Viotek unfortunately isn't available in Germany (where I live). Hard to tell if it's any good without testing. I took a closer look at the ICC they provide and seems like that the color gamut volume isn't larger than sRGB, which might not be optimal for a editing monitor depending on your usage.

Thanks! I'm always providing the contrast ratio with HDR turned off. The goal is to measure the native contrast ratio of the panel without any dimming or whatnot trickery. Dimming can produce good looking contrast numbers, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the image looks good as well. Thank you for the nice review. You're the only person I find only that only did an icc profile for this monitor, and that I think that did a nice review
Watching this again as I'm juggling between the 24GN600-B and G2470HSU I noted some things, why not talk about pixel pitch? Things like that can impact overall clarity and as everyone uses a monitor for reading it seems a pretty important factor to not be covering. It would also be good to know which monitors use the god awful AC power bricks (because such things are a deciding factor for people) and which use a nice integrated power supply requiring the standard kettle plug lead. Would also be really good to know if the iiyama (and monitors in general with high enough nit values) is capable of utilising the Win10 HDR mode, not because it would be particularly good, but to see if the HDR signal affects text clarity (it does with an iiyama 2466HSU-B1).
Hi techless! I'm from Brazil and I followed your great review and I thank you immensely!!! About loading the color profile, in nvidia settings do you have any suggestions if you should leave the settings in automatic or can I adjust? I also realized that there is a 10bit option if I choose will I be harmed? I'm going to use the monitor for beginner digital drawing and painting and I wanted to extract the greatest fidelity of the colors, thank you!!!!
Nvidia settings on automatic should usually do the job. If you like you could change them to manual to make sure that full range (0-255) RGB is enabled. 10 bit shouldn't be available with this monitor, but it wouldn't hurt enabling that if it was an option.

The best part of this review is you doing color calibration and listing the settings for it, because there is functionally nowhere else on the internet that actually does that for this monitor. Even browsing and asking around reddit you just end up getting "Buy a 200$ spyder or other calibration tool" which is fucking worthless advice for a 150$ monitor. You rule.

Hey techless. I‘m so happy I found your channel. I am looking for an fast 144/165hz ips monitor to replace my lenovo y25-10 144hz TN-panel monitor. Still not sure how fast this is or if I could be satisfied with an IPS panel due to backlight bleed and ips glow. Other than that, I appreciate your effort you spent in your videos! Would you consider testing the acer 242yp and the hp x24ih? That would be awesome! I almost fell in love with the ex2510 after I watched your review. 👍🏼 keep up your great work my german friend ;)

@@techlessYT thanks for your reply. I did the ufo test, of course. :) in motion, the picture seems very clear, but I don‘t know how to to make a screenshot. In your videos, it seems you‘re strafing the Camera inline with the motion of the ufo. Is that the way it works?
Thank you for this review, sir. I was checking the market and they are selling the LG 24GN60R-B which apparently is an updated version of this monitor. Do you know if there's any kind of difference between the two?
So I bought that one now apparently it has only 1 display port and 1 hdmi on the newer version. Also you don't get a red colour at the back of the monitor. According to LG the reason they moved the hdmi 2nd port out is because they added a speaker in I am waiting for mine to arrive 👍
@techless Hi! Thanks for the review, the low nits convinced me to give it a try! [PSA: once you enable the strobing effect (called "Motion Blur Reduction" here), the minimum brightness shift around 60 nits (I gave up on using it, I'm fine with VRR but it could be useful to others)]. I just want to say that in my case (GTX 1060 6GB) there is no range difference between "FreeSync Premium Basic" and "FreeSync Premium Extended", they both operate at 60-144Hz on 144Hz signal. If you play at capped 60fps it still can't handle 60Hz so it switch to 120Hz with LFC. I've seen that the threshold gets lowered with lower Hz signal (at 100hz it goes at 48-100Hz) but overall there is zero differences between Basic and Extended in my case (tested with Nvidia Pendulum demo and various games). Do you have any explanation for this? Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback! Not sure what's going on with LFC in your case. LG should really provide a better clarification what these modes do. Or actually a clarification at all..
I cannot decide between OPTIX G241 and this one. I am going to use the monitor for everything like coding, gaming, watching stuff and editing. Which one do you recommend? Thank you btw amazing content!!

I got same monitor but my setup was. Mode:Gamer, Color temp: Custom, brightness: 50-70, Gamma: Mode 4, RED:52, Green:46, BLUE: 50, Black Stabilizer: 55. ANOTHER RECOMMED for overall nice color looking who like contrast. Just give opinion for other PLEASE TRY I think you will like it. :)
Gamma 4 make color look much better. Especially at the blue sky. But ingame to dark can change to gamma 1 for better view at dark area.. btw thanks for opinion 👍🏻
imo gamma mode 4, is just too dark and makes stuff look over saturated, even gamma 1 isnt perfect, but gamma 1 gives more headrom to play with especially combied with techless's icc profile, comparing native gamma to profiled, i find that gamma 4 is just too darker and mode 1 is much more closer to the profiled look
Mate, thanks so much for your amazing reviews! I have decided to get this to upgrade from my old 22MP58VQ. My first thing I noticed from this new monitor is how.. bright.. almost blinding when I open GDrive or websites with major white colour. May I know what kind of settings should I change for this kind of problem? Should I touch contrast level? Currently still at default 70. Gamma mode 1 as recommended, sRGB too 50/46/45. Brightness currently at 10 only. but still feel hurtful lol... Please advise!

i used your icc with the gamer 2 mode and brightness set at 90% (need it otherwise its just too dark for me) looks really good actually starting getting quality i paid for
Hey, quick tip here: The icc and color correction is a bit on the warmer side for some reason, at least on my screen. A good fix is to either turn on the HDR mode, or go into the color temp, set it to manual, and slide it to the right to make it C1. It might not be perfect, but if you compare it between Gamer 1 and HDR you will notice the warmer color.
@@nicholaibunnie I'd wish it was, but no. Its definetly warmer than intended. I compared it to my phone and other monitors and even in completely grey pages it shows them as a bit on the warmer side.

@@techlessYT thanks!!
Just bought this monitor because of your review and im pretty hyped for it. i hadnt had a monitor upgrade in almost a decade
How did it go?
I found better setting:
Gamma mode 2
RGB 49/49/52
Brightness 50
Contrast 70
did u test the accuracy?
hey i know this is very late but thankyou so much for giving the recommended settings for this monitor! my monitor just arrived today and i've been looking everywhere for the recommended settings but couldn't find any but then i come across your video. thankyou so much
Great video covering a lot of details about the monitor. Thanks for your effort in making this high quality video. I believe more people will acknowledge your channel in no time, keep it up man :)
recommended settings made my colors super nice thank you
The best part of this review is you doing color calibration and listing the settings for it, because there is functionally nowhere else on the internet that actually does that for this monitor. Even browsing and asking around reddit you just end up getting "Buy a 200$ spyder or other calibration tool" which is fucking worthless advice for a 150$ monitor. You rule.
. Mañana me llega el pedido para mí ps5.
Bro the quality of your videos are insane! Keep up the absolute great job.
I had a question, do you know about the difference in the msi optix g242 vs the g242? I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks! According to reddit the G242 uses the same panel as the Asus VG249Q and AOC 24G2 V2: www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/lmf14z/for_those_interested_in_the_msi_g242_they_are/
@@techlessYT Thank you again for your help, really really means a lot
Another awesome review! That was the second monitor I bought after watching your videos, great job!
What's your opinion on the HDR implementation in this monitor? Curious to know what you think.
You're the Digital Foundry of monitors. Love your work!
What do you think about it's HDR? Idk if I sohuld leave it on, it's seems everything is just brighter.
Also: does the HDR disables the Color Profile you made?
+1
Absolute best monitor reviewer i have come across. Keep it up my man.
Your content is pro as hell - likewise in the why of optimum tech :) … And I‘m having some questions aswell :)
Which wireless mouse are you playing with? Would you consider testing the acer 242yp and the hp x24ih? That would be awesome! I almost fell in love with the ex2510 after I watched your review. 👍🏼 keep up your great work my german friend ;)
Thanks man!
I'd suggest doing the UFO test on your current monitor and comparing the results with the UFOs in my review.
I'm currently using the Glorious Model O wireless - very happy with that :)
@@techlessYT thanks for your reply. I did the ufo test, of course. :) in motion, the picture seems very clear, but I don‘t know how to to make a screenshot. In your videos, it seems you‘re strafing the Camera inline with the motion of the ufo. Is that the way it works?
Just an outstanding review. Thanks.
@@sollerhollersoulblade6126How is it? Is it the same panel?
@@drimel8276 I think it is the same panel never tried the speakers since I have a sound bar
@@sollerhollersoulblade6126 nice, is there any significant blacklight bleed or ghosting?
wonderful video, im buying this monitor next week. Thanks for the info provided!
BEST reviev thanx mate i will share it for sure
I cannot decide between OPTIX G241 and this one. I am going to use the monitor for everything like coding, gaming, watching stuff and editing. Which one do you recommend? Thank you btw amazing content!!
Which one did u buy ? Wat do u recommend ?
Thanks u soooo much for the review of this monitor, iam about to buy this but there is no in-dept review for me to see if it fit my needs.
Keep up the good work

Great review! Can we use this profile settings file for LG 24GN650-B?
no one has replied your comment so i presume i can use it in this monitor
@@capetamenino Well, the difference is pivot. Panel is same.
@@CanerKaraca do you still have it? I m having problems with it I think he s pretty dark even with brightness in 70
@@capetamenino Yeah, i have it but i don't use it anymore. I'm sure it's best monitor on equals.
Heftig gutes Video. Keine Fragen offen geblieben, danke.
Gamma mode 4 isn't using gamma.
The best gamma it's 2.
Try my settings and tell me:
Gamma 2
49
49
52
Gamma 4 make color look much better. Especially at the blue sky. But ingame to dark can change to gamma 1 for better view at dark area.. btw thanks for opinion 👍🏻
imo gamma mode 4, is just too dark and makes stuff look over saturated, even gamma 1 isnt perfect, but gamma 1 gives more headrom to play with especially combied with techless's icc profile, comparing native gamma to profiled, i find that gamma 4 is just too darker and mode 1 is much more closer to the profiled look
I cant use free sync and 144 hz everytime i try turning it on my hz lowers automatically to 60 hz can anyone help me ?
Mate, thanks so much for your amazing reviews!
I have decided to get this to upgrade from my old 22MP58VQ.
My first thing I noticed from this new monitor is how.. bright.. almost blinding when I open GDrive or websites with major white colour.
May I know what kind of settings should I change for this kind of problem?
Should I touch contrast level? Currently still at default 70.
Gamma mode 1 as recommended, sRGB too 50/46/45.
Brightness currently at 10 only. but still feel hurtful lol...
Please advise!
and how is it now?
Very good review. I have purchased this monitor and I will be using your recommended settings.
What would you recommend on getting the Mobiuz EX2510 or This LG? regarding the lifespan and performance
Yeah I Also Have to do this choice
EX2510 with Blur reduction enabled is still the best shit for 144hz IPS
Facts I’m getting that
Thank you the deatiled review! It really helps to decide what to buy.
Thx for the review i needed this, maybe ill buy this monitor in case i dont find anything better at the same price point
Thank You for the info on 24GN600 vs 24GN650 - its just the stand

Nice vid techless!!👍👍🔥🔥
Great video! I hope you make a video about the LG 24QP500. It's a 24 inch 1440p monitor for $200!
amazing review, but i don't remember you mentioning hdr10 support
i used your icc with the gamer 2 mode and brightness set at 90% (need it otherwise its just too dark for me) looks really good actually starting getting quality i paid for
Freesync modes
48~144Hz (Extended)
60~144Hz (Basic)
Hey, quick tip here: The icc and color correction is a bit on the warmer side for some reason, at least on my screen. A good fix is to either turn on the HDR mode, or go into the color temp, set it to manual, and slide it to the right to make it C1. It might not be perfect, but if you compare it between Gamer 1 and HDR you will notice the warmer color.
Either that or change the blue to 49 to 52. You might want to check again your color correction techless cause it really is a bit warmer.
@@89xixsem89warmer is more accurate but some people prefer cooler
@@nicholaibunnie I'd wish it was, but no. Its definetly warmer than intended. I compared it to my phone and other monitors and even in completely grey pages it shows them as a bit on the warmer side.
Anyone know how LG 24GN65R-B and LG UltraGear 24GN60R are? Can't seem to find LG 24GN650 and LG 24GN600 in my country.
Same question
Hi! first time in your channel, I wanted to leave a few words to congratulate you for your minimalistic style, your objectivity and your indepth review, I realy enjoied it. I will subscribe! the only think I would work on is the presentation, don't get me wrong, it's clear an concise, but I think you should try to be more relaxed, it would give a more genuine feeling, not so much as of just reading the script. Hope you become one of the big ones in the tech world
This is his presentation style and he doesn’t need to change anything. We don’t need to criticise everything.
I've bought this Samsung G3, and I've just delivered it back. This monitor is just terrible for first person shooting, the ghost is just way too much. I'm planning on buying the MSI version or even this LG. Thanks for the video, btw!
wat do you think about the viewsonic budget xg2405 ?... btw love your videos
Awesome video and Review thanks man, best type of review on RUclips! Will this monitor be good for Coding and Xbox series S?
hey great video I just bought this exact same monitor and I'm wondering if that is a cover on the vesa mount that I should remove before mounting it to a desk arm or just leave it there ?
I really want to get a decent 1080p 144hz 24″ monitor with good color accuracy. I have been looking at many and price wise and stock wise I came down to these 3: Msi Optix G24, Acer Nitro XV240Y and the Asus Tuf VG249Q (sadly the color accuracy on this one isn't the best). I would love to see a review of the Acer Nitro XV240Y since there are pretty much no reviews online that mention it's actual performance or color accuracy. Still thank you so much for the detailed reviews for the Asus Tuf VG249Q and Msi Optix G24 :)
Which one did you end up choosing?
@@BruhHeSalty I bought the msi optix g24 almost a year ago and I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing I did was that I vesa mounted it to a monitor arm because the default stand takes a ton of desk space
