  • The F-150 Raptor is amazingly capable off road and on. But that does have a steep penalty at the pump, especially with the hardcore 37 package (meaning 37-inch tires). But, at least it beat EPA!

      Update hit 21.5 mpg on a long trip with alot of hills and 120 miles of town driving at 18.4 so 23+ mpg all highway should be possible

    I currently have a 2022 raptor 37 on order. And I purchased the Raptor over the TRX because I thought it would be a better daily driver. Besides my 2014 gt500 will look great sitting next to it .

    My Raptor 37 is getting 16.1 mpg running 75 - 77 mph. Air pressure in all tires is 40 lbs. If you run the truck hard plan on way less than 15 mpg.

    • @raba329
      @raba329 2 года назад

      That’s interesting. I’m getting around 15-16 on the trx going 70 and 12 in the city. Occasional full throttle bring it down to 10. I love in a hilly area that doesn’t help with the mileage either

      @@raba329 how do you like the way the TRX drives over the raptor? i have heard the steering is much heavier and just feels like a bigger rig.

      Yeah these fuel numbers have gotten me looking at other trucks now. I know not much compares to the raptor but filling this truck up sounds scary. Haha might go tremor 150 std eco boost

      I have a 22 Raptor with 35s and just did a 1200 mile trip. When I kept it 70/75 mph I was getting 21-23 mpg. When I bumped up to 80 mph- I got 18-19. Super impressed with this truck.

    I feel pretty good about my Gen 1 Raptor SVT now at least, my highway speed is between 55 and 60, and I get between 14.7 and 14.9 mpg. under average/high traffic. I felt bad at first because I have the 6.2 V8, and I was worried that I wasn't getting better. But from what you say about the Gen 2, and Gen 3 even, I am doing pretty good comparatively. These new trucks are geared towards better fuel economy due to the V6 engines, so this makes me feel much better about my own fuel economy.
    I don't get to drive my truck as a daily driver so that's also part of the equation as well. But overall I am pleased with a truck that will get @500 miles per tank if I needed to take a road trip.
    Thanks for the info, and the video. Raptors rule!❤

    I got 37 in gen 3 and i have 2k miles with avg 10.5mpg but I mostly drive in city. I also drive pretty hard b/c of the exhaust. So pretty bad.

    Nice test! The raptor doesn’t need premium fuel and that “ 3 click “ method isn’t a good practice. Over pumping can damage the evap system man

    Bout the same mpg as my 4Runner with aggressive tires lol. This raptor is my next vehicle. I owned a gen 2 before and depending on the road conditions, I can get almost 600 miles per tank at 70 mph. also can’t beat the comfort of a Raptor

    Charlie, I was enraptured by this Raptor mpg test. The highlight for me was 6:33 when you were passed by two Corollas at the same time. When we consider the Raptor has more horsepower in one cylinder than those cars have in their two engines combined, we are left with much food for thought ;-)
