    • @SoniaSephia

      Whenever they say my boyfriend or girlfriend is "too nerdy to cheat," it's just a low-key way of saying "they're too ugly to cheat." People who say such things need to be immediately dumped! 😆

      Completely understand the sentiment of your statement (bc cheating can happen to and from anyone, and I've def gotten cheated on by someone who was/is a huge nerd and anime fan), but in this case iirc the tiktoker and bf are actually pretty sweet so just going based on that in this instance I think she was saying that her bf has hobbies that he's clearly comfortable with sharing them with her (iirc they're both star wars fans too). I really don't think it was exploitive. However, I've definitely seen degrading versions of this tiktok and it's very upsetting.

    • @jasper3706
      @jasper3706 3 года назад +147

      @@mavisseafoam I think generally the difference you're thinking about is the adjective vs the noun! Female is more often used as an adjective, whereas the noun form is almost exclusively used either in science or by sexists, because "woman" is universally preferred by most people. The noun form of "female" often feels clunky in this context, and you're left sort of looking for a noun (person or human) that isn't present.
      Edit: Also, outside of science, female (adj) is generally "of or pertaining to *women*" and the correct noun form for like 99% of sentences would be woman, not female. For example, "female sports" is "sports for women," "female washrooms" are "the women's room," etc. etc. So when somebody uses the noun female, they're going out of their way to not use the term woman, and we instinctively question their motives. Like calling a burger "sustenance." Yeah, it's technically true... but why aren't you calling it food?

    I am the only menstruating being living in my house. I live with two other women, my mom and my sister, but my mom doesn't get periods anymore and my sister takes medicine to not get them because she gets such terrible cramps and headaches and her body just collapses everytime.
    So, I am the only menstruating being living in this house. If we were going by some transphobes' logic, I would be the only woman living here. See the problem? It just doesn't make sense. It's a logicless logic.

The moon is made out of frozen lemonade. So, the moon is pink." This is absolutely valid, flawless logic, even if being absolute bullshit at the same time, because the premises are wrong. Only because something is "logic" doesn't mean it says anything true about our world. Logic isn't truth. It can be, if the premises are true (which, in the cases that we talk about, aren't). But "logic" in itself doesn't say anything about the applicability of the conclusions to our world. Hello Cactus. I hope you are doing well. I’m just popping in to let you know I’m still here, although I’m not sure how long that’s going to last. Please tell the others that I miss them and I’m trying to think of ways to come back to the server, and that they can get through whatever they’re going through. Stay strong :)

    I got harassed by homophobes today.
    These teens (who are a large family of about seven brothers) assumed that me and my friend are gay and they chased us home on bikes and threw mud in my eye (there is still a piece in the back of my eye that won’t come out) and threw sticks at us while shouting homophobic slurs.
    I’m glad it wasn’t worse bcz ppl have had horrific things happen but this needs to stop.

    I also hate being referred to as a "female" and I'm a cis woman. It's just always felt condescending. and slightly offensive to me, I guess because it's always been used that way towards me.🤷‍♀️

    the use of “females” for women is very dehumanizing... like with “females” you can be referring to any creature that happens to be female. hearing it always gives me slimy vibes

    Two people call women "females". People trying to exclude trans women and incels dehumanizing women

    7:30 I'm so sorry, but this is so cute how he's just talking. It's adorable~ Seems like a joke, but he was just so passionate talking about his figurines that it would suck if she didn't care
