They can. The week of Dreamforce was cleaned up. One guest from a nice part of Chicago told me he had a pleasant walk from our business to Moscone. Said he didn't see anything wrong and that "people are too worried." LMAO... Of course, the city worked hard to steam clean the sidewalks ridding it of piss smell and shoo the homeless away. Lots of police presence that week lol

Yes, homelessness is a worldwide issue. So is drug use, but it’s not at the level this city is in. Homelessness isn’t what’s driving these businesses away. It’s the cost of operations and retail theft, with the latter being the main culprit. These criminals are operating in the city with impunity. Until they find a way to severely prosecute these people, organized theft rings will continue to bring this city down even more.

When I thought of SF in the past, I thought about its massive artist communities and its vibrant thriving diverse culture. People from every walk of life, trying to make it in the city.
Now it's just a sea of tech workers and underneath them, hidden out of view, is the dystopian nightmare that sometimes gets shown on the news: poverty, crime, homelessness, desperation. And all these years and they've done nothing to fix it. All that money, and it's just gotten worse. Their solutions for homelessness were just new ways to hide it, to cover it up. "Let's make it illegal to camp here," yeah that'll solve the fucking problem. Just make it illegal to be poor in your great city, that'll fix the issue of apartments being 4000 dollars a month and people being priced out of their communities.
This city 100% deserves everything it's getting.
I hope it gets drained of everyone thats not high income so they can realize that a city doesnt function without its middle/lower class. I dont want it to happen, but they wont fix anything until it does.

I always try to give her benefit of the doubt, but I don't agree with the mayor either. I have been to over 40 major global cities on 6 continents...a lot of them just in the past 7 years... and I have never seen anything anywhere outside of the U.S. like what I see in the Tenderloin. In poor cities, I might have seen people living in slums and filth, but they where all in their right minds, not strung out, not taking a dump all over the place (except for one city in Asia that I won't mention), and alive. I say "alive" because I was just in the Tenderloin 2-3 weeks ago and saw people who really looked dead from overdosing. The problems in the city outside of the Tenderloin might not be any different than what you can see in other global cities. But the Tenderloin itself is a different story. The closest that I can think of is another place in the U.S.....Kensington in Philadelphia.

Sounds a bit like trying to deflect and ignore issues in there own cities.. why not take that time and use it to better YOUR community, perhaps help the less fortunate in YOUR community before they do end up homeless and migrating to places like Cali and add to the problem... also pretty amazing how people are practically giddy over what the perceive as a city crashing and burning.. seeing first-hand the effects of the MAGA narrative that dems are the "enemy" .. I remember a time when people were just "fellow Americans" and people would try to help areas in distress regardless of the cause. I also remember a time when people didn't buy every single political narrative spoon fed to them.. and guess what, was raised far right, was a Tea Party member back in 2002, was even on stage several times with Glenn Beck, but this current GOP/Maga rhetoric of pure hate sent me running, it is totally not good for the country, not good for the party, and not good for you as a person.
