The fact that faith healers are in churches as opposed to hospitals, tells you everything that you need to know.
That's the thing about faith healing. If it could be shown to work, even a little bit, hospitals would be among the first to adopt it. They might say well, it's a miracle from God, you can't test it by scientific means. Well, maybe we can't use science to tell HOW it works, but we can sure use it to tell IF it works. And if it worked, I can guarantee having a faith healer on site healing people would, even if they paid that faith healer a substantial salary, be something virtually any hospital would do. Just show that it actually works. Even a little (good studies can make out even small signals, as long as they are real and consistent).
Especially since most hospitals have a religious affiliation.
Very good point
That's very well put.

My parents were all in on this brand of "ministry". Once, at 2:00am, the phone rang. My dad answered it and it was Robert Tilton ministries calling their "most trusted supporters". There was a ministry emergency and they were calling for donations in the middle of the night. I asked my dad, "what did you say?" He said, "Well, I guess you better do what you preach and trust God." With that, dad hung up on them. I was so proud of dad.

The fact that these guys are multi millionaires is horrendous. I like Lenny Bruce's take on preachers
"Anyone who has two shirts when someone has none is not a Christian."
"Never trust a preacher with more than two suits."
and the longer version
"I knew in my heart by pure logic that any man who calls himself a religious leader and owns more than one suit is a hustler so long as there is someone in the world who has no suit at all."
Or, you know, as the man god they claim to follow said himself: Sooner a camel will pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man will enter heaven.
Their earnings are also tax exempt which infuriates me. They need to change the law and start making these mega churches pay taxes. The absolute greed is incredible with these people. They are so evil!

@@CharleneOrtizTraining The existence of these faith healers and mega-church "pastors" are a reason I don't believe in a benevolent, loving god. This god is apparently ok with exploiting the needy and vulnerable. There needs to be some serious smiting happening.
I partially disagree in that I understand the need for more than one suit if you're wearing them constantly for work and need to send one to the dry cleaners. What I don't understand is why pastors need to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a suit while people in their own congregations are struggling to pay their utility bills (especially while hypocritically pretending to follow the message of Jesus who preached against greed and the love of money)!

It's not your fault @MattFrazier. You said you were raised in an ultra-Christian family. Religious indoctrination starts very early. Don't feel embarrassed or ashamed. For many of us it's drilled into our heads from infancy. Instead of feeling ashamed feel empowered that you were able to educate yourself and make a choice to abandon your religious beliefs . I was also raised very religious and I was a very devout Christian for the majority of my life. It gives people like us an advantage when trying to help someone understand why what they believe is based on lies and corruption and greed. I don't judge anyone that lives their lives as a Christian as long as they don't try to shove their beliefs down anyone's throat. I know a lot of people that are devout Christians and they are sincerely kind and compassionate people that really want to help people and they don't aggressively preach their beliefs to other people. It's just not a way of life that I chose to live anymore and because of it I feel free from the guilt and fear of going to hell. Just be a kind person and treat others with compassion and respect because it's the right thing to do, not because you're afraid to go to hell if you don't.
“Miracles” are just statistical odds. They’re not counting all the times death/ injury/illness/misfortune won.

Even as a disabled child I've thankfully never fell for faith healers, it always seemed like bs and that something didn't add up with the most basic questioning, like why does god require a monetary fee and why heal some and not others and not specific things like growing back limbs.
I used to take a client to church that I worked for at a group home, she liked going for the socialization. I was very apprehensive the first Sunday, since I knew how much church people are weird around disabled folks. The people surprisingly treated her pretty equal, I am not religious as an adult but I did appreciate them. Most other churches would've tried to lay hands on her. 🙄
If faith healing was real and it’s somehow due to “the power of the Holy Spirit”. They could raise people from the dead. As Jesus is said to do in the gospels.

It's nuts! They do the same thing with mental health issues. The even greater tragedy is that these guys are the fairly incompetent scammers of the same ilk of charlatans. The medical cartel is way more successful in duping most of the world into their quackery. Back in "ancient" times they were called "Therapeutae" or priest-doctors, a word we need to revive in modern times...because they get you to ping-pong back and forth between the two groups forever seeking miracle cures until they've extracted all they can from you. Most people think doctors follow the scientific method (a laughable claim) when the truth is they are just a bunch of pill-pushing, salesmen for the pharmaceutical cartel. None of their medications are studied scientifically, no rational criteria is ever used, no controls, meaningless and arbitrary surrogate markers are employed,...its ludicrous. It's sad that people still fall for these charlatans. They have existed before Christ. Jesus and his disciples called the fakes out then. I guess people are so desperate they don't see that God gave us Doctors and medicine as well as our faith.
How does that not apply to atheists?
Back in 1994 in Arkansas, as a young adult, I felt this urge to go & get prayer. Not knowing that it was God answering a question I had asked Him as a child.
When I sat & heard the preacher ask: "anybody needs prayer?" I & the rest of the people got in line.
Then I saw, for the first time in my life, to see him put his hands on their foreheads & pushed them back & they fainted.
They fainted & I said to myself: "I ain't finna do that" & then my turn & he went to put his hands on my head & jumped back & glanced over my head & said: "woooh, I see bullets flying over your head" & then he pointed me in my chest & said again: "But God wants me to tell you, that He is going to shield those bullets from you".
Then he started praying for me & pushed my head back. And like I had said to myself, I said "thank you" & walked out. I glanced back to see him looking sad.
Something that still concerns me today is, did God tell him something more? Months later, it happened the way that preacher said it would, except for my disobedience to God's instructions: "TURN NOW!" & spoke & then turn & got shot in my back with a 20 gauge shotgun.
Did He shield them? Yep, because there was more than 1 hole in my coat but only 1 hole in my back. 1 single hole & no scars.
So, yes He did shield those bullets, but it was 20 so years later when an Angel or The Holy Spirit told me, as I was waking up: "The Right Vertebrae Is The Miracle Of The Lord's.
Then I took a picture to find a hole in my backbone from that shooting. I never saw it until I took that photo & studied it.
How can it be a hole mark on a bone when I have never had a broken bone in my life? Never.
So, not only did God shield bullets from me, He continues to shield bullets & all kinds of evil from me today.
Why? Because of what He offered me, as a child, to do when I got older. I'm older & I can feel it coming to pass soon.
Truthfully, most of them are fake, but not all of them are. Like that preacher in Arkansas? That dude is not a fake.
Now, as far as healing, I am not sure if he can heal, but I know I can. How do I know that?
An Angel or the Holy Spirit told me to put my hands on this girl who was having a medical emergency & when I did, she stopped shaking.
However, I don't want people to know & I won't be doing "shows" around it. More likely in secret.
The Bible also tells us on the day of Judgment those who said that they healed people in His name & He turn from them. I use to fear that was me, but then I saw this & it hit me, that they are a lot of them out there doing this mess, in His name.
I'm an entrepreneur & not a preacher, my mission is in using capitalism to do socialism. Let God take care of us.
I won't condemn you for your page, just know God is not to mock, so mock them & not Him. I am not trying to fight His battles, but just know God is real & He is watching us.
Stories of God? I got a lot of those. I have seen things you people wouldn't believe. Most of you would probably fall into fear because you've spent so much time mocking God.

I went to a evangelical christian school when I was young. We had one of these "faith healer" guys come and preach once. He did the lay hands on the heads of all the kids in the front row. I was one of the ones up front. I had been faithful up until 10 or 11 years old but started critically thinking around this time that maybe all this wasn't true. When he came to me, he put his hand on my head and pushed me pretty hard, yet I stood firm and nothing happened like falling down like the rest of the kids were doing. He kind of just gave me a look and I think said something (probably inappropriate to say to a kid, like the power of satan was strong in me) and moved on to the next gullible kid.

As a child my mother was diagnosed with bipolar disease when I was about 5 years old. The effects of the disease and the medication basically took my mother away, and she was hospitalized constantly. I had become a born again Christian when I was 13, I went to church by myself and did EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING I could to heal my mother. Sacrifices, prayers, money of course, anything I could. She has never improved, only gotten worse over the years. I wish I had visited a therapist to help me cope with her disease in a healthy way instead of funding charlatans and misunderstanding my poor mother.
Im sorry to hear about your mother. Im glad you got out of that shit though. good for you
Please be kind to youself. You did what YOU needed to do, at the time, to allow you to process and deal with your Mother's illness. You were very young, and you needed something to lean on that would help you through such a terrible time and I'm sure you found love and support from some very genuine members of the congregation. There are fakes and fraudsters in every profession and that includes the church, and they would not exist if we all saw them for what they were straight away.
So you have learned that nothing can change the progression of your Mother's illness. And, trust me, there are others out there who are only just learning the same thing at a very late time in their lives who never had that faith. They just hoped for a miracle that never came. It is a perfectly natural thing for people to try ANYTHING, and to go to great lengths to change the inevitable outcome for a loved one, with and without faith.
I somehow believed that I could change the outcome of my Mom's cancer if I stayed with her, night and day, 24/7, for over 3 months at the hospital, and did all the personal care myself because, with 60 years of nursing the dying, my Mom had taught me how to care with love and true devotion. In that time I DID manage to get rid of her bed sores that the nurses couldn't, I DID manage to prevent any further UTI's because I had the time to change her bedding immediately and clean her thoroughly, I DID manage to get rid of her severe lymphedema in both legs and all of this amazed the doctors and nurses. I DID manage to get her fit enough to come home, which again, they said would never be possible. But when she got home, all she wanted was to sit in her favourite chair, so we did that. The next day she died. Now I'm not saying that to try and say how great I was, it was purely the result of 24/7, one to one, dedicated care that did the work, I'm saying it to show you that I became OBSESSED with the idea that I was not going to lose my Mom if I did everything just perfectly, and how one triumph spurred me on in my belief to the next.
Of course I see now that it was crazy, but it was what I needed in order to give me enough hope to process what was to come without falling into an abyss of sadness and depression (which would have taken me away from my beloved Mother), and then face what was inevitable, thus allowing me to understand and accept that we are just mere mortals, and we cannot control what nature (or the Lord) has in store for us.
So you see, you must not think you did anything wrong, or silly, or misguided. You did what you needed to do for you and that is that. The fact that people took your hard earned money says more about them than it does about you and SHAME ON THEM for doing so.
Now you must learn to forgive yourself and remember that those actions came from a most honourable child with a great and very deep love in their heart for their Mother. What more could anyone ask of you. How envious some Mothers might be in hearing such heart driven dedication from a child.
You are amazing, you are unique, your faith has taken you on a path of learning, and that's what faith is all about. I send you my love and good wishes for your journey of acceptance and enlightenment.
Please don't blame yourself. You are very good son/daughter to your mother. You love her enough to try everything
I’m sorry to hear that, but God said in his word obedience is better then sacrifice? God doesnt want our offerings before our heart, and it’s really hard and I struggle with it as well, I feel your pain with this one sister/brother, but we just have to trust God and ask his Holy Spirit to guide us, he’s not always going to heal.

I have a great story about Benny Hinn, as when he first started on Toronto, my mother and aunt were among the first to start helping him. I can't even guess how much info I have from their diaries, and her records as working as a counselor (she had no experience). I was told at 11 she had cancer. Over the next 9 years she got heavily involved in faith healings. Eventually in the end, they were all by her side asking for donations, but when she went into a coma they were nowhere to be found. I can't even begin to express how this effected my life. I was never the same.
Surely these people were not of God and surely believe that God will take care of them. But you cannot lose the faith of God. You have to believe that it's in God's hands now and you can only forgive these people. If you don't Benny Hinn will have a part of your heart and mind always remembering and never letting the past go. Being aware and living in the present moment will set you free from Benny Hinn. He is surely to fall and fail. Your experience was a lesson. And all the stuff your holding on too like the diaries and stuff . Do you really need those things that bring thoughts of pain. Everytime you see them how do they make you feel? Faith comes from hearing the word of God, not of people. So spend your time in the word of God, that he may provide you with discernment and wisdom for the days of your life.
“Man dada basata I DONT MAKE THESE STUFF UP!!!!!!😂😂😂
Thank you for your hard work exposing these frauds
as someone who grew up in a christian cult I will never go back to religion again. no church should be exempt from taxes either imo. the amount of abuse that still goes on today is sad.
You know that's Satan who has caused you to be angry at God but this isn't his fault. Satan came but for to Kill, Steal and Destroy and he's destroyed your faith and will rob your soul to Hell if you stay on the path you're on right now.
These men are all false teachers and Jesus told us to be aware of them.
Agree about tax exemption. And going back to religion. Grew up in a Catholic family. Then recently started reading about Buddhism, from a philosophical level, but then started to read about and thought should I follow the religious side. Thankfully I have recently pulled out, I have seen the other side. Buddhism is no different than the other religions, love their palaces too!
When you boil it down, religions offer a very enticing product - a guarantee of some form of higher existence. But you must have sufficient 'faith' or your religious and spiritual practice will come to nothing, or in other words you must be sufficiently brainwashed. Those two together guarantee the success of religion and that religions won't go away any time soon.
Umm separation of Church and State
God would deny their healing, but he's too busy saving starving children in Africa. 🇦🇺 😊
