Good demo for someone starting. I hand paint details as well. Fine tipped artist brushes make a big difference. Accurate detail painting adds realism. Good job.
I did the black rims painting in my 1/24 SRT Viper GTS and it is worth it! Luckily the front wheels doesn't move so I unscrewed the car and move the axel and tires and spray it with matte black it's cool!
I know when you paint real rims with the tire still on you can put some dish detergent like Dawn where you don't want paint to stick and then you can just wipe it off.
Dang, my process is way different, i usually take apart my cars or just take the tires off. I also use enamel paint which is heavy... Might use the canvas paint. Thanks

I love acrylic. If you mess up you can erase your mistake with a damp cloth. It's water based vs a testor brand type paint that is oil based.
