1999 Lurgan Park Rally

Gwyndaf Evans claimed his third Lurgan Park Rally win in 1999 comfortably beating a strong field behind the wheel of his Seat Cordoba World Rally Car. Challenging conditions this year produced plenty of drama at the popular event!

Such a shame this even no longer runs - its needed now more than ever as it was a great way for kids to get introduced to the sport, where they could be on a bouncy castle one moment and watch a WRC blast round the park a few moments later. We didnt know how good we had it in those days with a WRC team in Lurgan Park.....could only dream of that now!

I think the problem is people don’t like today’s cars anymore. In those days rally cars were what people could relate to.
