what's the difference between the foley version and the other one, foley one is more expanded right - so need only foley version that contains the regular version?
TIP FOR FL USERS !! if you happen to make some sort of generative patch in vital/patcher/phaseplant/etc. and you wanna quickly export individual samples ->>>> record it in edison, then go to regions > auto-slice > (pick option that best suits the audio material), then file > export regions > for common use > (select folder) and itll export every region into its own separate file !! i recommend having your patch set up in such a way that it randomises parameters whenever a new note is played also be mindful of the bit depth that edison records/exports in; its set to 32-bit by default which can be useful in some cases but 16-bit is probably all you'll need + you can cut down on storage space :3
Bro these concept vids you’ve been doing have sent me down some really wild signal processing rabbit holes that have given me new juice in ableton. I’ve been pumping out some really fresh ideas using these techniques as a launch point. Thanks dude!
From the Conlon Nancarrow style midi patterns to a Yannis Xenakis style stochastic music style. You've been pushing the envelope lately, mad respect dude -Vimana Rider
I'd love to know more about the FM hi-hats! As a psytrance producer most of these racks are pretty useless for me as psy drums are fairly different from this, but making hats with FM sounds very interesting!
I don't release music yet but i have a passion for Ableton processes and this tickles my fantasy. please continue with your mindset and ideas as they are what I truly love about you as an artist
He would love BitWig for this. The “if this then that” stuff is all built into the grid and people have been making some crazy generative patches for a while. Some have recreated Serum from scratch for example. I need to dig through and find my old generative bass patches now cuz I haven’t had time with that in a while. Good stuff!
You're an absolute gem VR the things that come from your brain are absolutely fantastic and help so many people do so many things you really are a world-class human❤ Big UPS and one Love my man
Nice! This is dead easy to do in VCV Rack, haven't seen it done in a DAW though. The next step is randomly generating rhythm patterns and melodic sequences, then you can just set a key /BPM and bosh out an entire track.
these are really lovely!!! “Honestly can we get plugins with "meta-presets" that define the range of randomization of certain parameters?” - what if you assign some of plugin params to macros, limit their range, then you randomize those macros??
I think you would really enjoy looking into sv1's stuff. He has whole generative songs, and posts videos of that music being generated with Max on his YT channel.
Now you need to make a midi multiband envelope follower that matches the freq of the sample to pink noise so it makes it a frequency that fits in the song
feel like sooth 2 on the hats would be interesting, with its own randomized paramaters, sadly its not that sort of plugin that you can trust people would just... "have" :C
You can definitely do this type of thing in bitwig, except the modulators give you a lot more control so you could probably take it a lot further than this.
VR, please bring videos focused on more fundamental things about music production such as mixing/mastering tips for heavy bass music and designing arrangements, I think there are a lot of people with questions, including me and you, clarifying this will bring people to the next level ! I see there is a lot of vague information on the internet about this topic and learning from a heavy bass professional like you would be incredible!
The channel Alckemy Neuro does all sorts of things like this. Lots of random bass, pad, pluck, percussion etc. generators in Phase Plant, Bitwig, and Ableton. Check him out. He and his channel are hella dope.
bro at this point, with making conditionals in ableton and stuff, you could just make VST plugins with code directly and have it available for everyone :D
I forgot to mention: these all work in Ableton 11
bro these are amazing helpers to complete projects that ended bec of writers block fucking amazing !
That is good ;)
what's the difference between the foley version and the other one, foley one is more expanded right - so need only foley version that contains the regular version?
I tried to download the snare rack but didn't work in ableton 12 🥲
Virtual Riot's patreon is getting better than Splice
omg this is the truest shit I've ever seen
STOP BEING SO GOOD
fr this is ridiculous
Bro's really gonna generate a new planet with exclusively brand new auto-randomizing chemical elements in the next 20 years.
they should have hired him for the no man's sky sound engine that generates the animal noises procedurally
Dawg at this point I'm waiting for you to publish a video called "I contacted the spirits of the underworld and stole a synth from them"

absolutely seething that i do not use Ableton because this is the coolest shit
Surprised to see you here! Love your stuff!
I was just thinking about how I really don't mind being an FL main and ableton can't be thattt much better... then VR releases the god racks
Switch, I used fl for over a decade and now I’m on ableton. Took like a few hours to learn it, it’s worth switching imo
8:55 Virtual Riot hitting us with Megalovania action
sounds more like seinfeld action
😂🤣
watching this feels like dude just changed the production game for good.

I love how technical the process is but super simplified by the randomization button. Dope AF VR!!!
The GOAT of ableton
This guy would make gold on accident
You are a genius, an artist, and an engineer.
VR making every Logic user question our existence 😂 this is sick
This is one of the coolest things ive ever seen
Exciting!! Keep the vids coming, VR!!! You Rock!
This channel has been killing it lately, really amazing inspiring stuff! Thank you
Good Guy VR sharing his racks for free with us.
As always. No Gumroad or Patreon.
DANKESCHÖN!!!
I'd love to know more about the FM hi-hats! As a psytrance producer most of these racks are pretty useless for me as psy drums are fairly different from this, but making hats with FM sounds very interesting!
These videos have been lifechanging, please keep them coming!!
This is a baby sensory video for producers oh my god. You are insane VR.
Haha watch out for the next video 😅 it’s gonna be exactly that
all these recent uploads lately have been making me happy!
I don't release music yet but i have a passion for Ableton processes and this tickles my fantasy.

BRO, I LITERALLY JUST WOKE UP AND YOU'RE BACK WITH ANOTHER ONE?!!?
good to see you back on the content wave with stuff that is super useful to us producers!

Galaxy brain racks here. Thanks for sharing the snare one man. Big ups.
Here's a fun trick: Stack a ton of instances of the legacy Ableton Chorus and map each same parameter to the same macro knob
this shit is awesome dude keep it up, you can get really big someday
Bro, he is already is "really big" in his genre
... he has literally worked with Justin Bieber! dont you think hes big already?
bro leave some unexplored territory for the rest of us sheesh
big ups, amazing stuff dude
That Trap Kick Generator sounds so damn cool👀
I hope a lot of VSTs starts adding the random feature, it's so cool, I miss that from Massive in Serum
This is incredible. Never seen anyone use a daw like this.
This is sick! So impressed
oh the Discord Dark skin!
Siiiick Time to use another genius VR tutorial in my tunes
When VR finds out how to use max/msp, it's all over.
The hi hat generator sounds like the one in Reason. Well done!

the only thing VR can't randomize is my excitement
