As an update to my last video about Caitlin Clark asserting herself against the Seattle Storm's Victoria Vivians and sending a message to the WNBA, I have the video of Vivians taking a cheap shot, punching Clark in the chest or neck.

I'm a 70 year old American white man, a Native of Iowa. I'm proud of Caitlin and what she has accomplished. I grew up when Good Sportsmanship was held highly. These cheap shots out of jealousy are totally unacceptable.

The cheap shot in the Chicago game was absolutely disgusting and the fact the ref only called an off the ball personal is trash. That should've been an ejection. This is similar to how Jordan got beat up a lot during his up and coming days in the 80s. CC needs to hit the gym and put a bit of muscle on, like Jordan did. As it is she gets knocked around pretty easily by these bigger girls.

Exactly what suburban mom is going to want to let their little girl that idolizes Caitlin Clark watch her get beat up on in every game to see that they are allowing it to continue.
To have their daughters think that it is acceptable and alright for grown women to be violent and aggressive in sport. So then their daughters when they play basketball will start to do the same. Or worst have to explain to them that it isn’t and have to be consoling their little girls because they don’t want to be seeing Caitlin get hit, pushed, grabbed, knocked to the ground…it’s outright warfare on that court to the point that I wouldn’t be surprised that before the end of the season they are going to cause her to be injured. What then? How is the WNBA going to explain that they allowed for this type of play to go on that they knew about and allowed to continue and caused to those little girls if anything does happen to CC…then god bless the player that does end up harming/injuring CC because those little girls and many in America will never forgive or forget. It will be like the Tonya Harding case in which they will be the villain and nothing they do will ever get them in the good books ever again; all but ruin their lives and career but for some reason they don’t seem to be thinking ahead or of the consequences of their actions because if they were they wouldn’t be going after CC the way they are. It’s one thing to go after her defensively by double/triple teaming her but another to outright get physically aggressive with force, hitting, shoving, yanking, knocking down, etc. if at any time on of these instances were to physically injure CC in a way that it were to end her career could you imagine the uproar that would cause not only to that player but to that team, it’s coach and to the WNBA? It would all but effectively end it all. The entire WNBA would effectively get canceled by the American people for allowing that to happen. They might want to think about that before they continue allowing this to happen every single game.

It was Carter. A total hack. Ball wasn’t even in bounds!!
It wasn't just away from the ball, the ball wasn't even in play at the time. From the baseline camera, you could see the Chicago player called CC a "bitch", then grimaced as she ducked her shoulder to blind-side her. She had no problem doing it direclty in front of the Ref and Reese was cheering it from the sideline. I was at the game for the VV thing and it was totally uncalled for, but it seemed like it was mostly just a Vet trying to intidimate a rookie (who woudln't stand for it). The thing today was a far worse cheap shot and even after reviewing it, the Refs wouldn't upgrade it from a common foul, which just reinforces the Refs stance that head-hunting Clark is fair game.
Keep talking truth! Today’s thugs were even worse! If I’m CC I’m SERIOUSLY looking at that other option she was given and saying goodbye to the WNBA.
She can’t leave as she signed 5 year contracts and same with Nike and other sponsors! We gonna get through this I hope now that today the WNBA mgmt took action on those thugs with fines and serious implications! Did you see news story all over natl news??? Just google it! Jealousy is a serious thing, don't sleep on jealousy, it's bad for everyone's health. That's one strong feelings, that's extremely hard to suppress, cause if it was easy to suppress, then you won't be seeing all of these types of actions right there on the court, some very obvious and clear actions. Shame on the mess.

Thank you for the straight scoop on what fired CC up. Caitlin is going to have to get ejected once and Aliyah Boston is going to have to go all Enforcer on some of these haters. CCs teammates should be up in these other players grills and have Caitlin's back. The FEVER need to clear the bench 1 time and drag the other teams biggest threat or best scorer or both and this unnecessary stuff will stop. Make the WNBA and the refs do their damn job.

Can't believe they would call a technical on Caitlin without reviewing it and seeing the cheap shot. Then it should have been a T on the other player. And the one today where the Chicago player knocked Caitlin to the floor as she was waiting for the ball to come to her from out of bounds, that player should be fined and suspended and the ref fired! No way is that not a flagrant foul! Enough is enough!

Once again Refs not doing their job. Why did you go from having 2 refs to 3 refs in a game? One reason was to improve the official's ability to see what was happening off the ball.

The other big question is why are the ref's not doing their job. They could have called a referees time out and went and looked at the footage we just saw! And it's not like they aren't aware of the situation it's been all over media and the internet for a couple months now! Throwing a punch is an ejection. If the WNBA doesn't clean this up the revenue is going to start going back down to where it was before Clark came into the league!

Loved your analysis! Personally I think it is extreme female jealousy based on two reasons. First, she either is or will be better than a lot of the players she goes up against. Second, she became a millionaire almost overnight and before she ever played her first WNBA game and some of her competitors will never make a million dollars throughout their WNBA careers.

There are cameras recording all actions on the court where the referee could have reviewed it and do the the right thing to punish the perpetrator,why didn’t the ref do that? that cheap shot was absolutely disgusting.

Not sure which is worse--the p*ss poor refs acting like they collect kickbacks or watching vet players terrified of new talent---+/OR---ding, ding, ding: WNBA thugs racketeering their profit like this is 1960s Roller Derby & they're pimps who like a little rough & don't care about players' well-being. If someone concussion/TBI, hurt or paralyzed, ain't no big thang--good for publicity & ratings! They need to be serious. Suspensions/fines & firings.

Two bullying things happened to Caitlin in today's game. The first was called, the second wasn't.
1. Chennedy Carter thrusts her hip into Caitlin and knocks her down. They were just standing there, no ball. That was called. There's a Women Hooping video that shows it in slow motion.
2: Angel Reese reached around her back and flung Caitlin to the floor, then she taunted her. You can actually see Angel look at Caitlin on the floor and say something. They didn't call that. There's a Women Hooping video showing it in slow motion.
I didn't see the Reese incident happen but saw Carter's and thought that was blatantly egregious, totally uncalled for especially when CC couldn't see it coming.
Reese did not swing her by the neck. CC is a fckn FLOP. Please.
The replay showed Reese didn't do it on purpose. Reese did nothing wrong.
Carter, I don't know how she got out of that without a flagrant.
I'm OK with aggressive play and with mind games, but when it's intentionally something that's trying to hurt a player, that's unacceptable. Much like with Bill Laimbeer back in the 80s. He tried to hurt the other players.

Thank you for posting that! I read a comment about that view being out there somewhere but couldn’t find it. One thing I knew without seeing it though is that Caitlin has too much class/integrity to have been the one to initiate a conflict on the court.

Thanks Coach. And the same thing happened today. Player shoulders her down from behind and no blatant 1 or 2 is called then reece shoves her down and the commentators try to blame Clark. Tired of everybody else's bad behavior being excused or blamed on clark.
The WNBA Office needs to step up and either fire these refs or tell them to do their jobs. This is absolutely trash play by these women. Grow up and play the game the right way!
