Porzingis should try to work out with Hakeem the Dream during the summer to learn how to post up and some foot work tricks.
Отличная идея, Хаким помогал Яо! Кристапсу ужасно не повезло с травмами и именно Хаким может помочь ему так-же ментально. Не говоря про его опыт в движениях и в физической подготовке!
My dude he needs to ad 20kg to post up and his knees barely hold up this weight...
Mavs need desperately to make a trade but they will probably have to give up Hardaway as well; there's no other way to justify taking on KP's contract.
They have to go all-out for a package like, say, Wood & Porter at Houston - and do it asap, or it's gonna be a loooong next few years.
Hakeem is too old to ball and Carlisle was right about KP. The problem that Luka and the Mavs have on Porzingis is their trust in him to take shots
just last year they were the Top Scoring Duo..KP was doing great mixing outside and inside
That Mavericks team had the Best offense in NBA history as well last season
Yeah kristaps hasn't been able to play the same since he got injured in the playoffs coupled with the reduced offense from losing seth for J rich, coupled with health and safety protocols having our shooters out and Kleber playing noticeably worse on offense and Powell being out when the luka and powell pick and roll was one of our best plays coupled with the pop threat of KP.
@@DCT97 Were they really? How so
Yea because the offense was tailored for both of them now this year they just ran it through luka
@@cleyvtapia yeah, tbh im not a fan of their offense now..the same with what they did with Harden in Houston

As a mav fan, I still root for kp. Yeah, he’s very disappointing in this year’s playoffs but I hope with the new HC and a long offseason to stay healthy, it’ll lit them to become better as a team. Just lessen the drama queen things lol.
As another Mavs fan my love for him has been sliding for a while now. If he comes good he’ll be an amazing second fiddle. If he stays injured he’ll never reach that and will continue to break up the team chemistry it’s cooked.
If he could stop some mid range from the clippers and make like around 20 pts consistently with high efficiency Mavs could've ended the clippers earlier and won.
Rick was disappointing
They dont have one as of yet, right?
@@reckon7457 I’m no Jrich hater but I legit wanted Seth to stay. Even in his first stint with the mavs, I loved him. He a bucket. They probably win that series if seth was there tbh.

@@lambertbrown1739 you obviously didn’t watch last season because he balled out and in the playoffs, dude was getting to the rim like an animal. Also he was good all this season, until the playoffs when they wanted him to be a spot up 3pt shooter and nothing more. He was only putting up 22ppg on the Knicks as the main guy, not much different than 20ppg as the second star on the mavs in his 2nd season after an ACL tear.
@@DCT97 his defense impact both in the regular season and in the playoffs has taken a huge dip. I feel like it’s due to his declining athleticism, cause what else could it be. Advanced and basic metrics along with the eye test show how much of a dip he’s had on defense
@@andyabreu5627 he was great on defense for the Mavericks last year. This season is where his dip in defensive production began, after his meniscus tear in a shortened off-season. I’m gonna give him the benefit of a full off-season of being healthy and a new head coach before I just write him off after a bad playoff performance. Possibly a whole new team and everything, especially if him and Luka don’t even like each other.
This. I truly believe this. He went from being a unicorn to just another lengthy big who can hit a shot and not a true game changer.

I really can't see it pg didn't change up his whole game but I feel like kp doesn't want to change up his game
'Redeem'??? He has nothing to Redeem! 😂 PG is a perennial All-star & All-defense, whereas Kristaps is a stat-friendly overrated borderline star (NOT All-star)

I doubt it, Pandemic-P is a mental thing, Paul George's game is always there, this dude went toe to toe against the peak all mighty Lebron, with Porzingis not only he was never there on the star ranking, he is not even trying to get back, if he actually cares, why would Cuban in the middle of the season went on radio talking about his beef with Luka? Doncic is amazing, but will burn out eventually when he figures out he can't actually win in the playoffs by himself and needs another stars help, or he'll be wading in water like what happened to Harden in Houston
funny that you mention Harden, because he sure isolates like him.
@@azrielnguyen9586 Luka's usage rate is as high as Harden was in Houston so it's hard to win playing like that.
Kp will leave and start winning, doncic will stay and statpad
@@Oxilus_B Let me educate you since seem to be blissfully unaware. I'm a long time Rockets fan, I watched and followed the team closer than ever once Harden got there. Harden was running the offense in Houston, he took over point guard duties from the McHale days to after D'antoni got there, he had no one to split ball handling and playmaking duties with. Then Chris Paul came to Houston, and look what happened, the team set a franchise record for wins (65) Harden won an MVP, his usage rate dropped, his efficiency went up, and he wasn't gassed in the post season, why? Because Harden finally had the luxury of having a master point guard to split said ball handling and playmaking duties with, and it blossomed. That's exactly what Luka needs, a star point guard at his side who can split time running the offense, or a star shooting guard who can create his own offense that can reduce the time that Luka has the ball in his hands and is consistent. That's why I think it's crucial that Dallas either go after Mike Conley (budget Chris Paul) or Bradley Beal.
@@Nightwing690 and that transitioned to no championships also James Harden destroyed his relationship with Dwight Howard and Chris Paul which Chris Paul publicly stated his "biggest beefs" with Harden was his lack of interest in participating in the Rockets offense when he didn't have the ball, including "sometimes barely stepping over half court while spectating when Paul had the ball." I see why he, Dwight Howard and Russell Westbrook wanted out of Houston.
Luka also is one of the worse off-ball offensive players in the league he stands there waiting to get the ball back just like Harden. Also he is already having relationship issues with Porzingis after only the second season playing with each other, what makes you think this won't continue?
Here is some evidence on why Luka and Porzingis relationship is rocky ruclips.net/video/l-lbmsrMbJ0/видео.html

Watch carefully and you will see that Luca does not want to play with Porzingis and rarely passes to him. Ideally he should be utilised so much more but he's not - it's time for him to be traded to a contending them - either the Heat or Philadelphia.
No, I dont think Mavericks gonna trade Porzingis...
porzingis overlaps with embiid tho
Porzingis was brought on to be the second star of the team and Hardaway was supposed to be a role player but they ended but switching roles, I do think that they gotta trade Porzingis tho also I make videos as well
If u trade KP who do u trade him for?
The question is which team will gamble on him?
His salary is max contract, hardly to dump.
The question is, Which team is gonna take is colossal ass contract?
Nahhh no one's gonna grab him $31M next season can't even stay healthy
I feel like with the amount of times pick and rolls with luka can def be upped.
that is if kp plays center, bc if he plays the 4, no use in pnr, bc the other team will just switch
Should've gone for Vucevic on deadline day.
I dunno the contract structure,

@@shaft9000 naw unfortunately. KP's on max salary while Porter on rookie contract. Wood made around 1/3 of the unicorn's money. Without having any picks, they're basically can only offer only him to tempt others. Good thing is, max contract not that hard to get rid of. 2 of any decent starters could match KP's salary. I think his health would be the key for his trade.
The major problem is his health, he lost mobility and lateral quickness, his D got perceptively worse, if he can’t stay healthy, it’s no good regardless of his role.

All I see in these comments are “He’s never been the same after the ACL” bull fucking shit man, this dude was balling last year and this year until the playoffs. Him and Luka led the Mavericks to the best offensive rating in NBA history last season.
The problem with Kristaps Porzingis problem is not his skill or even coaching, it is his attitude that holds him back. Not everyone is unselfish like Bosh, Love,...

Он спрашивает: так я Робин Гуд? но ему говорят - ты просто Робин, а вот твой Бэтмен и зовут его Лука!
I don’t know about that Kevin love one
As much blame as Porzingis gets for his bad series, I really do feel like a short Offseason played a huge factor. Now that Dallas is out, KP can rest and be healthy 100% himself again.
The short off season is no excuse especially when luka his teammates and all of the clippers had a much shorter one I think KP only played 1 playoff game in the bubble so that still gave him a extra 3 months on top of the extra 2 months and a few days of the shortened off season put it together KP had more time then a regular off season which is normally 5 months not every team had a short off season
@@f1ightju313 Porzingis went out in Game 6 of the bubble last year though. August to December is clearly not enough recovery time for the knee sprain that KP had.
They had 5 months rest prior to the bubble and didn't have to travel in the bubble.....
@@manz7860 correct. However the bubble season ended in September and in late December a whole new 72 game season with multiple teams playing back to back games, PLUS the play in tournament. That really isn't a big enough recovery window and injuries this season have happened at a rapid pace. They should've waited until at least February to start this new season
I think kevin love is better fit for luka and Love's rebounding is way better than kp. Kp is only a shooter nothing more.

@Charles Schwabb that would be the best opportunity
KP needs to stop settling for jumpshots period needs to get inside more and use his length to be more of a presence on defense 7 foot tall and you always shooting jumpshots
I think a sign and trade of KP for DeRozan could work. Having another playmaker lift off some weight from Luka so he doesn’t always have to run the offense. Allowing him to maneuver around a little more freely and get to his spots easier.
Why would the Spurs take on that horrible contract??
Move Porzingis to the Power Forward position and find a true Center..
@@euroteknique12 Spurs desperately need a big and I’m sure they’ve got the space for that contract.
If luka didnt play his mind out vs the clippers, the mavs would have been swept. They cant depend on luka on dropping 35-40 points every night. Kristaps needs to be traded but no one would take on his contract and injuries...
Those injuries and That Contract will most definitely kill any trade offers..
dont like Doncic he plays a not winning Bball like Harden played for the most time of hid career. In my opinion he got the ball to often in his hands.
Porzingis (as with a large number of other players) prove that talent has to materialize statistically. Perhaps he's just not that good. Maybe he isn't a Unicorn, just a large horse with a birth defect.
HA!!!
I think porzingis is underrated and underplayed. He needs rhe ball in his hands more and needs to be used more in the pick and roll and to bring the ball up the court a little more so he can build confidence and trust with the team and mark cuban.
@Lionel Messi SF ? So he can get abuse on defense lmaoo
@Lionel Messi His natural position is PF. He's not great 1-on-1 defence with the big guys, but playing help defense as he did in NY works best
@Lionel Messi I don't know. It wasnt that bad, he could stretch the offense what made Luka's job that much easier. If Dallas could get someone like Brook lopez on center, KP can play PF....but SF. No way he can keep up with the fast wings. They would even torch him while he was the best defensive himself
Luka will FOREVER be the hero because of the numbers he puts up. Numbers he can ONLY achieve by freezing out Porzingis and whomever else. Granted, "Zinger" should have perfected a big man's low post game by now, but that's something he could have made happen in an off-season or two, while Don-Cicci doesn't seem to be part of the process of making the players around him better in any way--he simply dominates the ball and hoists up shots. If he or they think that's working, the results speak differently.
He needs to improve his post moves, that way he'll have a bigger role. He can become a pnr partner for luka and he can also be a pnp and that can be a trouble for their opponent because Luka is amazing anywhere in the court.
I don't really see why they play him more in the post. He might be have a low PPP in the Post, but getting to the post is the easiest way to get FT's, especially for a 7 footer like Kristaps, and he's a good FT-shooter.
I've been a Mavs fan since I was a kid. I also became a Porzingis fan when he was on the Knicks. Some even thought he would be similar to Nowitzki in the future. Naturally, I was very excited when the Mavs traded for him even after the injury. After that, I honestly thought the saddest part was Doncic, Nowitzki, and Porzingis not playing an NBA game together. Then the 2021 season came :)
To be honest, he doesn't deserve that much hate. Yes he underperformed. But so do gobert, or Simmons too. In addition to that, KP is a 7'3 guy, that suffered a acl tear I think 2-3 years ago. It's amazing that he's able to still play at a high level. And yes, he played at a high level this regular season. He had a few 40 point games and many 30 point outings. He gained muscle and got heavier. He's less mobile and got slower, but less injury prone too!
If you do a little research on him, you quickly will understand how hard of a worker he is! In the last years he had to regain his health, dealing with setbacks. But from now on, being healthy most of the times, he can focus on getting his game back on spot. I'm into his hype!
And great video Andy!
His style is the worst. There’s always a spectrum
Physical - - - - - -Finesse
Athleticism is on one end and Footwork and Fundamentals are on the other end
Greatness is being 27-33yo with the perfect balance.
Porzingis won’t crash the offensive glass or dominate the defensive glass (no meat on the bones and no eagerness to punish you)
If he’s run off the 3/not hitting them easily, he’s not putting the ball on the floor for off the dribble midrange/attacking the basket with bully ball.

If not for how KP played the Mavs would have definitely won that series in my opinion. Luka put that team on his back.
Been a fan of KP since the Knicks drafted him. 💯 Injuries really hampered his career just as when he was finally getting his rhythm back since the bubble. Hope he comes back stronger next season.
The injuries have definitely robbed him of the guard-like explosive twitchiness that he once had in New York and it made up for his relatively weak frame. He definitely looks stiffer and gets exposed on defense, not sure if he will ever be the same player or if he'll just have to adapt to a new role like Derrick Rose did after the knee injuries...

Yeah… the Knicks definitely WON the trade
But they failed to get either Zion or Ja Morant in 2019 Draft.
ya? and what did knicks get? go back to school
Kristaps Porzingis - aka ‘The New Pandemic P’
After the injury, Kristaps lost his own aura of invincibility that helped him be what he was in Knicks: an elite rim protector, throwing blocks left and right like candy on Halloween. His brutal confidence made him able to put 110% in his game. He had balls and just went for it. The injury took that away. He is afraid to jump and - even worse - he is afraid to land. He has no desire to "go in there" anymore because of this fear. He may be putting 100% into his game now, but is always working around his fears. He is afraid of contact and wants to get rid of the ball as soon as possible. His position is nothing to be envied, either he decides to throw caution to the wind and go balls to the wall until that final, career ending injury, going out in a blaze of glory so to speak, or he "gradually" fades into obscurity.
He needs to get on that Giannis workout regimen and get taught by Hakeem or Dirk in the offseason. Post-ups shouldn’t be your number one weapon but it should still be in your arsenal
Well Luka is allowed to do WHATEVER he wants and has the ultimate green light to shoot anything from anywhere. Luka is a baller but he do a lil too much. He only like 21 22 and Cuba gave him that mentality and security and that’s gonna be hard for him to outgrow
Guy is a belladonna. He just doesnt care nor try anymore since he unironically believes he has been betrayed by the organization.
Trade him to the Zalgiris or something
Why not just say Drama Queen lmao
KP is a third option type guy. The Mavs need a Paul George type 2nd option.
There wouldn’t be a problem if Zingis Pingis wasn’t injured every 45 seconds. Shits ridiculous
As much as Porzingis should get most of the blame to Dallas losing, should we really talk about getting rid of him? We did the same thing with PG but now he’s bouncing back but if Porzingis regresses even further Dallas needs to get rid of him
I agree. It was a lose-lose. He wanted the ball, but when he got it, the offense sucked. The thing that kept him on the floor was his shot-blocking, but he couldn't even do that vs. the Clips.
I cringe everytime Porzingis drives then suddenly shoots a mid range instead of layup or do a good post move. :/ I guess he's a little bit traumatized because of injuries
He didn't played for over a year due to injury. He never fully recovered. It's amazing how good he still plays.
as much as the gameplay has change at this era, i miss watching the 90's basketball where real Center bullies their way to the basket
I’ll get you banned from RUclips for your comment. You are not allowed to talk about 90s basketball when talking about this video.
Knicks won the trade.
Since you can´t trade KP at the moment the Mavs are stuck with him so they should try to make the best out of it. They need a coach that demands for him to work on his post game and also tells Luka to trust his sidekick. Dirk should somehow be involved close to the team to teach Luka some manners and KP his post game.
He does what team asks him to, if they ask him to get better at post he will do that. It's what he said in exit interview.
dallas need to trade for derozan
Andy hoop why you ack like u know shot about basketball let's see next year if your right cus all the shii u said about curry weren't even close you and Mike only Swis is correct
Porzingis is overpaid for his role
If the Mavs can’t trade him for someone better than just keep him for another yr and lets see what a new coach does with him. Rick has never been good at managing personalities.
His attitude is a big reason that he plays bad and inefficiently, “I try to work hard” You can’t have that demeanor as a pro and be successful at the same time
If Kristaps Porzingis wasn't making $30 million a year, I could see you naming this video "The Kristaps Porzingis Question"
But since he IS making $30 million a year ($31 actually) I feel like this video should be titled "The Kristaps Porzingis PROBLEM"
When KP just landed in Dallas, their offense was more balance, making both Luka and KP happy, thus rated no. 1 offense in the NBA (but very sh**y in defense LOL). This season, Luka got WAY too much power, on and off the field, presumably because of his growing fanbase. His stats became priority, be in the highlights is some kind a necessity for him if you watch how many hero-ball offense he played this season. I bet Rick Carlisle and the old GM were fed up of this situation as they never face an ego problems this big (Luka vs KP).
I also blame the Mavs for jacking KP body up to be significantly bigger LOL. Skinny KP made him look like KD.
Dude, you are completely wrong - you are showing KP from wrong side. Do you know that there are not many people in the world with 7'3 who can do such incredible things like him? Why you blame KP if he is used to get touches? Luka has ball 90% time in his hands, of course he can shoot 40 shots per game. How many shots got KP vs LaC? Maybe 7 shots per game, what do you expect him to do? Coach told him to stay on 3 in corner, nobody even gives him a ball in post vs 6'2 Reggie. Dont tell me that's not coach's fault. Please dont blame KP, he can lead other team to PO much better then Luka. Remember my words - next year KP will be in ASG
My dream dynamic duo would be Luka and Embiid. He is everything the Mavs were wanting Porzingus to be, but does all of it so much better, in Porzingus' current condition. If Embiid and Porzingus just swapped places, Mavs get a ring. Plus, when Porzingus was with the Knicks, they were so-called "rivals" so you know this trade will stir the pot. I know this isn't going to happen, but hey, a man can dream, right?
This is KP’s first offseason in his career where he’s 100% healthy. Now he can focus on his game entirely, rather than rehabbing from an injury. Bubble KP was when he was 100%. All the covid and injuries set him up for failure. Now that he’s 100%, he can focus on his game and on court relationship with luka. And we should see something close to bubble KP. Also, looking at bubble film, luka trusted KP 100% to get a bucket. It was a two man game between them every game. Then KP got injured and lost his touch. Luka saw this and lost trust in KP’s ability to be a threat on the court. Once KP proves he can be consistent on offense, Luka will once again trust him
Who says no?
Pacers: Ben Simmons, KP, and a pick.
Mavs: Myles Turner.
Sixers: TJ Warren and Malcolm Brogdon.
Pacers take a risk and shake up their roster where if they go down this road they will probably have to trade Sabonis and build around Simmons similar to the bucks with Giannis (surround him with shooters). Mavs get a great defensive player in Myles Turner and free up even more cap space to build around Luka. Sixers get two very nice veterans who bring more versatility to the offense and improve their depth.
I realy think Dončić will always be a one man show. Last game against Clippers was awful to watch - Dončić dribble, dribble, dribble - shoot/awkward pass and do it all again. I mean It was boring AF. No doubt Dončić is one of the best players of this era, but he can't carry the whole world on his shoulders (nobody can). I think its better for Porziņģis to get out from Dallas and ideally find a team with more team oriented philosophy. Porziņģis is still a great player (look at his numbers in the regular season) and he showed he can knowingly sacrifice his game for the team if asked. No 7,3ft man can win a basketball game by himself, but neither can 6,7 feater who passes only when his ass is on fire.
Bottom line:
KP can’t dribble, post-up, pump fake, jab step, spin, fadeaway, or create contact, so he’s basically a 7’3” late-stage Peja Stojakovic.
The problem lies with the fact that he wants to be a #1, and he can’t do super star thing. This isn’t about usage, this is about skill.
