… the guy in the vest washing dishes and getting free meals is the first fight we see with Rocky in the first film.
While some people assumed Marie is a love interest it’s so clear that she isn’t and I’m glad the film never tried to shove it in And of course Adrian isn’t in the film but her presence is still very much there so it still very much feels like the love story that’s present in the other 5 This has gotta be one of Stallones best performances
Hi Jade, I'm glad you are going to continue with the Creed movies. (but don't forget your tissues) Here's a little trivia about Rocky Balboa: Sylvester Stallone felt so bad about Rocky 5 such a failure as a movie (and it was supposed to be the final Rocky movie), that he said he would write and produce his own "final" Rocky film and make it up to the fans. He spent 2 years writing the script for this movie, and, wanted it to be a "proper" farewell to the Rocky franchise. He was 60 years old when he made this movie. Starting in the Creed movies, He still plays Rocky Balboa, and still has his restaurant.
I think most of the people thought making Rocky Balboa, so long after the Rocky 5, thougt it was a really bad idea. Also because Rocky 5 was kinda meh But man oh man, this was a beautiful finish to Rocky series. But hey, as you said - Creed awaits. And once again - imho- - creeds series exceeded expectations too 😊
This reaction is one of the best I’ve saw Creed and Creed II are great movies to follow Rocky and Sly’s acting in Creed 1 is amazing i wont say much but have tissues ready ❤️✌🏻
When the kid suggests, "Punchy," for the name of the dog, he is trying to insult Rocky. When Punchy is used, in regards to boxers, to describe someone that has been boxing to long and taking to many punches to the head and it shows. It is why the kid looks surprised when Rocky agrees to the name. I think this is the point when the kid first starts to genuinely drop his guard with Rocky.
Sylvester Stallone is a great actor, even outside of the Rocky "arena" so to speak. I saw him in a movie called Cliffhanger. His acting was superb (IMO).
When Steps named the dog "Punchy" he was actually insulting Rocky. Rocky knew it but decided to name the dog Punchy anyway. Rocky was always self-deprecating. Later Marie tells Rocky that she thinks the name is disrespectful and Rocky says its ok.

Great Reaction......
I read in a interview where Talia Shire agreed with the idea of Adrian passed away before this movie happens.... She said that (summarized) "It would make no sense for Rocky to fight if Adrian was alive" and when asked if she felt bad about being left out of the movie, she replied "The whole movie is about Adrian"
RIP Burt Young, "Paulie"
That is so beautiful!! She is such a fantastic actress for the role!!
"The whole movie is about Adrian", lovely. 🥰
One might even say that the whole series is a love story

It was criminal that it was cut out. Thanks to RUclips we get to enjoy it though.
Definitely should've been kept in.
Both Stallone and the actress who plays Maria came out in later interviews and said NOTHING romantic was behind their kiss. It was simply a symbolic gesture of "thank you" mixed with "good luck", and that was ALL the kiss was about.

Truly one of my favorite films of all time. I always go back to Rocky's speech. Motivational isn't a strong enough word.
Such a beautiful part of the film!! 🥹

19:21 This speech needs to be shown to over and over again to people. It's the best part of the movie.
The dialog in this movie is amazing. Fantastic writing. Having HBO film the fight like it's real... This movie is perfect.
Rocky is probably the most sincere and best role for Stallone.

Life would be damn near perfect
Love how they have Spider Rico in this movie, a great call back to the very first scene and fight in the first Rocky movie, enjoyed your emotional reaction thanks, Merry Christmas!
Hi Jade hope you are having an great and merry Christmas 🎅 ❤
Merry Christmas to you John!!! ❤❤🎄
Yo Movie Joob, you did it!! You just finished my favorite saga of movies!! What a great Christmas present!!!
You seem so genuine and sweet, also you look like a person with a good beautiful and humble heart!! ❤
When i see someone react like you to rocky, i know they are special.
Rest in peace, Burt "Uncle Paulie" Young.
April 30, 1940 to October 8 2023. 🙏❤️
This is my favorite of the entire franchise 💔😭😭😭😭😭 RiP Adrian 😭😭😭😭
The talk to Milo is fantastic 🥰😭
Paulie's regret over how he regretted treating Adrian hits really close to my heart 💘😭😭🥰😥
Fun fact Mason Dixon was also a world champion Boxer Antonio Tarver. If Balboa made you cry can't wait to see your Creed reaction. Have a good Christmas.
Thank you so much!! I can’t wait to continue with the Creed films!!
Probably my favorite. Get teary eyed every time I watch this
I don’t blame you one bit!! 😢
Hey kid, don't feel bad. Real ROCKY fans , we all cried about the Adrien thing. 😢.
There is something very special about your reactions. Thank you very much 🙏
Aww thank you so very much!! 😊
Merry Christmas to you I have had a very hard time over the last year but you have given me something to look forward to each week so thank you
Awww Merry Christmas to you too! I’m so sorry you’ve had a tough year but I’m very grateful to have added any positivity! Thank you for being here ❤
@@MovieJoob yes it's been hard and Christmas was extremely hard and you replying to my comment has made my Christmas to be honest with you. Looking forward to your next release. Already counting the days
OMGoodness I saw it the way you saw it and cried also.. 😢
The tears were flowing on this one 😢
Love your empathy jade. I knew this was gonna be a tough one for you.❤
Aww thank you so much!! It definitely pulled on my heartstrings!!
For me, Rocky Balboa or Rocky 6 is the 2nd best movie in the franchise. That has a lot to do with what Rocky told his son about life. That speech was some of the best writing and acting of Stallones career.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned, but you should look up and find the "Alternative Ending". It's very cool and emotional.
Great reaction MJ. Keep up the great work I love it!
Thank you so much 😊🙌
@@MovieJoob you're so welcome MJ.
I know you're doing the Rocky universe but I'm going to keep suggesting "The Never-Ending Story". You will not be disappointed.
Mason Dixon sure fought good for having a „broken“ hand. Always thought the father-son life talk was one of the best. Great movie to finish out the ROCKY series. Cheers
Happy holidays to you Jade what a great way to end the year with The Rocky Saga. Yo Jade you are the best…
I cant wait to see you watch the Creed's after watching Rocky series so fresh in your mind. You gonna have such a great experience. Creed 1 &2 are such great homages to the Rocky series while making you care about the new characters.
I’m so looking forward to experiencing them with the Rocky films fresh in my mind!! 🙌
Not sure if you remember but spider rico… the guy in the vest washing dishes and getting free meals is the first fight we see with Rocky in the first film.
While some people assumed Marie is a love interest it’s so clear that she isn’t and I’m glad the film never tried to shove it in
And of course Adrian isn’t in the film but her presence is still very much there so it still very much feels like the love story that’s present in the other 5
This has gotta be one of Stallones best performances
Happy holidays 😊 great reaction !!! there's an alternate ending you should watch
Hi Jade,
I'm glad you are going to continue with the Creed movies. (but don't forget your tissues)
Here's a little trivia about Rocky Balboa:
Sylvester Stallone felt so bad about Rocky 5 such a failure as a movie (and it was supposed to be the final Rocky movie), that he said he would write and produce his own "final" Rocky film and make it up to the fans. He spent 2 years writing the script for this movie, and, wanted it to be a "proper" farewell to the Rocky franchise. He was 60 years old when he made this movie.
Starting in the Creed movies, He still plays Rocky Balboa, and still has his restaurant.
Merry Christmas to you!! Love your reactions and I hope you continue the series with the creed movies as Rocky's story continues there
Merry Christmas!! I definitely will continue on to the Creeds!! 🙌
I think most of the people thought making Rocky Balboa, so long after the Rocky 5, thougt it was a really bad idea. Also because Rocky 5 was kinda meh
But man oh man, this was a beautiful finish to Rocky series.
But hey, as you said - Creed awaits. And once again - imho- - creeds series exceeded expectations too 😊
Such a beautiful film!! I’m so glad they made this!
Hey Jade, this is one of my favorites. like always your reactions are amazing.
Thank you so much!! 😊
@@MovieJoob your welcome
Looking forward to you getting to the Creed series as well :), as I see you did that reaction already
Hope you enjoy 😊❤️
@@MovieJoob I did it is a lovely thing to see real emotion from a franchise so many love
Very emotional movie and react.
This reaction is one of the best I’ve saw Creed and Creed II are great movies to follow Rocky and Sly’s acting in Creed 1 is amazing i wont say much but have tissues ready ❤️✌🏻
Your hair looks really good beautiful... happy holidays 😊
He's not in that movie. You meant Cliffhanger.
I always get those mixed up. You are right, he's in Cliffhanger.
Merry Christmas Felicia 💜💜💜
When Steps named the dog "Punchy" he was actually insulting Rocky. Rocky knew it but decided to name the dog Punchy anyway. Rocky was always self-deprecating. Later Marie tells Rocky that she thinks the name is disrespectful and Rocky says its ok.
Great reaction as always. Thank you. Merry Xmas ❤.
Thank you for joining me!! Merry Christmas ❤
Yoo @MovieJoob you did it!!!
WE did it!! Now on to Creed!!
