When dropping bird turn burner off, once submerged turn back on. When removing it turn it off as well first. That alone cuts the risk down a lot.

Yes that would be helpful and I mention that at the end of my video. We’ve never needed to do that if you measure your oil correctly. But you are right that would be an extra safe step. Thanks for watching.

Please don't hate me but confession first - having never had the opportunity to bag my own gobbler, I have never understood the obsession with this bird but man, deep frying a whole turkey, that was epic! Perhaps I will try that some time with one it's lesser relations. Hope you have a great and blessed Thanksgiving!!

No worries. You need to try it sometime. Frying them traps the juices in and believe it or not it’s not greasy at all. Happy thanksgiving my friend!

No we normally don’t but you sure can. It’s most important that you get all the flavor on the inside. Thanks for watching Alberto! Happy thanksgiving.

    A few safety tips:
Keep the "know it all" Cousin, Aunt or Uncle away from the fryer.
The dog's leash should not be able to reach the fryer and/or wrap around it.
Keep the younger kids away from the fryer, whether you have them on a leash or not.
Don't have the family football/soccer game going on the same time you are frying (unless you have a very big yard).
Don't try and cool the fryer down, if it still has hot oil in it, with the garden hose.
Don't tell the family idiot to stick their finger in the oil to check the temperature.
Know what size bird your pot can handle.
Don't let your moocher sister or brother in law convince you to get a bigger bird than you should.
Don't use the fryer in the shower or bathroom or outside when it is raining or snowing.
About 1600 fires happened on Thanksgiving day in 2018 because of improper and unsafe frying.
I hope everyone had a Happy and memorable Thanksgiving.

Flame on while dropping the bird?? NO!

    • @HorsePenRanch
      @HorsePenRanch  2 года назад

If it’s measured properly it’s no big deal. But I’ve done it 100 times and NEVER had and issue with the flame on. If you haven’t done it before you may wanna turn the flame off.
