David Lam I’ll definitely go again, but I will sanitizer everything in our room daily. Carry hand sanitizer with me and wear a mask. I’m not letting it stop me. Our cruise in June was canceled but we will rebook.

After news broke out about the “health problems” on the Diamond Princess in Yokohama, Japan on February 08, 2020, the CDC should have suspended all cruising. Unfortunately, Dunce Trump said that COVID-19 was a hoax, travel continued in and out of the U.S. and the infection spread. If everything was shut down immediately, we would have flattened the curve and we wouldn’t be in the mess that we’re in today. Reopening businesses and beaches in time for Memorial Day was a disastrous mistake.

I hate how the cruise lines are being targeted. The reason why many cases were linked back to cruise ships is because testing was mostly being done on those who had travelled. Early-on, many were also getting sick in malls, restaurants, bars and concerts without anyone being diagnosed. Also, saying that the passengers should have been wearing masks and social distancing is ridiculous, because these ideas weren't really widespread until after the industry shut-down. Most cruise ships did take precautions. For example, starting in the first week of March, Carnival was taking everyones temperature, denying boarding do those with medical conditions, and even having the crew serve guests the buffet food. Just like all other industries in the world, cruise lines were caught off-guard.

I booked a cruise for March 2020 to Mexico - we cancelled - got credit back - may not be able to go still and won’t get money back... but at least I won’t get Covid. Why couldn’t you guys make the same decision as I did?

Nobody knew this was going to happen. How can you place the blame on the ship? & how could you have quarantine someone in their room? It doesn’t make any sense because it isn’t a closed air system. The air is just recirculated between rooms which means, you are all breathing the same aerosol particles. Nobody know this was going to happen.
If anyone joins a class action lawsuit against any cruise ship company because of COVID-19, should be avoided like the plague by the cruise industry, period.

I think for now at least they shouldn’t use the inside cabins, they don’t have access to open air. We always take a balcony. At least we can have outside air.

Why is it we can’t talk to the happy people about their cruise but we have to keep digging at the people that want to sue the cruise line? Simple answer, shut it down. Do we NEED to be floating on giant ships in the ocean AND have planes going to holiday destinations? One or the other, how can we say we care about the planet but have our meaningless selfish fun, doing things like holidaying on a cruise ship knowing it'll destroy the very ground beneath our feet? negligence on cruise ships not taking action and the peoples fault for knowing of the issue and still traveling. boith are to blame. but the cruise ships should have stopped the travel and check each patient and quarantine them off ship in some loaction and make sure they were ok. they flouted all responsibility. no masks distancing not letting passengers be aware of the status immedietly of other people being infected. 25% people 75% responsible the cruise lines.
