- Welcome to Fulidhoo island and A&A Travelling. This beautiful island is located in the Vaavu Atoll, just 57 km (or just over one hour with speeboat) south of Male airport. With only 700m X 200m, and with around 300 permanent residents, Fulidhoo is all about the local island vibes, quiet but stunning in beauty.
The easiest way to get to the island is by speedboat and it takes just over one hour, and costs 40 USD per person. By public ferry it takes over twice the travel time, 3 hours but it only costs 3,50 USD.
WHAT TO DO IN FULIDHOO?
-Just relaxing in the bikini beach enjoying the waters around the island, is one of the most popular things to do.
-Kayaking in the lagoon is another way of enjoying the waters around the island.
-Volleyball is played every day in the island, and it`s an excellent way of interacting with the locals.
-Manta Rays snorkeling is definitely one of our favorite activities.
-Whale Shark Snorkeling is a popular activity when the whales are around.The resorts organize
excursions if they`ve been seen in the local area.
-Diving. There are a couple of diving centers in the island.
Stingray feeding the fishermen used to through their scraps to the stingrays, so they came close to the shores for a free meal. Now it has become more of a tourist attraction.
Cultural dance this island is famous in the Maldives for the local dancing and performances.
Definitely worth watching, and they perform regularly at cafes and local stadium.
Snorkeling day trip there are some stunning coral gardens around the island
The HIGH SEASON is from December to April and is also the best time for scuba diving.
ATM
There is no ATMs on the island, so make sure you have some cash with you. Some guest houses and hotels don`t acept credit cards. Here like in the rest of the Maldives USD are very welcoming.
--Alcohol is not available and the tap water isn`t drinkable.
INTERNET
There is wifi in the guest houses but we recommend you buying a sim from the airport on arrival, if you need to be online.
