    At this price point all these big brand headphones sound great, please value your money and time and mental peace and get the Sennheiser HD600/650/660s/660s2 models. Time tested build, 2 year warranty and great customer service in India. They're built to last and you may be able to use them for 10+ years, replacement pads and other parts are also easily available. It's a no brainer.

      Well, that's certainly one perspective! However, let's not forget that sound quality is what truly matters in the end. Each headphone has its own unique sonic character, and what sounds great to one person might not be the perfect fit for someone else. So, while Sennheiser HD600/650/660s/660s2 models are indeed solid choices, there's a whole world of sound out there waiting to be explored!

    Hey Headphone Zone, I'm really confused between the 7Hz Salnotes Zero (Type-C with mic) and the Moondrop Chu II DSP (Type-C with mic). As a beginner audiophile, what should I go for? Please help me out picking one.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  3 месяца назад +2

      If you prefer something with a bit of bass and a balanced sound signature, you should check out the Moondrop Chu 2 DSP and in case you prefer something with a balanced sound signature, you should check out the 7Hz Salnotes Zero Type C variant.

    What do you recommend for the next step up after Sundara if I don't buy Hifiman? If I want even more detailed bass and sub-bass and natural vocals? It's been years since I've bought a new headphone.

      Meze 109 Pro, LCDX, and Arya Stealth. My choice would be the Arya Stealth.

    Why choose the Sundara?
    The Edition XS is the one that matched the other two in terms of price..

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  3 месяца назад

      The reason for choosing the Sundara is simple: it's closely tuned to the MM100. While the Edition XS may have a similar price point, the Sundara offers a unique tuning that complements the characteristics of the other two headphones.

    Do you reccomment more hifiman xs edition or sennheiser hd 660s2 and why?

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  3 месяца назад

      The choice between the HiFiMAN XS Edition and the Sennheiser HD 660S2 depends on your intended use. If you're seeking headphones for professional applications where accuracy and detail are crucial, the Sennheiser would be a solid choice due to its renowned sound quality and reliability. On the other hand, if your priority is enjoying music with a focus on rich, immersive sound, the HiFiMAN could be more suitable, offering a distinct sonic signature that's favoured by many audiophiles. Ultimately, it boils down to your specific preferences and requirements.

    I’m finding the Sundara is pretty harsh in the high-end for my tastes. The funny part about that is I’m in love with Grado headphones! I think the Sundara are very detailed and clean in the middle and just completely lacking in bass thickness. it has the base and it’s there and it sounds punchy and deep but even as someone who’s not a really a bass head it’s just a bit wimpy
    It’s such a strange thing because I find my Grados much warmer and much more detailed and certain aspects but the Sundas definitely have a ton of clarity.
    Unlike you, I find the hi-fi man soundstage pretty much stuck in the head. I don’t really get much extension outside the head at all. I in fact, I find it a bit odd of a sound as it’s very much left and right and not a whole lot of center. All the sounds either sound like they’re coming from this hollow sphere in my brain or dead square in front of my left or right ear. I’m not getting really good stereo placement with them. On the other hand, the Grado 250x headphones sound like they are extending about 2 feet beyond the headphones and my head. Very, very spacious and sometimes kind of spooky because it sounds like something in the room with me a few feet away
    They are also really power-hungry. On my fiio k11 on high gain, I have to push the volume around 80% which is really unacceptable
    However, on the topping dx3pro+ there is plenty of power, even in medium gain to crank these bad boys. The topping is definitely the preferable amp, because it seems to have cleaner power the fiio sounds a bit clippy.
    I just ordered the MM 100 to do a side-by-side with those for a week or two. From what I’m hearing I should be pretty happy, except for again of weakness in the bass.

      Thanks for sharing your experience with the HiFiMan Sundara. It's fascinating how two people can have such varied experiences with the same headphones - that's the beauty of this hobby, isn't it? We appreciate your detailed insights into the sound characteristics and power requirements of the Sundara. It's interesting to hear your comparison with Grado headphones as well. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the MM100 once you've had a chance to try them out!
