It's a brilliant album. I honestly think those folks hate synth which RUSH always used. They also can't get past the self titled album and Fly By Night or Caress Of Steel. They're contrary and stuck in the 70's blues metal period.
Not a hard rock album. Super 80s. Overwhelming synths drowning everything out. You slap that album on a buncha old school rush fans who still got off on heavy stuff like caress of steel and 2112, yeah, not what they were looking for.
This version of this song hits me like a train everytime. Beautiful expression of this universally connecting peice about the quiet desperation of every person's relationship with their dreams.
Ridiculously cool. All players have clearly done their homework. The tones are near perfect! The young lady can really sing. Thank you all for showing such respect!
Thanks David! It was a labor of love to research the the recording and tones used on the album and learn the tune. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
the sadness and hope of this song, the emotion is something that power windows (2nd side) just knocks out of the park, and when mystic rhythms finishes the full journey of that is something to behold. thanks for sharing guys
Agree totally Darrin. PW gets trashed by some earlier Rush fans and esp HYF but I’ve always liked both albums esp PW. Neils lyrics you could use to teach poetry he uses allusions twists of metaphors, imagery and tells stories and Alex and Geddy esp on this song the melancholy feel is beautiful I think. And Mystic Rhythms to me is one of those songs that makes you think about the wonder and mystery of the universe (multiverse?).
I wasn't crazy about the song Territories but other than that song, the second half of this album was criminally underrated. In my opinion some of Neil's best drumming was on this album
Thanks for checking it out! Geddy vocals are pretty unique so it's hard to adjust to other people's interpretation but Knoel really brought something special to the cover.

Looking for Rush videos, feeling a little nostalgic about Neil, and I ended up here. Beautiful cover from one of my favorite Rush songs. The musician’s band. Thank you for this!
I love the "Bass cam" on the neck of the bass. The Bass line just never stops. . . And the drummer is so economical with his sticks and still hitting all the notes. . . Beautiful to see. . .
Thanks so much! Bass cam is always a ton of fun and one of my favorite shots. It's not always the one that gets used but definitely has a special look I'd miss if I didn't use it. Even if it adds some weight to the bass!
When researching tones and stylistic choices for this song, it’s turns out most of Alex solos on the album were multiple takes cut and spliced by Geddy and Peter Collins. Really helps explain the bizarre phrasing.
Honestly, perhaps the best cover I have seen. All 5 artists performed their parts to perfection. Knoel and her vocals were amazing. Alex's guitar parts were inspirational. Joel on his keyboards demonstrated all parts clearly. Rockwel covered Neils part to the letter and finally Larry, first off, just love your Bongo. Your tone was spot on. 4:27 was awesome. I love this song. This for covering it and you just earned a new subscriber. Cheers.
Wow thank you so much! My bongo is my number one and really allows me to do what I do. The musicians we have gotten to play with have been amazing and we consider ourselves truly lucky to work with them. Thanks for subscribing. I quickly looked at your channel and it looks like you have some awesome stuff going on on yours. I'll have to dig in some more. Thanks again!
I agree it’s a “deep track” and when I say it and Time Stand Still are my favorite songs anyone but a true Rush fan looks at me “huh?” I think I really got into Neils lyrics with Subdivisons as a teen (“omg an adult gets it!”) and I know lot people listen to rock and don’t pay attention to lyrics but with Neils it’s truly poetry. I read at some point there was a school teacher using his lyrics in English (prob fired now) but he was a genius and this song has a melancholy Feel I love. If your a deep Rush geek check out the bootleg Alex’s son released to internet of this song not cleaned up - I love that version too - to me (and just my 1.5c) it sounds more “policeish” but still great and just like variations of a theme like a classical composer would do. You may not like not as polished but I do and while Power Windows kinda gets dumped on, and I think Geddy said in retro was a “transition” album it was my first foray into the band so holds special place. Enjoy reading comments from other deep Rush fans here and to you guys who did this awesome job so some more!
What a FANTASTIC cover! As top draw as Rush music is, and as good as it demands the musicians to be, the vocals are almost always make or break for me, and these vocals are just top draw. Not Geddy, not like the original song, but as smooth as aged scotch and with amazing tone. Top draw. Very, very good... Makes me want to dive into these lyrics and use this cover! No lie.
Thanks for watching and your kind words. Knoel did a great job getting the essence of the song and the feeling of Geddy without doing a straight impression. It blew us away.
@@daveyt4802 More important, they did it all LIVE with three people. But, this does not take away from what a great job Larry and his band did here - even if he did need two extra bass guitar strings to do it! :) :) :) ;)

@@smittybass - No worries! You guys did an excellent job. Hope to see Knoel do more Rush tracks in the near future. "Middletown Dreams" is one of my fave Rush tracks, so it was a treat :).
Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant
Totally amazing! So many covers of the hits, great to see the deeper cuts get som attention!
I need to HUG this Chick.......... Great job dudes, G'Day from Melbourne Australia
This is my favorite song off of Power Windows. You guys killed it.
Looking for Rush videos, feeling a little nostalgic about Neil, and I ended up here. Beautiful cover from one of my favorite Rush songs. The musician’s band. Thank you for this!
Wow! Fantastic job! This song is definitely in my top twenty all time favs. Well done.
You guys ripped it up pretty good and I love it I never knew young people would even bother with my own favorite songs
Brilliant job by all, but especially that voice! Wow!~Sebastian
This is INCREDIBLE!! Power Windows is my most FAVORITE Rush album! And this song ... and Territories are my most FAVORITE songs from this album!
Very nicely done
Love it....nailed it.
So many people have killed RUSH..... i hate covers
But this group is different Just love it.....
Please do more Rush covers! Vocals are spot on for singing Rush songs! Love this song and you guys did a great job!
Do Mystic Rhythms next!
Nice work.. especially those beginning breaks! They were on point!
Wow. Finally a rush cover I wanna hear. I love this song . It’s a deep cut . I’m so tired of the yyz and Tom Sawyer covers
Best Rush cover I have ever heard or at least a tie. Bravo! RIP NP.
Uh oh. Martell MVP did a RUSH cover better than this one. Afterimage ftw!
Top demais!!! Parabéns!! Adorei! Essa música é incrível! Muitíssimo bem tocado e cantado!
Excellent, excellent.
Damm. Pretty good!
This is really great, awesome, love it. Thanks and well done everyone, you bloody nailed it!
Guitarist did a great job on that guitar solo - its really quite a bizarre solo when you stand back and look at it !
When researching tones and stylistic choices for this song, it’s turns out most of Alex solos on the album were multiple takes cut and spliced by Geddy and Peter Collins. Really helps explain the bizarre phrasing.
@@ayarbrough209 oh wow thats a cool bit of trivia ! yes it makes sense of the strangeness of it
Honestly, perhaps the best cover I have seen.
Good job on one of my favourite Rush songs. Well done guys!
Crushed it. That was awesome.
The bass pedal effect is outstanding.
Just a wonderful tribute to a wonderful song. Thank you much.
Its not the tipical Rush cover. I love this song. Amazing.
Very well done.....I love the little known RUSH tunes.
Thanks! It's always fun to show some love to the deep cuts. Thanks for watching!
I read at some point there was a school teacher using his lyrics in English (prob fired now) but he was a genius and this song has a melancholy
Feel I love.
Liked it. It got better as the song went on. Great job
Thanks! Like the original, it really builds and hits all it's marks as the song goes on. We did our best to get that same vibe.
@@smittybass Quite honestly, one of the best interpretations of a Rush lyric I ever heard. A very, very smooth voice. :)
Rush did it with 3 band members. Really tell you how much talent RUSH had.
@@daveyt4802 More important, they did it all LIVE with three people. But, this does not take away from what a great job Larry and his band did here - even if he did need two extra bass guitar strings to do it! :) :) :) ;)
FYI: I did a reaction to these lyrics on my new channel. I used your cover 'cause I love the vocals so much. (I did a YYNot cover as well, as a sort of two part 'cover versions' day!) I tried to post a link but RUclips apparently hates that. So, I'm just saying - if you are interested, take a look. If no, as you were! ;)
Saw this played live during clock work angels tour in phoenix. The extras on the dvd of this was filmed that night, they didn't play in dallas. You all did a excellent job!
