    Thank you so much for your tips, I really appreciate them!! I especially like today's tip for making sorbet, I live in my RV and the freezer is too small for a carton of sorbet or ice cream. Your tip for scooping out a melon and freezing makes just the perfect size for me to have a frozen treat! 🤗 ♥️
    Being in a wheelchair, I have a couple of 'life hacks" that might help others. If you have difficulty sweeping the floor, I bought a child's play broom and dustpan, they are a much better size and not so awkward to use. Also, if you drop something on the floor and have a hard time reaching it to pick it up, I use a pair of silicone tongs just for this purpose, it grabs the item and makes it so much easier to pick up!! 😇🤗 ♥️

    • @screamtoasigh9984

      Here's how I make sorbet and ready to eat right away - frozen fruit (whatever you like), I use frozen wild blueberries- Wyman's in the US; dragon fruit pieces, and pitted sweet cherries (the latter two are both available at costco or supermarket, if you on the East Coast Netcost has a lot of interesting frozen fruits (and juices) to try. Or frozen peaches on their own. Make sure they are all frozen pieces (like bags at the store or chop and freeze yourself, the only rule is NOTHING seeded (because those seeds get stuck in your sorbet and it's a pain to strain them)... Buy whatever juice you like - I use pomegranate or cranberry ...or apricot (if I make peaches only). Sometimes I do half full juice and half like diet fruit juice or cranberry ginger ale, etc...
      Put the fruit in an electric chopper or mixer. Add 1/3 juice/liquid (so if you have the fruit filled to 3 cups, add one cup of liquid...). Blend!
      If it doesn't have enough liquid sometimes instead of adding more juice I'll take a quarter/half cup of extra fruit and microwave it so it's defrosted (but not hot) ... Then add the defrosted fruit to the mixer and MIX for a minute.... Now taste..is it sweet enough for you? Add a little salt if you can have salt, add 1/4 or1/8 tsp of vanilla or maple syrup or cinnamon or cardamom, etc). Press chop!
      (I find peaches frozen needs more sweetener than the rest, I normally add some coconut sugar or brown sugar , lemon squeeze would probably taste great, I can't have citrus so I don't know but If I still could I'd experiment with that).
      Anyway, that's it. Frozen fruit, juice or liquid of your choice and whatever flavor you like. It's ready right away. I've made it in a ninja mixer thing and even in one of those cheap casino mixer giveaways. It doesn't work as well in a regular blender (I've even tried to do it in my parents' fancy bar drink blender, but it can't get to the sorbet state, I can say I have used the blender and added stuff to make frozen cocktails by adding the sorbet ingredients plus flavored vodka, etc.)
      Sometimes right before I finish chopping I add a handful of dark chocolate chips (soo good), and I've also made it into layers in a round Tupperware style like deep pie plate/bowl put whipped cream, froze it (so I could add another layer, if you are just making sorbet this isn't necessary), did another layer on top, added whipped cream froze it and then had it as dessert with guests who finished it and then asked where I bought it.
      Sorry this is so long.
      If you need help reaching the floor get a claw grabber, they are fantastic. We used to have one growing up from my step grandfather and I used it all the time to retrieve cat balls under the couch and grab stuff from the too tall bhigh cabinets.. (I still need it for that 😔, I've been using BBQ tongs and I keep on dropping paper towels on my head. If you can afford it(they are about $10-13), you'll find the claw so so much easier and much longer. (It's just called a claw grabber, they come from 3-10 feet! some even have lights on the end, the ones that telescope so you could stow it in your chair go for $20-30).
      I hope this is helpful.

    • @screamtoasigh9984
      @screamtoasigh9984 9 месяцев назад

      (If you don't have a chopper I honestly mostly use the casino giveaway one by chefman or the ninja food processor, , you don't need anything fancy, it is perfect for an RV size wise, just be sure you get /have one that you can press it from your chair, because some have a top button and they don't work unless you hold it down the whole time).

      I'm short. I use my silicone tongs to reach a lot of stuff. Just moved into a brand new house. For frothing milk for hot coffee I always heat the milk first (in the microwave). Then I froth it, either with an electronic mini whisk or using the coffee plunger method. That way I still get a hot coffee at the end, not a lukewarm one.

      As a side note, I have made them with corn flour and quail eggs and used cardamom instead of the regular flour, vanilla and chicken eggs. (I can't eat chicken egg whites but the rest was basically me experimenting with what I had on hand. and I liked it that way so much it's how I normally serve them now (the regular way is awesome so it's just a preference...). You can make them savoury too. It's a really adaptable recipe.... and I usually don't bother with a pan.... but use an air fryer - because it's less effort... either way.. enjoy! @@StellaFl

    I've always enjoyed your videos and editing is so cool! Other cooking channels show endless cutting of veggies and onions from like gazillion different angles; that really does get my goat! Anyway I digress... Amazing videos and amazing hacks. Thank you; especially for the orange ice cubes... how cool is that! Ta!

    You're a regular MacGyver with those hacks. Rubbing a can on a rough surface? Who'd have thunk it? But, the sorbet, the garlic press trick (especially after I bought a fancy shmancy garlic press), and both ice cube tricks (even though I don't drink wine [don't like it], they will liven up my Sodastream seltzer water), are all great tips I'll be using. Also, we need the recipe for the cheese pancakes.

    Celery juice goes great with melon . I have a small juicer and I put a bundle of celery through it and then my melon. This sorbet would taste good with a bit of celery juice in it too
