Mine gets 11 but it was made in 1970 and has a built 454. And people complain to me about the cost of my eggs duck or chicken but I'm still cheaper than the grocery stores. A new truck would have to get 200 mpg and be reliable to justify replacing the old Chevy.
I love my Raptor 37! With a cap in the back and 500 lbs constant load, I still get 17-19 mpg going up and down hills from Oregon to California and back. Stopped to get gas exactly 1 time! Having the Raptor R would have been nice but I’d never trade anything for my current setup.
At my local gas station fuel is around $2.80. So, to completely fill the Raptor R would be 2.80x36=$100.8. To completely fill the Ranger Raptor would be 2.80x20.3=$56.84. I would much rather stick with the midsize. Still both trucks are too expensive for me!
Where do you live? Premium where I live is $3.18. I drive a Ram 1500 with the Hurricane engine and it has 33 gallons. $3.18×33=$104.94. So with the smaller tank it's still more expensive than your larger tank with the cheaper gas.
Not super surprising. In city traffic my Ranger Raptor and a used 2020 GT500 I picked up recently are within 2-3 MPG trip average if I'm driving like a normal person. Obviously the Mustang will really guzzle if it's driven-driven and the tank is hilariously small; but the Ranger isn't much better if it gets driven with some intent. For this reason I haven't given up my shitbox C-Max yet lol
Not having an ECO mode does not make a difference, my Ranger 3.0V6 Diesel has an ECO mode that is worse on the highway than the Normal mode, in the city it will do just a tiny bit better on ECO.
I don’t understand, my Ranger Raptor here in Europe does 13 l/100km at best, that’s 18MPG, now in Europe we get the same 3.0 ecoboost, but with only 292hp, meanwhile the 455hp US Ranger Raptor does 21MPG or 11.2 l/100km that’s insane I’m guessing this is some emissions bs, which doesn’t make sense either as less consumption = less emissions I’d think
emission is not just based on consumption, for basic CO2 it is somewhat right in thinking that less consumption = less emission but for everything else, there are so many variables which contribute to the overall emission...various things like engine temp, tuning, combustion timing, fuel type and the additives in it and so on can drastically vary the nox and pm emission... That engine is probably tuned in a way to reduce those particular type of emission in europe.
Two cool trucks, cousin Topoff would approve! Great test, you guys, though anyone interested in fuel economy wouldn't consider purchasing one of these two trucks for mileage purposes, however that said, it's still good to know the real-world parameters of what to expect with them. Now, let's see an acceleration test! That Raptor R is pretty fast, but the Ranger Raptor has a lot of power and much less weight.
@@ALMX5DP 'The easiest one is ethanol-free-I only tried it once when I found a station in the middle of nowhere with both versions of premium for the same price. It improved my mileage by ten percent (It usually costs more than ten percent more.)
Actually you get better gas mileage for the first quarter of the gas tank then it goes way down hill from there. But if you kept it 3/4 to full you would get the mileage you calculated
So other than a bigger cup holder, what are you actually getting buying the F150 R versus the Ranger Raptor? I assume someone buying this kind of sport/offroader truck is not towing.
Haven’t watch the video yet, but I’m not sure the real point. Anyone who buys this truck could care less about mpg, it’s not even a consideration This video is akin to a Prius video actually trying to get the worst possible gas mileage possible
Wheres the snow.. Nice trucks.. Id like a King Ranch Tremor w the hi output 6.7 Diesels Roush pkg. The comfort of that Class is amazing. In the mil we had a H1 which was better off road mileage geared for terrain that would be the test up wolf mountain of something like Tommy over the road to the Black Hills?
I have a 2022 ecoboost lariat with highway tires 36 gal tank. On highway trips i get nearly 850 miles to the tank. Im about to ruin it some with 33 ats 😭😂
@@jim-bob-outdoors I presume you have a diesel and it’s slightly less offroad focused than either of the trucks in this video? 30mpg UK is about 25mpg US, and we have a diesel option in our Silverado which can get 25+ in many of its trims. So yeah fuel type plays a role but also the larger gallon.
Had a ‘17 Raptor and didn’t have it long as it was too big for my liking as a daily. Recently bout a RR and it’s near ideal as it’s a 3/4 scale version and no less capable.
After removing all the fords from my driveway by way of tow truck over huge repair costs you need to include a stop at a mechanic that's not affiliated with the manufacturers and get the cost to replace wear items like alternator water pump timing components. The 4000 dollars to replace the water pump in a flex is why another new ford will never drain my account. Garbage expensive garbage.
The Raptor R is proof that not enough people know you can get a 50-state-legal, fully Ford warrantied Supercharger for the F-150 5.0 Coyote that will put 800hp to the ground. So save your money and get a Tremor 5.0 and smoke a Raptor R.
I havent seen the Ford Performance kits put down anywhere near that. Seems like the canned tune they come with is super conservative, to the point I almost doubt their marketing it as being 700hp, let alone more. As a 5.0 F-150 owner just gave me pause when researching it that without a non-warrantied tune it's just not that impressive.
“Topov was my cousin.” That one got me good! 😂
I giggled like a damn schoolgirl!
Andre always has the best dad jokes
People driving 15mpg trucks
complaining about egg prices
More like 10 or less in real world driving

'Ranger doesn't require premium'. 'Using it 'likely why it beat the 'estimate?
Premium is $6.82 or gallon where I am in Canada

You’re in love now aren’t ya
The comparison nobody considers but everyone will enjoy 😂

Man I'll say it again i lean towards Chevy and GMC. But wow the power the ranger has for a midsize truck is amazing.

The V8 Raptor is super cool, but also a total douchewagon at the same time.

Even less than half, though admittedly 300ish horsepower is still pretty darn acceptable for a half ton pickup truck.

$1,000 for a 50hp tune on parts you already paid for 🙄
What I want to know is how American trucks in general get such poor mpg? Trucks are new and the roads are good. 🤔
