Boulware's testimony had a really big "I used to be homophobic so god gave me three gay kids and told me to grow the hell up" energy. Fuckin love allies like him being cool.
Also, he said that he didn't let his daughter be herself not because "it was against the Bible," but because he wanted to protect her. Shows he was willing to change his views
I am not a mom, but I am a mom friend. I want you to know that I accept you, I am proud of you, and I think you are a wonderful person. You deserve happiness and health. Things may be really hard right now, and it's ok to need a break or not be able to reach the expectations people have for you. I believe in you, and I hope things will get better. I hope this helps a bit, but if it doesn't I can totally delete it.
@@gayclown69 It's always ok to cry. And I'm glad I could help, I get nervous saying things like this because I'm worried that it will hurt someone who's already hurting. Also, some mom friends can be a bit shy sometimes(like me), so you need to keep your eye out if you want to befriend them. Just be nice, don't rush it, and be considerate.
"I don't get trans people" Yeah, that's fine. You're not trans. you don't need to "get it". There is no need to fight against something you don't understand. It can be a thing without it affecting your life, you can accept it for what it is without "getting it"
This is such a common argument people hold; "I don't get it, therefore it's bad and must be stopped". It even goes down to very tiny things (which of course can have huge consequences), like "I don't get how you can predict future events, therefore it's now illegal to use prediction for city planning".
@@zeus-wp6oz That sounds like irrational fear and sure many LGBTQphobic people are like that. My opinion is get it or not get it it's someone else life it dosen't affect yours
@@zeus-wp6oz Some people might just be really knowledgeable on the subject. Just because they fully understand doesn't mean they need to consider their cis status because of that.
I love the man in that video, he gave his daughter the best birthday gift possible by publicly defending her rights to live, and he didn't mess up her pronouns once. Even when he couldn't say daughter he said child instead of son, neutral instead of misgendering. We need more people like him I'm the world.
One of my rabbis testified in front of the Missouri legislature against Missouri’s anti trans bills and I am so proud that he’s one of my rabbis (and the other four are just as trans friendly and supportive as him). I got to watch a video of his testimony and it made me tear up so much.

I just want to say thank to you Jamie. I’m a cis lesbian and my friend came out as trans to me a couple months ago , ofc I was happy for him but I realized that I didn’t know a lot about the trans community so I watched your (and other trans creators) videos to educate myself and be a good ally.
The transphobic people at my school are so brave- there’s a girl that came out as trans (mtf) and some guys were complaining about how they had crushes on her and it’s “gay” and asked her about her genitals i- i’ve been called the T slur *multiple* times and my school does barely anything about it Edit: don’t worry everyone, the girl in this story is okay! she moved to a different school and is hopefully surrounded with a ton of supportive friends! :D
Gender assigned at birth shouldn’t be a reason to exclude trans women from cis women. I heard this somewhere else, but if a cis woman is tall and is good at basketball then she’d be praised and complimented for being born for the sport. If a trans woman is good at basketball then she’d be ridiculed for having a “biological advantage”. But that’s not how it works. Cis women can have biological advantages, too
Unfortunately, it's not actually how it works. Look up Caster Semenya. She's a cisgender Olympic level athlete who has faced allegations of being trans or doping because she naturally has high levels of testosterone and has personally been affected by the decision to regulate how much testosterone an athlete can have in their system and compete in the women's competitions. So cisgender women with certain biological advantages are being told to either compete against men or undergo treatment to reduce their natural testosterone levels (despite such treatment being recognized as being quite harmful).
@@violeth2255 oh no, that’s horrible D: I didn’t know that Either way, women whether trans or cis shouldn’t be discriminated against for seeming/being trans just because they’re good at sports
Most trans women do have an advantage when it comes to sports, and when it comes to Olympic-level or quite competitive levels they generally have a mayor advantage. I can’t believe people deny it.
Missouri gal here and I’m literally crying after hearing that amazing father speak out for his daughter and others so powerfully. Thank you so much for sharing that.
Who can look at a little girl having fun with her friends and see that as wrong or dangerous? They're kids. They don't care about each other's genitals. By forcing her out, these adults are not only teaching her to be ashamed of herself, but teaching the other girls to fear and ostracize her. Is that really what they want? I thought we were supposed to teach our kids good values.
@squada la I can't force you to change your mind, but I just think it's sad that you could say that to a child, knowing full well that it would likely upset them and affect their confidence. You do what you think is right.
Rainbow magic. Every LGBT+ person under the age of -1 is able to use rainbow magic to make themselves impossibly pretty. Jamie turned -92 on the 104th of last month.
That man is a real parent. Many parents lose focus on their child's happiness over traditional values and things that ultimately harm the child. Once I became a parent I realized how stupid it was to force kids to dress a certain way or be something that they clearly aren't. Its very nice to see this religious person overcome the obstacle of religion as well. That's where most parents have trouble deciding on wether to support their child or not. I've unfortunately witnessed it myself in one of my in-laws. They chose God over their child's happiness.
"Let them have their childhood" hit hard because I know many of us trans kids have to grow up too fast because of all the trauma and shit we get so yes please let us have our childhood ffs
From a cis bi girl to all trans peeps out there: You're valid. And if no one told you today, I love you. ❤🧡💛💚💙💗💜 You deserve to be who you are & to be happy.
I love how they're pretending to care about girl''s sports (and possible scholarships), yet firmly believe that anyone AMAB is going to automatically be superior to EVERY cis girl.
Yeah, it's not only transphobic but sexist af. I also don't get why you have to be so competitive about children running around with rubber spheres of air. What is so important about it that we sacrifice these children's entire childhood, that we force trauma and shit on them? Ugh. Like, I never liked sports, not because I was bad at them, although I was, but because people made it too competitive to feel comfortable. I always felt like I was gonna get literally beaten to the ground if they expected me to catch something and I missed, so like, I just didn't try so no one would expect anything of me, lol. I'd be a lot better at sports if they hadn't made it so toxic, cause I actually enjoy physical activities, although I'm not the fittest. I just like having fun and running around and feeling free and the happiness when you make a shot or something, and I know I enjoy teamwork. I actually probably would've been great at sports had they not made me despise it due to the mindset. And the yelling. Why do coaches all yell like their army sergeants? I have emotionally abusive parents, tone it down, where's the volume button. At least like, don't give me a look when I cover my eyes or flinch, I have sensory processing issues, and your volume makes me feel like I shoved glass in my ears, but alright, just gotta repress that feeling too-
Personally, what intrigues me the most is when you hear the rhetoric used is that it seems as if men are lining up to completely ruin girl's sports. My mind tends to immediately wonder something in the order of: "So, when was identifying as female when you are born male ever a popular thing? Are people seriously thinking a whole line of people would seriously run the risk of getting fierce backlash from basically everyone they know?"
What makes you think people are only "pretending" to care about girl's sports ?? What a dumb thing to say. Biological males have a physical advantage over biological females and we all know this. So yes they do have an unfair advantage and yes they will dominate or at the very least do better than most of the female athletes.
The honesty of this man is extremely rare. Not many people/parents would admit their bad past choices like that aloud. Good for him you can tell he loves his child deeply.
The way that father described his daughter and how her life improved is almost word for word how my parents describe me and the change they saw in me once I started to transition to male. It was almost surreal to hear. The world needs more parents like him and like my parents, who are willing to speak out and support the trans people in their lives.
My dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and cousins all say I vastly changed for the better once I came out and started transitioning. My mom, on the other hand, frequently sends me religious messages and scare articles about the "horrors" of "mutilation." She also says I'm a demon riding in her daughter's corpse. She's not welcome around me anymore.+
I'm visiting my great aunt and her son today, I came out just a few months ago and I haven't seen them since coming out. The first thing my cousin said to me was, "You look so much happier already."
I asked my grandma that I assumed was anyone-who-isn’t-straight-and-cis-phobic what she would say if I was to come out as something other than cis and she said that she wouldn’t care about me any less so I might actually officially come out as non-binary soon so that’s cool Edit: to anyone saying that they wish that their parents/grandparents/whatever were more accepting, I am now your family.
My Grandma (mum’s mum) is quite accepting of LGBTQ+ (except when she told me being aroace is a choice but, not my point) and my Nana (dad’s mum) isn’t even accepting of the fact that I’m autistic and claims it’s “Just a phase” (I’m still her favourite out of me and my brother though).
When I came out to my grandma as ace, she threw a fit and started talking about how her father killed herself, her husband killed herself, her son turned against her and now this. Like me not wanting sex is some family tragedy. My other grandma immediately started knitting me things in the colours of ace pride and told me that no matter what I want or who I want, I'd always be her little grandbaby.
@@juliameyer10313 Gosh, you kids are precious little things. What's the reason you need to impose the details of your sex lives on your grandmothers, exactly? How on god's green earth did not wanting sex become your entire identity?
@@asparagus5428 Considering that if you don't tell them, they'll be the ones at every wedding and birth in the family to start asking the youngsters who haven't made those steps yet when it's gonna be their turn and if they have a boyfriend/girlfriend yet... If my grandmother is going to impose her cis, hetero expectations on me, then I have the right to tell her what I want out of life so she knows she's not getting what she wants. It's not about it being your entire identity. It's about other people expecting you to have an identity that contains thing A, thing B and thing C, and you telling them that instead of thing B you actually have thing F. And you also have thing A and thing C and a whole alphabet of other interests, hobbies and future plans, this is just one part of them - it would be the same story if you're talking about a kid whose parents try to push them into sports when they happen to really like maths. If you are not going to shut up about all the tennis trophies you expect me to win, then at some point I'm going to tell you that I would really prefer to spend my life calculating prime numbers.

I'm a straight cis man and will fight for transrights until my dying breath. That video made me cry. It's so disheartening to be on social media around posts about transpeople, or even when I get the opportunity to speak about the issues with my friends (most of whom are very vocal supporters about other social issues) and they just kinda shut down and get really awkward. I have nothing but the greatest respect to transpeople who have to live everyday of their lives fighting these battles.

@squada la Out of curiosity why do you come to a trans persons video to spread hate? First of all I am a woman and I will always be a woman. You guy/gal/non-binary pal are simply a hatful individual with zero respect for other people. Your lack of understanding is sad I hope you learn how to respect other people and their identity.
@squada la So Cis women who have naturally deep voices, and cis women who can’t have kids aren’t “actual woman”? First of all you are right a dress and makeup doesn’t make me a woman those are gender neutral things anyone can wear. I am a woman because my brain is that of a woman I was born in the wrong body. A trans girl can get surgery to get a vagina. I am a real woman. Trans men are real men and trans women are real women. You are just ignorant and wrong.
I wanted all the beautiful trans boys, girls and non binary people (thanks alchemy saga for letting me know I should change it) to know this, I, a cis man, really, really admire and look up to a lot of you. I have been watching Jamie for about a month now to try and be the best ally I can be at my age (14). These videos have told me a lot about the things a lot of you trans people including the problems you face, external and internal, and I'm just so amazed to how, through all the negativity, you all remain to be some really nice, wholesome and inspiring people. I hope you all have someone in your life that can help you through your problems, I really do.
I started crying when the man was speaking about his daughter. I wish all parents could be like that and accept their kids for who they are, god bless him and is daughter
The trans athlete thing gets me. I happen to be a "trans" woman and I compete in combat sports. I am not out.... and it has never been a problem. As I say, I have won and I have lost. In the 10 years I have competed and trained seriously, I have never had someone come to me and say I am dominating. I am conscience of my body... I was sporty before, but nothing significant (played hockey, soccer, rugby and skied). I did notice a huge drop in muscle. I used to look at a barbell and my biceps would grow. Now I can do curls all I want and I got the same girly, while strong arms. One thing I have to do before a fight is weight cut. And because women generally have fewer weight classes, I have to significantly drop my weight from a walking weight of 190ish pounds down to 175 or less depending on the bout... And loosing weight now is the most horrid thing.... and I have missed weigh ins because of it. I can't loose weight like I used to.... Just can't... Fat remains despite my 6 days a week training sessions and good diet, although I do love some frozen yogurt sometimes. I am not as fast now and I don't recover as well. I played football (soccer) as well for a while. I was on a div 3 team, our team made it up to div 2 for a while, but that was it. I only scored a few goals. Boy was I not dominating... I did have a few injuries though..... Crazy how some just don't look at the facts and what transitioning does to the body. One more tidbit. I had an ex who was a far better runner, would beat me every race we would run together. She was cis.... cleaned my clock every time. If there are advantages, I sure haven't seen them in terms of sports.

Jamie, have you ever considered writing captions for your videos to make them more accessible? I'm autistic and struggle with audio processing, and having captions helps info stay in my head for longer! I really hope you can!
I am watching this as my grandpa is watching tv about why these bills in the US should pass. (Aka Fox News) I’m just sitting in my room, still able to hear it, wanting to fight these people on why they don’t think people should live their lives. I mean, that’s like banning plastic surgery! They are so similar, it’s just people trying to be comfortable with who they are!
When he was giving his background, I got so ready to hate him. Then he mentioned his daughter and I could hear the care in his voice and I love this man now.
And a mom with children you are very young, toddlers, this gave me chills. It only took the father talking for a couple seconds and I had literal chills. In a good way.
This made me cry. I’m a parent of a non-binary kid in Texas. It’s not easy. You can tell which teachers are “accepting” (or just tolerant) of my kid and their gender identity simply because the teacher *has* to be. Simply because I can sue if they’re not. I also think it’s a bit easier because my kid has zero preference on pronouns. So at school everyone defaults to he/him since my kid is AMAB. But they have friends that use feminine pronouns or neutral pronouns for them and it’s no big deal. But I think if my kid insisted on using they/them, we’d have already run in to a fight with the teachers. It’s terrifying living here, but we’re pretty much stuck here. We’ve tried to move multiple times and it never works out. At a minimum I’d love to move to a more liberal part of the state (on top of my kid being non-binary, we’re atheist and at the far opposite end of the political spectrum from our very conservative community), but even that hasn’t worked out.
Oh gosh, I can't imagine what you're going through. Or I can, because I have a trans son myself, but we luckily don't live in the US. We're spending the summer abroad too though to get my son the access to gender-affirming health care he cannot get in our home country either. Hope you'll be able to move! Don't let it get too bad. All the best!
@@Amara87387 I’ll tell you what I tell my kid: if it’s at all an option, go to college outside of Texas. If you have to stay in Texas, move to Austin if you can, but the best thing would be to get out of the state entirely once you’re old enough. I love my kid, and the thought of them moving to Colorado or Oregon breaks my heart, but they’d be SO much safer in one of those states than they would be here. And you would be safer in one of those states (or states like them) than here too. Much love.

For the sake of the children: Get on their level and play with them. Listen to them and hear what they’re saying. Let them explore, think, and create. Don’t silence them. Don’t get angry just because they’re being annoying or bratty. Be the adult(calm and rational). Let them express themselves. Teach them to be safe. The bill that only "biologically female" people can play in women's sport is so dumb. That means that trans men can play in women's sports. Trans men who are on T. Which would give them an advantage over cis women. Which is exactly what the bill claims it wants to prevent. Transphobes are really that dumb, huh? (There's probably something about hormones/doping in there, but in essence, it's just ridiculous) The video made me tear up. These laws benefit no one. They are purely designed to push trans folk back in the closet, to "make them go away", to pretend they don't exist or can be taught differently, because some people in power don't understand, don't want to understand, don't accept people different from them.
Tell me about I had this argument with people no proof they just keep saying it's biology no proof what so ever just drives me mad this people don't give a dam about women sports they just want to hurt trans people
fwiw any sports that have drug testing wouldn't let trans men on T participate in Women's sports (and when there is no testing, all the women are blasting T and other PEDs anyway) so the issue you're raising isn't real.

As a non-binary creature, I find it very heartwarming to see such a genuine display of support towards trans-gender people. The country I live in, and the language we speak don't really give a lot of space (if any at all) for gender-neutral people and it's always been a massive hold-back for my self-esteem. I hope I can one day be as unapologetically myself as this man's daughter. Keep being awesome my trans friends.

that dad should get the Dad of the Year award! ❤️ I nearly teared up watching him talk about his daughter with such love and respect. I wish more parents would understand that it's not just enough to love and protect your children, parents need to also respect their children as individuals with their own minds and hearts.

Of course, given that most trans women go on hormones, they experience more or less the same difficulty in gaining muscle mass as a cis woman does. I suspect that's why there's not a huge difference.
This made my heart feel so full ❤️. It's so easy in media, law and general conversations for people to get so caught up in talking ABOUT trans people that it dehumanizes them. They become objects of discussion rather than real people with lives, struggles, interests, friends and emotions. Sharing these perspectives and experiences is so important in combating that. So thank you Jamie - you absolutely wonderful human - for widening my perspective to all guys, gals and non-binary pals. Though I wish it didn't have to be this way, keep on fighting. You have friends who will stay by your side ❤️✊
This video really changed my mind, at first I thought that trans women/ trans girls had an advantage over other women / girls in sports. But after watching this video with an open mind I've realized that it's not about about the sport but about getting excepted by the rest of the world and that includes in sports as well. Yeah, that's fine. You're not trans. you don't need to "get it". There is no need to fight against something you don't understand. It can be a thing without it affecting your life, you can accept it for what it is without "getting it"
Yeah, also because if you “get it”, you might want to reconsider if you’re actually cis or not
This is such a common argument people hold; "I don't get it, therefore it's bad and must be stopped". Cis women can have biological advantages, too
this NEEDS more attention
Unfortunately, it's not actually how it works. Look up Caster Semenya. She's a cisgender Olympic level athlete who has faced allegations of being trans or doping because she naturally has high levels of testosterone and has personally been affected by the decision to regulate how much testosterone an athlete can have in their system and compete in the women's competitions. So cisgender women with certain biological advantages are being told to either compete against men or undergo treatment to reduce their natural testosterone levels (despite such treatment being recognized as being quite harmful).
fools cis people h@t3 the truth.
@@violeth2255 oh no, that’s horrible D: I didn’t know that

Who can look at a little girl having fun with her friends and see that as wrong or dangerous? They're kids. They don't care about each other's genitals. I thought we were supposed to teach our kids good values.

@@kiralonely1307 I can relate...
Well said!!!
Good for him you can tell he loves his child deeply.
it's sad that people who are able to admit they were wrong are so rare
The way that father described his daughter and how her life improved is almost word for word how my parents describe me and the change they saw in me once I started to transition to male. It was almost surreal to hear. The world needs more parents like him and like my parents, who are willing to speak out and support the trans people in their lives.
u are amazing and i am so glad u have ppl who can support u w ur transition . i hope u are staying safe and having a wonderful day
My dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and cousins all say I vastly changed for the better once I came out and started transitioning.
I asked my grandma that I assumed was anyone-who-isn’t-straight-and-cis-phobic what she would say if I was to come out as something other than cis and she said that she wouldn’t care about me any less so I might actually officially come out as non-binary soon so that’s cool
Edit: to anyone saying that they wish that their parents/grandparents/whatever were more accepting, I am now your family.
Good luck!! Finding out people are less close minded than you thought is always such a good feeling ❤️❤️

I’m a trans girl in Texas it’s rough here. I hate it so much
@@Amara87387 I’ll tell you what I tell my kid: if it’s at all an option, go to college outside of Texas.
Much love.
@@Annie_Annie__ that’s the plan. I’m in college, going for my BA. I’ll move to Austin to get my masters, then move to Europe

The ones that prohibit withholding of information are very dangerous. I was out as enby at school way before I was out at home, and while I'm out to my parents now I still don't feel safe around them.
this it's enabling @bus3.
How does Jamie constantly look so amazing?!?

I'm not trans, but I have a few friends who are. I've alerted them to your channel and they all love you. Please carry on! Despite the horrifying idiots.
I was already watching Jammi, but my cousin who's cis also told me about him. I'm glad he cares, even if any already knew about him just remember you probably made them happy that you care.
There are always people who will support you! If no one in your life does, then know that this stranger on the internet does ❤️

as a missourian myself, hearing about hostile bills for here but then seeing a video like that.... it does hit different. im glad people like him are fighting for us. i dont really care about or think about sports but so many people obviously do, and just cause it doesnt effect me doesnt mean its not important.
For the sake of the children:
Get on their level and play with them.
Listen to them and hear what they’re saying.
Let them explore, think, and create.
Don’t silence them.
Don’t get angry just because they’re being annoying or bratty. Be the adult(calm and rational).
Let them express themselves.
Teach them to be safe.
Meet their needs(physical/mental health, emotional, dietary, etc.).
Don’t let your feelings/embarrassment affect their ability to be free/happy(don’t force your feelings on them).
Trust and respect has to go both ways and can’t be demanded.
that clip of the dad's speech made me emotional, i have tears in my eyes 🥺
if only all dads could be supportive as him.... (minus the initial denial)
He gives me so much comfort, I hope that I can come out one day. Jammi gives me courage I hope that I can gather up that courage one day. I love you, the person reading this, even if ur not LGBT. (If jammi is reading this I'm sorry, I think I miss spelled ur name)

THANK YOU for being here. I am not a transgender person but this really touched me.
I always tried to be as welcoming, understanding and supportive but this reminded me how much more important it is than I feel on a daily basis. This reminder was very much needed.
did anyone else crying really hard when the father was talking about his daughter? it just hit me rlly close to home bc as a trans girl who is not accepted by her family i just felt so alone for so many years of my childhood like i was trying to be someone else. i wish my family could have come around or that i could have talked about how i felt earlier so maybe they could have believed me and it's breaking my heart :'(
EDIT: "let them have their childhoods" oh gosh i'm going to cry even harder now... i lost my childhood and it broke me and idk if i can ever get over it bc i'm so old and ugly or at least i feel that way sometimes when i get dysphoric. like starting hrt helped me so so so so so much and i'm so so so so so much happier now but i just wish i could have started earlier and like, gone to high school as a girl yknow? grown up and lived and made memories as a girl... :((
I'm not trying to be mean but you've got to fully let that go. You can't reverse time and your just letting the past screw with your present efforts to improve your life and be yourself. Let the past lay behind you, like the dead, and concern yourself with it no longer. Stop mourning for opportunities lost and be eager for the ones you'll experience in the future.
The dad of my partner could probably tell a similar story except it took way into their adult live to accept them. I'm so happy for the kids of that dad that they can have that acceptance and support relatively early in the life
i live for the "HEY SPUDS! Hows it going? I'm glad you're here!" it makes me so happy :]
When you live in a state that has no anti-trans laws: *happi*

♥️👍
Sometimes parents are more scared of you coming out then you are and it can really hurt that someone who is supposed to love you unconditionally doesn't want you to be yourself because they don't want you to get hurt but by doing that they are hurting you more than they could ever know
Im an educator in Alabama and im terrified of the proposed bill and what it could mean as far as teachers legally having to out students to their parents. I will never out a child (or anyone), I'd rather lose my job, but I really worry that many other teachers would do so
That's really eerie honestly. That seems like a set up for further legal persecution down the line. Reminds me of Lavender Scare stuff.
I'm bawling now.. if gets through to even one person.. I'm so thankful he came around and let his daughter be herself. I'm just so overwhelmed rn 😭
I recently came out as bisexual to my entire class, homeroom teacher included. Me and my friend did a drama thing, she was meant to be my reflection in a mirror and we both had papers, you could not see what was on them. Then we turned and showed the class the paper. It said "I'm bisexual" I cried and that made her cry. All the girls in are class came up to us and hugged us. The boys said congratulations. Overall everyone was SUPER supportive and idk why but i though I would share this.
I- i love that thank you for sharing it.
Congratulations ❤️well done, I am so proud of you💖💜💙(:
My class would hate that tbh, i just assume because my friends are incredibly homophobic (they are strong believers in the whole God-hates-gay thing, which i do not believe) so i assume everyone at my Christian school is like that
i’m so happy for u :DDD
@@エリン-o9h I'm so sorry! There are a few people like that in my school but not in my class luckily. Hopefully they change there mind about LGBTQ people.
"and it was then that it hit me. My daughter was equating being good with being someone else"
that quote is super important and rung true with me, both as someone who's trans & non-binary and as someone who's autistic, we cannot have people, especially children, equating good with not being themselves, autistic kids are (or should be) allowed to show autistic behaviors like stimming, trans kids are (or should be) allowed to change their hair, wear the clothes they want, go by a different name, and go by different pronouns
Updates on the Arkasas bill.
1) The governor vetoed it
2) The state senate overruled the veto
as a transmasc person who's pre everything its just. so upsetting to think that there are SO many people willing to do so much just to deny my existence or potential happiness. so saddening
Sending you some love and acceptance ❤

That’s all I had to say. Thanks for teaching me!
Jamie is the only youtuber who gives me genuine comfort in who I am and actually eases my dysphoria I'm so grateful
The jumper is such a pretty color
This is not okay, we need to do something about this! I literally cried during this video because of how angry, and upset I am.
That dad talking about his daughter though
The bill that only "biologically female" people can play in women's sport is so dumb. That means that trans men can play in women's sports. Trans men who are on T. Which would give them an advantage over cis women. Which is exactly what the bill claims it wants to prevent. Transphobes are really that dumb, huh? (There's probably something about hormones/doping in there, but in essence, it's just ridiculous)
The video made me tear up.
@@hakesho Which I acknowledged btw.
@@n3v3rm0r3 Exactly. It's never about "protecting girls/women", only about hurting trans people. They don't care about science, either
Trans men on 'T' are not as strong as biological males. Also they don't get any taller and their frame never gets as big as a male frame.
There's a trans dude in the grade above me who as far as I know doesn't have the most supportive of parents. I don't know him very well but he's a super nice kid with great friends.
Anyways he posted on our GSA google classroom last week that he had gotten his binder and I just want to say I'm happy for him and yah that's it, have a great day folks.
I'm not trans, but the struggle to be accepted as yourself by those you love most is universal.
Hey Jamie! I love your content! Just wanted to let you know, you’ve been a source of lots of laughs during this whole pandemic, so thanks :) I found out I was gay after watching lots of Grey’s Anatomy during quarantine, and your channel has been a cool place to go and, laugh about being gay, so I just wanted to say thanks :)
Omgg what season are you in?!
Also I'm so happy for youu
As a non-binary creature, I find it very heartwarming to see such a genuine display of support towards trans-gender people. The country I live in, and the language we speak don't really give a lot of space (if any at all) for gender-neutral people and it's always been a massive hold-back for my self-esteem. I hope I can one day be as unapologetically myself as this man's daughter. Keep being awesome my trans friends.
Got my name legally changed today. I wish I had that dad. I told my parents how proud I was to have done it and they said "glad you are pleased with your decision". Its crushing.
i have no clue who you are but i like your vibes.
have a cookie and some milk 🍪🥛
that dad should get the Dad of the Year award! ❤️ I nearly teared up watching him talk about his daughter with such love and respect. I wish more parents would understand that it's not just enough to love and protect your children, parents need to also respect their children as individuals with their own minds and hearts.
Finally seeing PRO-trans ads on your vids is cool. just thought you'd like to know
I did too! Mine was a statefarm ad with a transgender woman as the main focus of the ad.
As a trans kid who lived in Missouri for 2 years (I'm visiting this summer as well), not all people are bad there surprisingly.
One thing that makes me mad is that no one's saying shit about trans men in men's sports. It's all focused on trans women, and I cannot imagine the shit they have to live through. To any trans women reading this, power to you, ma'am.
@@cthulhucrews6602 Once trans women are on estrogen any advantage dissipates, however. Muscle density and such drops to the average cis women's levels, there many studies and first hand accounts explaining it, granted it can take some years for it to fully take hold.
Trans men's testosterone levels compared to a cis man's shouldn't be any higher either, doctors make sure the dosage is of an average amount, but I can certainly see how it could form an advantage.
But I am NO expert on the subject either, so if you know better feel free to correct me
@@cthulhucrews6602 In that situation you are definitely right; not everyone goes on hormones and that could cause problems
Omg that man talking about his daughter actually made me cry-
Wish my parents would do that-
I am honestly so relieved seeing the statistics from the olympic medal thing... I always defended transpeople but i didnt know if it might acutally be unfair, this gives me hope that the disparity between transwomen and ciswomen isnt big
Cis women aren't necessarily weak as people think, rather it's just harder for them to gain muscle mass than it is for most cis men.
Yay, I'm 6th~
Thanks for showing us this cool dad! The new laws are so awful...
This video really changed my mind, at first I thought that trans women/ trans girls had an advantage over other women / girls in sports. But after watching this video with an open mind I've realized that it's not about about the sport but about getting excepted by the rest of the world and that includes in sports as well. I always thought that I was very forward thinking, but by thinking so I failed to see my own flaws. So thank you for opening my eyes!
My teacher decided to lecture the entire class on why the bills should pass and how a “man” could be on people’s soccer groups. She basically was fear mongering the entire class about this.
