Nice in-depth demo. I also appreciate that you kept the tone clean - the next review I’ve queued up is by Pedal Partners and I know they’re going to go full-on fuzzed-out shoegaze … which is nice too, but variety is good.

I agree. I acknowledge their different concept and respect the hustle a lot, but I find everything sounds exactly the same on their videos, which feel more like video essays than straight-to-the-point reviews :(

Many stereo in/out pedals allow for reprocessing. That is, plug into one channel, and take its output as a feed to the input of the other channel. In correspondence with the programmer of the Line 6 Echo Park, I learned that its "stereo" implementation took a common input, processed it and then *distributed* two different versions to the two outputs. So whatever you set channel A to would also show up a bit at the B output. If I set the pedal to reverse delay, and the mix to all-wet, there would be reverse delay repeats at *both* outputs. Now, if I feed A's output to the B input, I'm re-reversing the repeats, which makes them forward, rather than reverse. BUT, the B output will now have both the re-reversed repeats PLUS the original reversed repeats that normally show up in the "other" channel. And if that wasn't enough, keep in mind that the B output will also find its way into the A mix, and back to the B input.
The end result is this engaging combination of forwards and backwards repeats at different delay times, mixed together. Not *quite* reverse-delay-plus-reverb, but darn close and worth a try, all for the price of a patch cord.

@@patrickr6505 I’m not anti-mono, I just believe that pedals marketed for ambient players should have an option for stereo. I did try a Slo before my stereo pedals a few years ago. I might have to give that a shot again because I love the sounds from the Slo pedal.

@@jasonhudson73 Oh if you do have the Slo yea just put a stereo reverb pedal with a Subtle setting after it. Just enough to enhance the sound..As I said I'm doing that with my Polymoon after the Lore and the difference is night and day..The Lore is magical..I get lost in it .. Program 4 with mix fully wet and the time and decay maxed out and your in huge Ambient Pad territory..it really is a sound to behold.Program 2 is my other favourite followed by Program 1..I actually haven't tried Program 5 yet and I've only dabbled in Program 3 briefly.. Cheap and overused....mainly used to cover lack of inspiration or technical ability. Just add an analogue octaver in the fx loop of an analogue delay , in fast settings with low mix and enough feedback just before self oscillation, you get the most descent shimmer effect ever..On a budget as well as you either have them in your arsenal or can buy them cheaply used

    • @johndrowe5281

I adore my Neunaber Shimmer - even its reverb without shimmer employed. Definitely not my only reverb, but it has a very unique, thick reverb if desired.. Shimmer, for me is a nuanced touch used sparingly but can really catch ears off-guard and pull the listener into a song in a special way - imvho.
