    Rishi increased taxes on the workers, reduced them on the super wealthy. Rishi is worth £700 million. Why would a man worth £700 million want such a busy job that pays 200k? What's really in it for him? Could it be writing tax laws that protect people like him while taxing most people more?
    Why is his wife offering to pay millions so long as there isn't an investigation into their taxes?

      It is none of my affair given my location - not being far from where Alcock & Browne reigned over the bogs - but shouldn't at least one of these mouldy metal body-frames be taken from the Tower and deployed one last time?.....and not for JRM ....(we the Catholics have suffered enough under ye over there) but the one with the 700,000,000 reasons.

      Credit where credit is due, his wife's father is the rich one she simply has shares in Dad's company. Also when Rishi worked for Goldmans( at the heart of so many things that wrong on this world imo) he secured non Dom status for years which avoided UK tax liability as did Sajid Jarvis at Deutsche Bank.

    Sunak vote for me: I am a non loyal back stabber, who avoids paying taxes unless scrutinised, that will inevitably give my wife’s family special deals once I am in office! On the positive I haven’t groped anyone to date and I brush my hair.

    i think its a slap in the face of british democracy for sunak to even annouce he is going to run when he was a terrible chancellor that looked after the rich and hit the poor. His non dom tax dodging wife would benefit massively from him being pm though

      I wouldn't call his inaction during the "herd immunity" days of 2020s a petty media story. Some people would also take issue with his "oven ready" Brexit deal that on one hand they boast is done, but on the other hand they say they need to unilaterally break a treaty over. There's also the lying to parliament?
      So there are a few reasons for well informed people to dislike him.

      Funnily enough, it probably is going into the accounts of the NHS, but they aren't allowed to touch it. It is on it's way straight back out again to many of the American owned private medical practices that have sprung up in recent years, taking over some of the work the NHS is also doing, but charging more for it, so those companies can make a profit. One such company recently went bankrupt, having set up multiple companies to launder the money, and promptly disappeared, I kid you not.

      Cutting taxation in general helps the economy. Public spending reduce deficit and allows the money to flow more naturally in the country because of the private sector or allow the government to better allocate the money to areas that are better for the country.

    I dont know why the people close to the epicentre of this disaster think they should be the next prime minister. Those were the people who kept Boris in longer than he should have done knowing in themselves he wasnt fit to run the country but they ignored their own instinct.     The inability of the those in government (those whom specifically came from the financial service sector like and not limited too JRM or SJ) to separate what makes and keeps the finance service sector senior employees rich versus the macro economics of actually building a healthier more caring society, for the long term, is never more evident to me than when a right wing (look at Hansard on how JRM votes on humanitarian issues, its horrific) talks about "fiscal policy" and "keeping public sector costs under control" as that is (imo) why we are in the cyclical mess we are in. Keep the financial service sector ex employees, lobbyists etc out of our governments (all parties).

      @@healthiswealth6797 the problem is that UK has neve been a national state as it event directly from an imperial country to EU directly. EU was created by former imperial nations as well. So when UK say "go back" there are nothing to go back to and UK has to define what the nation should be. This is particularly difficult as the union was split over Brexit. So i can only wish UK good luck to find their new role and honestly they can not blaim anyone else as they have "taken back control", are suvereign (as they were in EU) and relying on a thinking that everyone need Britain more than Britain needs EU. God luck. Let us see in 10 years what the results are. I hope UK succeed with their plans and hope it's not just rhetoric and half truths...

    Whatever people think about Jacob Rees-Mogg, he never reacts to histrionics from the likes Guru Murthy a Leftist from Channel 4 News who has no liking for the Conservatives who see Channel 4 News as what it is and could probably see him out of a job. ( alongside Jon Snow and the odious Cathy Newman ) I personally wish there were more MP's like Mogg and not for his reputed old fashioned outlook but because he never gets personal and puts his points across clearly and precise. You can never see him resorting to the Fish Wife, foul mouthed rantings of Angela Raynor or the Racist comments from David Lammy about his fellow Parliamentarians !
