I totally agree! There are more excellent examples, such as "You never can tell" (from the concert in Leipzig), "Pay me my money down", "My hometown"
and "If I should fall behind"

To put this into perspective for you... I was there that day and bear in mind he played promised land...born to run....racing in the street....jungleland.....all of which were best live things I've ever seen...jungleland in particular was just as it was getting dark and people around me were crying with emotion at the end of jungleland....for me though this hit different...never have I ever felt a song hit soo hard..this is THE BEST live performance of a song I have ever seen by anyone by a country mile....untouchable...unrivaled....Best ever.
I was there too,at the front. This was the highlight for me. Nobody comes close to Bruce as a live act.
And there's a common experience, of many, who attend and/or listen to/witness(ed) a Springsteen and E-Street Band live concert ! 🎂 Happy Birthday Bruce ! 9/23/22🙏
Do any of you object? Seen him 5 or 6 times - the best band on the planet day in day out - every single performance is a masterclass in live music - just absolutely never ever ever gives a dud performance - I have 27 musicians in my list of top five of all time (I know) but he is always number awesomely number 1

"Can you hear me?". I was there in the front row.... and it was an unforgettable set list... Outlaw Pete, Born to Run... Trapped... Rosalita... No surrender... Born to run, Racing in the street, Jungleland, Promised land. It was an emotional roller coaster and was as good as his longest concert I was front row at in Philly in 2016. Something else!

Best Performance ever.
I've seen Bruce many times, in the 70's, the 80's and the 90's. This is a truly powerful performance, as great as any I've heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watch this every morning.
This concert has to be one of the top 10 greatest concerts he's ever held. This song was relatively new when he played it here and the crowd knew the lyrics already. Just goes to show how amazing Bruce is. His songs catch on instantly. This song is incredibly well written and in typical Boss fashion, packed with emotion and energy. This man will never get old.
Agreed, my fave versions of this, Johnny 99, Promised Land, Badlands and Rosalita are from this show.

I was there and loved it and I love watching it over and over. He had lost a big chunk of his voice from doing Glastonbury the night before.....despite that, I have the biggest smile on my watching this show..the intro to the band on working on a dream ...Jonny 99 blows me away..always
Even though I didn't follow Mr. Springsteen in my younger years. I can still sing along to some of his most memorable hits. I wish now that I'm older I could have been much more open minded. And could appreciate the maturity that music also shares. I might have been a better man. Thank you Sir.
Saw him play just over 3 hours set at Glastonbury the night before he played this gig in Hyde Park. Scooter and the Big Man definitely bust the city in half - - - - Unbelievable.
I was at this show it was amazing Springsteen's performance some magic came along with the songs the crowd sang and danced like wolves in a field running in search of something up ahead and I flew in the songs man I've never seen anything like this and Bruce's show just Bruce Springsteen, Alvaro Pires Essex 2022
I saw The Boss live twice. It’s pure Rock ‘n Roll magic, more than three ours of energizing power. You always get out of of a Springsteen concert with a deeply felt emotional satisfaction.
I've also seen Bruce live twice. Anyone who says he sucks is an idiot! They may not be fans but he is undeniably talented!
I think it was an actor on the tonite show that said he saw a Springsteen show. He said it. Changed his life

Does anyone else hear this song (and I mean this in a good way) as the old west version of Jungleland? Both epics, both similar in length, both have the spoken-word wrap-up just before the end...? One of my favorites! In anyone else's hands this would be a novelty song at best, but with Bruce's conviction, well, let's just say... I'm a believer. A masterpiece!

It's amazing how much effort he puts into every song. Outlaw Pete is hardly the pinnacle of his songwriting career but he's there with every line he sings. This is why he's the best.
Bruce is best LIVE !!! Until you have seen one of his shows LIVE you won't understand the man. He is our National Treasure. He is America's poet.
If a thousand other artists recorded this, it would probably be one of their signature songs, but for Bruce it's just album filler that was played on one tour. That speaks volumes.

Pop music is derivative and occasionally different artists use the same runs or progressions. Springsteen knows this, as do the members of KISS. Complete non-issue.

Too many people don't acknowledge the amazing story, as well as the music. Read the lyrics and you'll see what I mean.
Like in the chorus. It evolves, Outlaw Pete showing who he is, then the Dan person telling Pete that he has actually done that stuff and cannot I do it. Finally, someone calling for him. The lyrics are genius.

I saw Bruce Springsteen 4 times and I still am amazed how he is so damn good. That every person is being a part of the show. Bruce and the E, STREET BAND are the only ones that you will see that right there. Everyone with their hands up in the air going back and forth to the music. It's just incredible that he gets all those people to do that. Got to be one of the greatest. THE WHO IS MOST LIKELY THE GREATEST ROCK BAND EVER.
I saw him here in Oklahoma in February. Only my second time and I hope I get another chance! He was phenomenal!

Now I have seen THE WHO 5 TIME'S AND MY EARS ARE STILL RINGING AND I love it. And since I seen them both a number of times. I got to say that THE WHO is the greatest rock band ever. But Bruce Springsteen is right there with the who. I just wish I didn't pick a girl over going to see THE WHO in 1974 in Washington DC row 5 on the floor. I really made the wrong choice cause I never got to see the greatest drummer ever ever Keith Moon. So I did see THE WHO 5 TIME'S but it was without the greatest drummer of all time. And I made kinda the same mistake with seeing Bruce Springsteen is the 70s. 2 times a really good buddy of mine asked me to go see Bruce Springsteen at the Philadelphia spectrum. And of course I picked a girl again. As you can tell Donna I am still kicking myself in my ASS. Am waiting and I am hoping for someone to find out how to make a time machine. And I am going back to the 60s and the 70s so I can fix a couple of things. Like going to see THE WHO AND BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ON THOSE NIGHTS I SHOULD HAVE GONE. AND I ENDED UP GETTING MARRIED TO A PIG 🐷🐷🐷. I PICKED THE WRONG GIRL TO GET MARRIED TO FUCKIN THE GUYS I WAS WORKING WITH. I REALLY DO NEED A TIME MACHINE TO FIX A FEW THINGS.

Although I'm an enormous fan, I didn't get Outlaw Pete, even with repeated listenings. Then I saw him do it live in Atlanta. Whoa. What a difference. If there is anyone who can take an ordinary song on a record and turn it into a masterpiece live it's Bruce Springsteen. IMO, he's the best live performer since the invention of amplification. And one of the top three or four songwriters. I hope we have him for a good while longer, but when he's gone it'll be a 100 years before there's another Bruce Springsteen, if ever.

I saw 4 concerts from the Boss in the 80 the 90 the 00 and now last year in landgraaf and this year a go to nymegen he is already more then 40 years the best liver preformer. I feel like the audience doesn't know the song that well and you can see the transformation as the song goes on. By the end, the entire audience is in the palm of his hand, completely engaged. Incredible performance.
