      What about rock and all psychedelic, not just lo-fi? Post rock does not really exist. Post, as used like this, means after. Rock and roll clearly is here forever. True freedom music in a true deep sense. Freeing the mind form the b.s. and cruelty of society, creating a better one. An ongoing process. So post rock will never happen.

    Very similar to the Fathom which I adore. A lot of the same tones. Kind of an update or sibling of the Fathom. I am not a big fan of modulation added to reverbs and delays in the same pedal. I'll add modulation pedals as needed, but this one seems a little cooler and Walrus has made this an integral part of the pedal. I just don't know. Right now I'm on the fence with the Slo. The Fathom is still a damned good ambient reverb.

    • @bobisadrummer
      @bobisadrummer 5 лет назад +2

      I'm more of a fan of the Slo than the Fathom. They both have modulation, but the Slo allows you to completely remove the modulation where as the Fathom only allows you to set the toggle to low.

    • @steverherb
      @steverherb 4 года назад

      @@bobisadrummer Agree, since the Fathom is the more "traditional" reverb of the two, you'd expect it to have a "modulation off" option. Kind of baffling move by Walrus.

    When you say wet, just means how much of pedal signal is mixed in with it. OK I am looking for reverb types to get it actually the wettest sounding, like drops of water, rain, etc. I heard this one instrumental song by this one band one time. It seemed to go further than anyone had before with sounding actually like water dripping. Can you recommend the best pedals that does that kind of tone? Post up if you know, thanks.

  • @wmartin103

    Alright, this feels like it could occupy a similar space as the Dark World. Having played both, which would be more likely to find itself on your pedalboard?

    • @MrSlothrop
      @MrSlothrop 4 года назад

      Both quite different. The Dark World can do subtle, and the tone of your guitar mostly shines through fairly organically. Slo is a fun ambient pedal, but every guitar sounds the same through it and there's noticable latency - it feels like a synthesiser pedal, especially on rise mode.

    Hmmm...four separate gear review channels...and they all are reviewing the same pedal within an hour of each other...
    This is making my aluminum foil hat vibrate.
    Hmmm....

      ravenslaves I’m sure there’s more than 4, walrus likes to do big releases.

      ravenslaves walrus gave us a coordinated launch time. It was all planned out dude. I had my demo filmed weeks ago, I was just waiting for the go ahead.

      Aha! Conspiracy confirmed!
      I always wondered how you guys did these things. It makes sense. Be the first to review a product, get more views. It was just weird to see my in box with four videos in a row reviewing the same product within the same hour.
      By the way, yours is the only one I watched because it was that thorough. Great review.
      (I'll leave on my foil hat though...Just in case.)

      ravenslaves most of the time a company will only hire a few demo channels at a time, but walrus likes to go big. At first I thought it was a bummer because it felt like I had less of a exclusive. But now I think it’s fun, it takes some of the pressure off.
