I had an amazing time watching your videos! They’re so helpful and insightful. I was wondering if you think there’ll be a 22 Kavas Pro released in January?
Thanks for the comment! If I had to guess I would say we should expect new models in 2025. I definitely am hoping a 22 Kamvas Pro is part of that. Though, since they have a 19" model out now, they might stick with that since it is so close in size to a 22".
Thanks for all the time you put into this! For what it is worth, I totally agree that you stop noticing the Huion 27 softness after a few minutes. I love mine.
Excellent Idea to make a tier graph with all tablets. You have tons of information in your site (extremely useful, BTW), but it is good to see this in a graph, and hearing your motivation for each tablet positioning. BTW, there are some slight differences in the XPPen artist pro 4K version: 98% P3 color support vs 94% in the 165Hz version. Also, the 4K has 300 cd/m2 brightness vs 250cd/m2 (typical brightness in many older IPS screens) in the 1440p version. That typically means the 165hz version would be a bit dimmer, but most of us don't set the tablet that bright to work all day. In fact, I set it at a lowest brightness. With which I lose some color accuracy after calibrating, but I prefer to protect my eyes (I have a profile at higher brightness just to check stuff at the end). Mostly due to the warmth you mentioned I'd be inclined for the 4K version. Also, while both are said to support 99% Adobe RGB (which is the important one), not too happy with the difference in P3 (although both color spaces cover different color areas in the spectrum, that's maybe ok). Very intrigued about if the 4K has also increased parallax as you noticed in your 1440p version. It would seem as if the 4K is thought for more static image quality, color, etc, top image quality, and the 165Hz one more for video, anything animated or dynamic (tho...if so, strange to make the 1440p less bright, as that's not good for HDR movies and such (none of them support hdr, anyways). This aspect could mean the focus is not video editing, but 2D hand drawn animation, maybe. But I could be wrong. The rest of the specs seem pretty identical. Also, there's IMO a big difference between the Huion Kamvas 22 and the 22 Plus. IPS versus QLED (not QD-Oled, so no burn-in). It was a technological jump. I have the "bare" Kamvas, and I found it tends strongly to the reds and warm tones even after carefully calibrated with a colorimeter. I would hope the 22 Plus might be better at that, and also, apparently covers a much wider range of colors. The Kamvas 22 is merely sRGB (or just a bit more), which does not cut it for many projects for print, or even to get certain intense colors for screen-only. I am particularly curious about the 24 Plus, as I believe Huion released that one after the 22 Plus, so, could have had fixed the issues and be better, while also being a size which is my favorite, 24 inches. I would have liked it on the graph, but well... there are too many tablets in the market ;)
I love your information here! Thank you. I have a Huion Kamvas RDS-220 it's a 1440 pen display. It's been a workhorse for me. I got it at B&H, with that being said, I think I want tough for zoom, pan and rotate. Do you think Huion will release a 22 or 24 Pro with touch? 27 is sooo big (currently considering) and 19 is too small for my daily production needs.
@@thesevenpens Thanks much! Do you think these new sizes will be released in January at CES? I don't want to commit to buying a 27" if they are coming soon as 22" or 24" with touch would be the best size for my workflow.
I tried asking during the live, but I ended up missing the end of the live by a few minutes 😅, but I've always wanted to ask what the stars on your document for "tablet recommendations" meant. Like how the Kamvas Pro 19 and Xp-pen artist pro 16 gen 2 have 3 stars under "Drawing tablet recommendations > Medium pen display recommendations". Does this mean theyre better/worse than the tablets listed in the same size category? And so sorry if youve answered this before!
Good question. Since I have multiple "top picks" I originally wanted an easy way to indicate a single tablet that would be a good choice. It sounds like that might be confusing though. Do you think I should get rid of the the 3 stars? It sounds like it is causing confusion.
@@thesevenpens oh, i see!! For that purpose, I actually think they're great to have and you should definitely keep them! If a lot of people have asked this question before, I think it would be great to have that noted down somewhere under "drawing tablet recommendations". I'm not sure if you explained it somewhere on your document already, but I just personally had a difficult time finding information about what those stars meant.
Fantastic live. This Tier List content is very interesting. Which one would you recommend if you had to choose between the Movink 13 ($500) or the Artist Pro 19 Gen2 ($730). (These are the lowest prices I found in my country). I was leaning more towards the 19 because of its larger size, which would be more interesting for me. And because I don't care about the portabilitye, since I'll always use it on a large desk. But I was unsure whether it would be better to buy the Movink because of the quality of the Wacom, especially after seeing the price of this $500 promotion.
Thank you for the nice comment. It's a tough choice. Normally I would go for the Artist Pro 18 G2 for the size. However, I think it needs to be better with tilt compensation and I wish its X3 pro pen series were more consistent in their pressure range. So in this case, I might be tempted to go with the Movink since the drawing experience is better.
That was an oversight from me and more the result of my rushing to get the materials prepped for the video. I need to make a few tweaks to the tiers based on feedback and I will include the Xencelabs tablets.
@thesevenpens thank you for taking time to answer. I'm very excited to see the tweaked list. Not that I'm considering buying them, but nonetheless I want to hear your educated judgement. Currently I'm leaning toward the Huion pen display between 22 and 24". Already possessing an iPad Pro 12.9 and a Wacom Intuos Pro M (Bluetooth), I have to say that I'm a bit spoiled actually. I also possess the worst piece of s*** ever produced, namely: Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16, hence I am in dire need of any help by deciding what to buy. :D p.s. maybe I should wait until the end of January when Huion should announce new products for 2025.
Thank you! I really hope it helps people to find the right tablet for their needs. Merci ! J'espère vraiment que cela aidera les gens à trouver la tablette adaptée à leurs besoins.
I thought you would put the Intuos on C or D tier because those don't have tilt, no USB C and basically Wacom one Tablet have that and Bluetooth connectivity with Android. But I'm loving the Intuos M that I don't mind all of those things 😅. I'm pretty sure next year they are going to release a new lineup, it happened to me when I bought my first tablet (Intuos Draw) and I'm sure is going happen again haha
as for Huion, I don't like that their driver only allow switching screen display via a pen button. The app allows to add a shortcut key, but the shortcut NEVER works. I got the mini keypad thinking I could program a key for that as not waste a pen button... nope. shortcut will not translate. so, my issue with Huion (although, I love their tablets) is that communicating whti them is very difficult and definably - not fluid
Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5k vs Wacom Intuos Pro M? I've found that the Kamvas 16 2.5k is too small to draw on, so I've opted to use it as if it were a pen tablet. But that defeats the point.
This final updated tier list is here: docs.thesevenpens.com/drawtab/recommendations/7p-notes-other/7p-notes-drawing-tablet-tier-list-december-2024
2 hours of graphic tablets tier list? Yes, this my stuff. I'm sad I didn't catch this live

Thanks for the comment. I do think they will release a Pro pen display at 22" or 24" with touch. It's a big gap in their PenTech 4.0 lineup right now.

I'm a bit surprised that there is no single xencelabs tablet/pen display on the list. What could be the reason?

Honestly I think the best think to wait until Huion releases 24" tablets with pen tech 4.0. Or get the Kamvas Pro 19.

no gaomon
Many Gaomon tablets are rebranded Huion tablets, or at least at the beginning
I just don't have any gaomon tablets that I have personally spent any time with. That's why that brand wasn't included.
