Great thing about Kirk, is that when Metallica came out in the 80's, every lead guitarist sounded like Eddie Van Halen and Yngwie. Kirk took the UFO/ Michael Schenker thing a step further and had his own style as well. And it wasn't only about speed! Kirk plays with balls, feel and taste!
Damn that's high. Seriously folks. Who that is "popular" in music today will still have people, and young people, still listening to them 35 years from now? Anyone? Not my VERY favorite guitar solo of all time, but it's up there. Comfortably Numb 1994 Earl's Court will always top my list. Amazing.
@@capell123 no I mean there are bends later on in the same solo that are absolutely bang on, and others that have beautiful falling edge vibrato. If it’s not deliberate it must be just an overload of gusto! P.s I love Kirk and you should too, unconditionally. :D
CAN YOU PLAY WITHOUT WAH FOR A SECOND?? i was learning studio version solo and wanted to see how kirk does it, all he does is wah pedal and tremolo picking during hard parts...
Kirk always plays this solo different everytime they play this song live and I gotta say that this is the best version by far!
+Patrick James 1985 best version
Studio version is the best
@Leo X Pope no it is not.
@@emmanova9856 absolutely
I've never understood why he everytime kills that which is one of the most beautiful solos he wrote...

His live playing does sound like balls.
@@BucsFan-vc5nl Thats messed up 😂
I wanna learn how to play with my balls
my man lars has the double bass going throughout the entire solo what a guy
best kirk fade to black solo! And Lars' double bass too!
+Unhallowed Tyrant 1985 is the best.
Cool pic you got there :)
Insomnus Utgard Thanks man! It's from Belzebong, check em out!
This solo is awesome, kirk was such a great musician.
He still is
@@kpruneri no he's not. He hasn't wrote a great solo in years. I don't even know who this clown is pretending to be him anymore.
@@BucsFan-vc5nl are you joking..?
@@askabarananek2973 Listen to the awesome solo in this video and then compare it that to Lux Æterna solo…… wtf happened to kirk?
@@BucsFan-vc5nl inamorata now
My favorie solo in guitar
I FUCKING LOVE THIS LES PAUL
I actually liked the wah here
The solo on the original track beats all the solos at live performances by far!
Don't agree
@@jurjenvisser1117 any live performance that has better solo than the original?
@@het2419 early versions are pretty decent

We need more of this. True artist. None of this shit they are trying to shove down our throats.
FuCKING AMAZING!
Kirk 🤘🥇
TAB: WAH WAH
Oh man, I love Kirk to death....if he could only bend in tune.
I think he overcooks the bends on purpose as it adds a discordant dizzying feel to the opening of the solo.
@@domspeller6474 That is a very generous appraisal, and I thank you for it.

So fucking awesome FUCK YEAH!!
better than studio record and absolutely the best of live versions, all other live versions suck
I was wondering if this solo is better than Iron's Hallowed be Thy name (initial) one...which do you prefer? Both are stunning...
This is the best fade to black live version like 1991 moscow solo is good but this is just next leve
too bad i can't like it many times :(
0:15 четыре бэнда и ни в один не попал)) ладно что это я кирк хорош

Too late its part of all these thrash metal guitarist repertoire.
