Andy,,,never tire of the road, I have seen videos of you performing in GB Italy NZ USA Ireland of course and Im pretty sure Germany and Holland, Ive heard you many times at The Irish Harp Hotel Tempe, You are a minstrel a troubadour a goliard a minnesinger a bard a shenachie and Pierrot, You have kept faith with Woody Guthrie and sung The Ballad of Tom Joad, The world owes you thanks, You have mine, Never tire of the road
There's a few small errors here I know but running on no sleep. Also spacing might not be right on chords since I pasted it from fixed-width font program. Should be easy to fix up though! G C G D Come gather round you diggers who work the goldfields rare, G C D G It's of a trick was played on me which caused me to despair, G C G C I came to town the other day my hard earned gold to trade, G C D G 'Twas there I met a pretty maid, who did my heart betray. G C G D Her lips were red as roses, her eyes a deep sky blue, G C C D G Her hair as yellow as the gold, she stole from me and you. She took me to a public house and there we did imbibe, In whiskey and strong porter, and dreadful stuff besides, It's then she asked me up to bed, to which I did agree, But truth to tell I fell asleep, before she earned her fee. When I awoke next morning, no trousers could I find, But scattered all around me were women's clothes so fine. My jacket, shoes and gold had gone, and all that's left behind, Is a woman's dress, a yellow wig and a shaving kit, not mine. Why did she need the wig? Why did she need to shave? It's then the truth it struck me, in a fit of blinding rage. My pretty maid's a man I cried, be thanks I fell asleep, I'd rather lose a bag of gold, than face that dirty creep. To venture in the street again, I cautiously inclined, I had a shave, put on the wig, and wore the dress so fine, And as I walked along the road, a digger gave a wink. I thought of all the gold he had, so I offered him a drink. Now you might think it sinful, oh you might think it bold, To take advantage of the lads who struggle for the gold. It's easy putting on a dress and drinking whiskey neat, But leave your shaving kit behind when they are fast asleep.
alltubez I think it is this one, from his website. Recently, following the lead of Dónal Lunny, Rens van der Zalm and Nikola Parov, I commissioned a bouzouki-shaped bouzouki from the famous Japanese guitar makers - K.Yairi. He also plays a Fylde and Sobell, as well as a Davy Stuart.
Sneeds favourite song
Nice Andy love it
Pay it forward....as they say....
I love this song so much! 😂😂😂😂
One of the funniest Songs ever
Doug Anthony All Stars did a song called 'Sailor's Arms' which also seems inspired by 'Patrick Street'.

I came for bouzouki music, but stayed for the song. The experience is not only that of miners. LOL
Great song absolutely brilliant
Incomparable
Without a doubt.
Great lyrical development of a trad song well sung and very well played.

Does anyone know how I would could this on guitar? like is there a tab somewhere or chords?
You could have a search on the session.org but not sure you will have any luck...
I believe you might also need to change the tuning

Who made this Bouzouki?
