I bought a ZRX 1200r in 2000. Watched them tear open the crate! I've always had a Z1900 or two, ( or a dozen), in my stable. My riding buddies all had Z1 or KZ as well, but we all got the ZRXs within a month of each other. I loved my bike! Had to sell most of my bikes due to a spinal injury, but kept my 75 Z1b 900. I'm still trying to find my old ZRX to buy it back. Don't care how many miles it has! If I ever get it back, I'll rebuild it better than new!!!
I bought mine brand new in 2008. The last of the Australian ones. It's still stock standard with 35,000 kilometres on it. May put a slip on exhaust on it soon just for the noise. I love it.
I just picked up a well maintained 1200 for $3,250. It had some minor upgrades. I will upgrade in the off season (not for the track but determined to get 140 hp or more with pretty simple work). Just as important as hp gains, my goal will be solid suspension upgrades. You can get a lot out of these bikes for $10k.. Happy motorin!
I`ve had 3 over the years and raced them all...I had the Dale Walker Electric shifter,a lockup clutch, stage 3 jet kit, and a 4" over swing arm. But never ever had any clutch basket problems with any of them. I only ran 3 springs (out of 6) in the lockup..I could pull the lever in with one finger. I ran my shifter in reverse(GP style, 1 up 4 down). One thing thats a must is running a flush style oil drain plug. The stock one always gets hit when the bike comes down from wheelies... Marks bike is beautifully set up.I`d invest in a lockup though, IMO...I ran one on every one I had...
That's cool you found this Paul! I was thinking of you! What do you think went wrong here? Thanks for the comment. Please subscribe and have a friend do the same!
Love the ZRX !! This by far is my favorite interview and bike profile I've seen on CycleDrag. I just looked at a zrx 1100 today for sale at $3,100 pretty clean with 23,000 miles. Debating between this and SV1000 Suzuki. Thanks for this awesome video.
Have a 2001 ZRX 1200R ELR Bone stock with 20000 on it.Always being asked if it's for sale.No and never will be.Best looking bike by far except maybe for a Tuono
I had an 2001 Black with silver and purple stripes. Used they are avg $3800-$4500 in fair conditions. Really clean, north of $5k. I had to sell mine due to Spinal Fusion surgery.
I hope you are feeling better, first of all. Secondly, what a great value these bikes are. Please subscribe and have a friend do the same. I'll keep it coming.
Just picked up a black 01 1200r with blue/violet and silver stripes. Only 11k miles for 4k. Well worth it! Love it after starting on a ninja 250 and then 2 zzr600s.

Ordering from trac dynamics is a nightmare. He gives you a date that he can’t keep and then doesn’t respond to phone calls, emails and doesn’t return calls leaving the purchaser wondering if they got ripped off. My experience.
My uncle had a zrx 1100 set up for drag racing it hauled ass and always thought it looked badass. The wheelie bars that where on it are now on my dads Harley Drag Bike. He let me ride it to high school one time and I'm pretty sure the black Mark I laid in the bus drop off area are still there. I felt like a badads doing wheelies and burn outs in front of the school. Haha with no MC license or car license in general
@@cycledrag man I'd be lying if i told you anything. I do remember it was screaming fast and surprisingly comfortable. But I was 16 and was more concerned with doing wheelies and burnouts in front of my friends rather than actually take in the good and bad of the bike. If it says anything at all I've wanted that exact bike since then. Lol

The first superbike! Nice ride, for sure! I have a ZRX1100that has been sitting since my younger brother had a distracted driver pull in front of him and died a few days later. Someday I’ll ride it again, I hope but at the moment I just can’t bring myself to sell it! Ride safe and if you see a driver on a phone get as far away as possible!!
I've heard of guys doing this just for teh extra c.c.s. Again these bikes were so affordable you could probably get an engine out of a wrecked one much cheaper than you could beef up your 1100. Thanks a lot for the comment. Please subscribe and get a friend to do the same and I will keep it coming.
Bought the 1200 motor with a 1224 kit already in it with a mild port job, went from 127 HP with the 1100 motor to 148 HP with the 1200 motor, added a good ported head and went to 161 HP also just added a set of Yosh STG1 cams but haven't been back to the dyno for numbers yet, I'm thinking 165/170 now.
